Summery: AU, Darla introduces Lilith and Angelus to her clan... things don't go as planned...

1760, London

The trip to the Master's lair didn't take too long. But on the way, Lilith had begun to feel oddly. When Angelus had asked her what was wrong, she had simply answered that she could feel something. That something big was going to happen soon.

He had answered, "Yes... something big is gonna happen soon," Then swept her away and spent a long day in bed.

But Lilith's worries still stayed. Ruled her world when Angelus was not tending to her, or hunting with her. She had even stayed in one night and let Angelus go off with Darla. She knew that Darla would have her way with him, but she didn't care. It wasn't the fact that
she felt like Angelus was devoted to her to the point where he was a slave. She did not want that for him.... she admired his individual state of mind... his twisted, sinful, lustful mind... but what vampire family didn't have one of those?

The day Darla announced that they would be seeing the Master, Lilith had grown rather quiet. Her thoughts lingering on how Angelus would act around him, and if the Master would approve. Angelus had destroyed his home town in the short three years they spent there
before leaving for Dublin, Ireland, and so forth. He had made quite a name for himself... but he was still cocky... anything but respectful. There were even times when she had caught him openly mocking Darla about their relationship.

During the day, Angelus had watched her lay in bed, until he couldn't stand the sight of her unmoving body.

"Love, what's the matter?" Angelus had asked, moving to sit next to her.

Lilith sighed, shifting so she lay on her stomach, her exposed back facing the ceiling. She stared at the wall.

This did not make him waver. He leaned down, brushing her sun shining hair away from her shoulder blades. He placed a kiss on each blade, "Lilith... c'mon... talk to me..." He ran his fingers down her spine, making her shiver at the gentle touch.

She sighed again, moving her arm so she could lay on her side, "I'm worried, Angelus... I only knew the Master for a short time... but he can be ruthless if he doesn't approve..." Lilith sat up, making sure the sheet covered her chest, so he wouldn't be distracted like last time when she tried to have a serious conversation with him, "I want him to... so I won't have to lose you to fate..." She lay open mouthed kisses on his fingers and knuckles.

"I'll be fine," Angelus grinned down at her, "What ever he throws at me, I can take..." He clasped hands with hers, and squeezed, before moving his hands up her arms and onto her shoulders.

"But you are so young--" Lilith started, "you don't know what he can do--"

"Sshh..." Angelus hushed her kissing her gently, softly. So much that she wasn't sure if his lips had actually touched hers, "Let me take care of it... let me..." He gently pulled the sheet away from her body, and leaned down, running his hands down her flesh, "Don't think... just feel..."

The day was over, and before either of them knew it, they were listening to Darla introduce them to the Master. Angelus wasn't very much impressed. Though he briefly wondered if his face always looked like that.

Seated in the massive carved chair, he gazed at Angelus, the vampire Lilith had made seven years ago. He stood in front of him, Lilith standing next to him, looking tiny next to him. "Angelus," The Master spoke, "the Latinate for Angel." He laughed, "It's marvelous." He
looked at Lilith, giving her a nod of approval that helped calm her tense muscles a bit.

"Tell me, little Lilith," The Master started, "How was life with Darla?"

Lilith smiled, "A pleasure as always." Then poked Angelus' side when he she felt his body vibrate with laughter.

Darla, who was now standing beside the Master, gazed at him, "His name would already be legend in his home village--had he left anyone alive there to tell the tale."

The Master caressed the back of Darla's hand, smiling, "Ah, you had a nice trip. I'm so glad."

"On the way back we cut a bloody swath through South Wales and northern England. They were magnificent." Darla boasted.

"Hmm, Yorkshire men," Angelus started, glancing at Lilith, then back up, "tough as leather."

The Master and Angelus shared a laugh, one that Lilith noted was mostly for show on Angelus' part. She could tell he was growing bored, and he didn't like the prospect of having to live here, what with the way Darla spoke of the Master being the head of the household. Angelus didn't enjoy having Darla telling him what to do, and when to do it. Nor, did he like the idea of an antique doing it from now on.

Lilith never over did her right as sire. She respected his pride and his right as a male. More than once had she let him lead her like a lamb.

Sighing, Angelus spoke, "So, Darla here tells me you're some sort of Master."

"*The* Master." Darla corrected him, "He commands out order."

"The order of Aurelius." The Master added, "We are the select--the elite."

Angelus folded his arms, surveying their surroundings and making Lilith tense up again, "And you live in the sewers, do you?"

Lilith tried her best to hold back her smile, biting the inside of her lip as her childe became bold.

The Master gave Darla's hand a pat and stood, "We live below, giving tribute to the old ones. Awaiting that promised day when we will arise--Arise!--and lay *waste* to the world above us." He laughed.

"Why'd you want to do that?"

Lilith sighed, eying Angelus warily.

"Huh?"

"Well, I mean, have you *been* above lately?" Angelus inquired, "It's quite nice. Me--I could never live in a rat infested stink hole--like this, if you'll pardon me for saying so. I got to have meself a proper bed or I'm a terror." Angelus looked down at his sire, who was shaking her head slightly, "Isn't that right love?"

Lilith turned to the Master, "He's young. But then again, so am I."

"And this one, down in the pretty feathers, and the finest silks and linens" Angelus moved around Lilith, "she's always got to have her childe" He leaned in close to her, "don't you, my lamb?"

Darla gave Lilith a pointed look. Lilith blew an unneeded breath against Angelus' neck before speaking to the Master, "We fed very recently. The blood is still hot in his veins." She ground out through slightly gritted teeth.

Leaning in toward her ear, Angelus murmured, "You noticed that, did you?"

Lilith groaned, lightly bumping her elbow into his gut.

"We stalk the surface to feed and grow our ranks. We do not live amongst the human pestilence!" The Master snapped.

Angelus let go of Lilith, "I'll be honest, you really couldn't with that face, now could you?"

Darla approached her grand childe and slapped him across his face, brutally, "Angelus!"

Angelus laughed, dropping into the Master's chair, leg dangling over one of the armrests, making himself comfortable. He eyed the Master, "It's not stuck like that now is it?"

The Master leaned in on him with a growl.

"The Master has grown past the curse of human features." Darla retorted.

Ignoring Darla, Angelus gazed at Lilith, who even now, standing behind the two older vampires, was smiling at him, "I'm not gonna get a bat-nose like that, am I? Huh?"

Oh, Angelus, Lilith mouthed, sighing.

"Very few vampires are cunning enough to have lived as long as I have--which you've now--" The Master reached forward, grabbing Angelus by the front of his coat and throwing him across the room, "demonstrated."

Lilith flinched as Angelus slid down the wall. Her face emotionless, but her body feeling rigid and concerned.

Laughing, Angelus stood, talking to Lilith as if the Master or Darla wasn't even there, "Naples: you and me, my angel. What do you say, Lil?"

The Master punched him, hard, before throwing him back against the wall.

Lilith sighed, "Angelus..." She said, almost scolding.

Angelus just pushed himself off the wall, going on as if nothing had happened. But it did, and it worried Lilith.

"This is no place for you--bound to the likes of him. Even if Darla is your sire. You should be far from here." He spoke, gazing at her.

"You should show," The Master knocked Angelus over the head, dropping him to the ground, "the proper respect."

Angelus was now on all fours, breathing hard, and scaring Lilith. He still ignored all the other, and only spoke to his sire, "You belong by my side--out in the world--feeding as we like--taking what we need. Enjoying it, love. I'll give you that life you crave, darling. I'll give you everything."

The Master knocked Angelus over onto his back. Angelus coughed than laughed again. Lifting his head, he looked at his Lilith, "Tell the truth, love--whose face do you want to look at for eternity?" He rolled over, onto his side, "His? Or mine?"

"You idiot." The Master grinned down at him, cruelly, "I *made* Darla. And whatever she owns, belongs to this clan."

Lilith smiled at Angelus and he smiled back. The Master's smile faded, turning to look at Lilith who avoided the angry look her sire was giving her.

"You're leaving with the stallion, aren't you?" Darla questioned, moving behind her Master.

Lilith walked over to Angelus and helped him up, smiling at him and fixing his outfit. Angelus wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. Lilith sighed, kissing his cheek as the two of them turned to leave.

One of the Master's minions growled and blocked their path.

"No." The Master spoke, his back still to them, "Let them go."

The minion did what he commanded.

"He won't last. I give it a century. Tops." The Master said, then turned to Darla, "Now, my dear... why don't we discus your future childer, hmm?"

The End.
