SUMMARY: Buffy goes to LA to meet Cordelia and Angel meets a very special person.

Buffy Summers stared out of her bedroom window in the apartment she shared with her three year old daughter, Maggie. She was thinking about the father of her child and the man who held her heart. No, it wasn't Riley it was Angel.

How she knew he was the father of her daughter, she had no clue. She just had that feeling. Maggie had blonde hair, like her mother, and the chocolate brown eyes like Angel.

Although Buffy hadn't been with Angel since her 17th birthday she knew Maggie wasn't Riley's or Parker's. The doctor had said that the baby was conceived sometime around Thanksgiving, that was too late to be Parker's and too early to be Riley's. The only person she had seen on Thanksgiving was Angel; therefor, Maggie was his.

Buffy had been thinking about Angel all day. This wasn't not normal, but today she was thinking about him 24/7. Today was 4 years since she had graduated. Four long years since Angel had left her.

She tilted her head to look at her hand where the claddaugh ring Angel had given her rested. She smiled slightly and looked up towards the sky, noticing a shooting star.

She remember the saying she used to say when she was younger and recited it.

"Starlight, starbright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight. God I wish...I wish I could know what Angel was thinking right now."

At that moment, visions of her and Angel appeared in her mind. Angel walked towards Buffy and passionately kissed her, catching her by surprise. Buffy clasped hands with Angel and launched herself into his arms. He turned around and backed her into the refrigerator, then flipped her onto the table, breaking it.

Buffy gasped trying to take in all these memories. Where did all these memories come from she thought. While trying to figure things out she was interrupted by Maggie.

"Momma, I had a bad dweeme. De bad man took me fwum you, and you couldn't fine me." Maggie climbed into her mother's open arms.

"Aww, sweetie, its ok. I would never let that happen to you. I love you, honey. Come on, lets go put you back in your bed so you can get to sleep."

Buffy carried her child into her bedroom and laid her down on the bed. She had a big day tomorrow. Buffy and Maggie were going to visit Cordelia in LA. She had invited Buffy to meet her at her apartment and then go have coffee at one of the new cafes.

After putting Maggie back to sleep, she walked towards her room and climbed in the bed.

Buffy walked into Cordy's apartment building with Maggie by her side. She noticed the note taped to Cordelia's door.

Buffy,
I had to go into work earlier than I expected today. Meet me at the office, you know the address.
-Cordelia

Great, she thought while walking back to her car. Now I might run into Angel. He's going to want to know who Maggie is. What am I supposed to say? Angel this is your 3 year old daughter that I have kept hidden from you. Even though we haven't had sex since my 17th birthday she is still yours. Yeah, I am so sure he will believe that.

Buffy knocked on the doors to Angel Investigations.

"Momma, where are we going?" The three year old asked.

Buffy crouched down to her daughters level, and tucked a blonde strand of hair behind her ears.

"Mags, me and you are going to have lunch with my friend Cordelia."

When Buffy stood up she was face to face with Cordelia.

"Buffy!! I haven't seen you in such a long time. Sorry you had to meet me here, but Angel called me in to help him with something early this morning." Cordelia embraced the petite slayer.

"Hey Cordy. It's no problem really. I would like you to meet my daughter, Maggie."

Cordelia bent down to see Maggie.

"Hi, my name's Cordelia, but you can call me Cordy. How old are you?"

Maggie held up 3 fingers.

"Three?" Maggie nodded her head. "Well, aren't you a big girl." Maggie nodded again in agreement.

Cordelia stood and motioned for Buffy to come in.

"I have to go get my purse. I'll be back in a few seconds."

Cordelia exited the room. Buffy put Maggie in Cordelia's chair while she wiped cookie crumbs from her daughter's mouth. She didn't notice Angel until Maggie said something.

"Momma, who dat?"

Buffy whirled around, looking straight into the eyes of her ex-lover.

"Buffy." He said in a surprised tone.

"Angel."

"Momma, who dat?" Maggie asked again.

"Oh, right. Maggie this is Angel. Angel this is Maggie, my daughter.

"Hi there," he answered, unsure of what to say to her.

Part 2

*****

"All right, I'm ready to go. Oh, Angel, I forgot to tell you Buffy and I are going out to lunch. I'll be back in an hour or so. Bye." Cordelia said as she entered the room.

"I guess we should leave now. Angel, we need to talk sometime." Buffy said seriously.

"We should. So, call me, and we can..talk."

As soon as Buffy sat down Cordelia started with the questions.

"So, Buff, who is Maggie's father?"

Buffy debated on whether or not to tell Cordelia that Maggie was Angel's.

"Well..actually, Angel is. Before you start telling me that its not possible I know that. I just have this feeling and last night I got these images of him and me in the sunlight. He was human."

"Oh my gosh. You remember." Cordelia whispered.

"I remember what?"

"Oh, nothing..I was just...reciting lines from the new play I am in." Cordelia tried to cover up her mistake.

"Come on Cordy, don't give me that crap. You know something. Tell me what it is."

Cordelia sighed. She knew she had no choice but to tell Buffy.

"Ok. Well, all those images that you had. Buffy they're real. Angel was human, but he had to turn back time to stop him from being made human because he couldn't defend himself or you. He was a liability towards the world. If he couldn't fight, you would die."

"Oh." Buffy managed to get out. Hearing all of this was a lot to take in.

Cordelia and Buffy went back to eating. When lunch was over they went back to Angel Investigations.

Cordelia, Buffy, and Maggie walked into Angel's office.

"Angel, we're back." Cordelia screamed.

A few moments later Angel came walking up the stairs.

"Hey, Angel, can I talk to you, privately?" Buffy asked.

"Sure, we can go downstairs."

"Yeah, Buffy, you want me to watch Mags for you while you tell Angel some very important stuff?" Cordelia hinted.

"Actually, Cordy, you don't have to. I think I am going to bring Maggie down with me. Thank you, though." Buffy smiled.

"Momma, where are we?" Maggie asked as her, Buffy, and Angel walked down the stairs.

"We're in your daddy's apartment." Buffy whispered long enough so Angel wouldn't be able to hear.

"Who is my daddy?" Maggie questioned her mother quietly, being the shy child that she was.

Buffy pointed towards Angel who was walking in front of them. When they reached the bottom of the stairs Buffy put Maggie on the ground and instructed her to go and give her dad a hug.

Maggie did as she was told and ran towards Angel. She wrapped her arms around his legs and looked up at him.

"Daddy!" she whispered, but Angel still caught it.

He looked over towards Buffy questioning what Maggie had just said. She nodded with tears in her eyes.

Angel slowly lifted Maggie up and hugged her tightly. She looked up and gave him a quick kiss on his cheek.

Buffy walked over to the couch and Angel followed with Maggie in his arms.

He sat down. "How?" he asked.

"I remember," was all she needed to say for him to understand.

Part 3

*****

Buffy walked over to where Angel was sitting with Maggie on his lap and sat down.

"Don't ask me how I remember, I just do. Last night I was looking up at a shooting star and I wished I knew what you were thinking about, then all these memories came into my head. I thought maybe they were just from a dream or something, but then when I was at lunch today Cordelia asked me how I knew that Maggie was yours. I told her that she had your eyes and that I had had a vision of you being human. She told me that you really were, and that you were turned back."

"Buffy, I'm so sorry. I didn't think you were going to remember. If your mad at me I understand."

"Mad? How could I be mad when you gave up your life for me? That's the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me. I just fell in love with you all over again."

"I love you, Buffy."

Angel leaned over towards Buffy and kissed her. They were interrupted by Maggie's laughing.

"Eww. Momma and Daddy are making kissie fwace."

Buffy and Angel parted, laughing at their daughter.

Part 4

*****

"Angel, how are we going to do this? I want you to be in Maggie's life, but I live in Sunnydale and you live here."

"You can come live with me, that is if you want to."

Buffy leaned over and hugged Angel tightly.

"I was hoping you would say that."

Buffy looked down at her daughter.

"Mags, honey, how would you like it if you and me came and lived here with daddy?"

"Ywes, pwease, momma," the three year old answered.

"Looks like we're moving in with you, Angel."

"Daddy, I'm twirsty." Maggie cut in.

"Ok, sweetie, what do you want? I think Cordelia might have some Orange Juice in here."

"Ywes, ywes, orange jutce."

"Orange juice it is then."

He walked over to the refrigerator, grabbed the juice, and poured her a glass before returning to Buffy on the couch.

"So, when are we going to do this moving in thing?" Buffy asked.

"I was thinking you and Maggie could stay here for the rest of the weekend, and we hang out. On Monday ya'll can go back to Sunnydale and then Friday I can come and pick ya'll up? Does that sound good?"

"Great." Buffy murmured as she leaned into Angel's lips.

Buffy looked down at Maggie and noticed she had fallen asleep.

"Angel, look." She motioned for him to look at their sleeping daughter in his lap.

"I'll go put her in my bed. I'll be right back." He got up and went into his room.

Pulling the covers down on his bed, he wondered how he had gotten to be so lucky. He laid Maggie down and covered her up before returning to see Buffy had fallen asleep also.

He picked her up and carried her into his bedroom to sleep with Maggie. When he started to leave, she woke up slightly.

"Angel, stay with me please. Just hold me."

He kicked his shoes off and climbed in bed with his soulmate and their daughter.

Part 5

*****

Buffy and Angel awoke to the sound of their daughter laughing and jumping in the bed.

"Ugh, Maggie, lay down so mommy and daddy can sleep for a few more minutes." Buffy told her daughter.

"No, momma, I wanna eat bwakefest."

"Fine." Buffy and Angel answered in unison as the crawled out of the bed.

"So, Mr. Chef, what is for breakfast?" Buffy asked Angel as he stood in front of the stove.

"Eggs. Is that ok with ya'll?"

"Ywes, I want eggs." Maggie yelled.

"Here you go, sweetie. Do you want some orange juice too?" Angel handed his daughter a plate of eggs.

"Uh-huh." she answered with a smile.

When Maggie finished eating breakfast and taking a bath, she insisted on playing hide and seek with her parents.

"I wanna pway hide and sheek." the small child announced to her dad when she came out of the bathroom.

"Ok, little miss, you and mommy can go hide and I will come and find you."

"Otay, daddy. You have to counts to twelve."

When Angel was finished counting he started looking around for Buffy and Maggie. He walked into the bathroom where he heard giggles coming from the shower.

He pulled the curtain back to reveal his lover and daughter.

"Ahha, I found you."

"No way, mister," and with that Maggie had run out of the bathroom and into the living with both Angel and Buffy behind her. None of them noticing Cordelia and Kate coming down the stairs.

When Buffy and Angel caught up with Maggie they grabbed and tickled her until she started yelling for them to stop.

Cordelia then cleared her throat.

"Hey Cordy." Buffy said as she stood up followed by Angel.

"Cordelia. Kate." Angel addressed both women.

"Hey Cwordy." Maggie ran towards Cordelia to hug her.

"Well, hi there, little one." Cordelia picked Maggie up in her arms.

"Angel, Kate needs to talk to you. That's why I came down here."

"Ok, Kate, how about you and I go into my office. Buffy I'll be right back."

Angel and Kate walked up the stairs and into his office, leaving Cordelia and Buffy to talk.

"Who's that?" Buffy asked.

"You mean, Kate, right? Well, she is a cop friend of Angel's. She has the hots for him, but he doesn't think so." Cordelia said matter of factly.

"Oh."

"Don't worry, Buff, you have nothing to worry about. Angel loves you, always has, always will."

"Yeah, I know."

"So, I take it everything went well last night and you told Angel about Maggie." Cordelia interrogated.

"I sure did, didn't I Mags?"

"ywessiree." the 3 year old answered for her mother.

Cordelia, Buffy, and Maggie started to walk up the stairs into Cordelia's office.

"Kate, what was it that you needed to talk to me about?" Angel asked the LAPD officer.

"I just wanted to say thank you for helping with that case last week."

"No problem."

"So, who was that little girl downstairs?" Kate started with the questions.

"That is Maggie, my daughter."

"I didn't know you had a daughter." Kate sounded surprised.

"Yeah, I didn't know until yesterday, but I already love her with all my heart."

"So, I'm guessing that other girl downstairs was her mother?"

"Yeah, Buffy. I love them both. I don't know what I would do without them."

"Well, I better get going. I have a case to work on. Thanks again Angel."

"Anytime."

Angel and Kate walked out of his office to be greeted by Buffy, Cordelia, and Maggie.

Buffy greeted Angel with a kiss, while Kate kept going towards the door.

"Mmm, hey," she said into his lips.

"Momma, you and daddy have kissie fwace again." Maggie announced.

Cordelia burst into laughter.

"Buffy, where does your child learn these things?" she asked.

"Xander."

"Figures." Angel said.

"Ooh, Cordelia, I forgot to tell you. Maggie and I are moving in with Angel on Friday." Buffy told the former May Queen.

"You are? That's great! Now I have a shopping partner. Well, I just came over here to see if you two were ok. I will be leaving now."

Cordelia put Maggie down and waved good-bye.

"Bye Cordy." Angel and Buffy said at the same time.

"Buhbye Cwordy." Maggie said in her own version of English.

Part 6

*****

It was Saturday morning. Cordelia had just left and Buffy, Angel, and Maggie were left alone.

Buffy and Angel sat on the couch, Angel reading a book, Buffy reading a magazine while Maggie colored a picture.

Angel got up from the couch and walked over to the refrigerator, but before he could get there he collapsed to the ground.

*****

"Warrior, The Powers That Be have decided to give you your humanity back. Your daughter needs you to be a regular parent who can take her into the light. You will keep your strength and healing abilities. Good bye."

*****

"Angel, are you ok?" Buffy asked.

Standing up, he grabbed Buffy and crushed her lips into his, receiving a giggle from Maggie.

He pressed Buffy's hand on his chest where his heart was.

She could feel his heart. 'thump, thump, thump'

"How?" she asked.

"The Powers that be said I needed to be able to take Maggie into the sunlight and be a regular father. They gave me my humanity back, but I still have my strength and healing abilities."

"Oh my gosh," she said still taking in the news. "I love you."

"I love you, too."

"I wove you momma. I wove you daddy." Maggie added. "Can we go to de pwark, momma?" Maggie asked.

Buffy looked up towards Angel making sure it was ok with him.

"Sure, honey, go get your shoes." Buffy answered.

Buffy and Angel were laying on a blanket, watching their daughter slide down the slide.

"How did we get to be so lucky?" Buffy asked. "We have a wonderful daughter, you're human, and now we're together. It feels like a dream."

"My mother once told me anything can happen when you wish upon a star." Angel answered his love.
