Awakenings The cemetary was dank and musty as he moved through it.His black leather jacket billowing out from his legs in the wind he was creating with his stride. His bleach blond hair slicked back and unruly with his slight curls. His deep blue eyes so deep that when you looked into them you felt as though you were drowning right into his soul. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette, the glowing embers illuminating his face as he took a drag. His face so chisled with his featurs, the sharp bridge of his nose, the scar in his left eyebrow, his full and decidedly kissable mouth. He loved her, he didnt know how but he did. He, the demon, the vampire was in love with a slayer. A slayer who killed his kind. The very same slayer who made his blood boil and anger him in ways unimaginable. He fell in love with her in ways that he never felt for Dru. She invaded his body and soul. He had done wrong to her and he knew it but he was always there. Always protecting. He tried over and over to get rid of the past and focus on the future. Trying to prove his worth and his love.
Her heartbeat quickened as his eyes grazed her with his heated glance. She looked back at him, her insides tingling at the sight of him. The moonlight playing off the chisled features of his face. She had been walking around for hours. Trying to think, trying not to think. She was wildly attracted to Spike, she knew it was wrong. Slayers aren't supposed to fall for vampires. She had taken that road and it had ended bad. Now she found herself about to take that road again. What she felt for Spike was beyond what she ever felt for Angel. She didn't know when things changed, she only knew she had been feeling this way for a long time. She walked on and on trying to find him, afraid not to find him. Always winding up in front of his crypt. He is so beautiful, she thought, a small sigh escaping her. His eyes widened when he heard her sigh. He shook the thoughts that registered in his head.
Buffy popped out and kicked the vampire. He got up and threw her against a headstone, she groaned and fell. With his demon face in play Spike punched the vampire again carefully avoiding his fangs. The vampire retaliated and grabbed Spike. Spike managed to get out of the vampire's hands and turned around to attack when the vampire exploded into a cloud of dust.
He smiled and pressed a kiss to her forehead. He put his head back on the pillow and started to wonder what happened. He knew they were in a bed. A giant four poster bed complete with with rose colored velvet bed curtains.
Taking out his zippo lighter he lit one of the candles and started to investigate the room. At the foot of the bed was a chaise lounge, covered in the same material as the curtains. In one corner was a beautiful ornate armoire. A dressing table sat next to the armoire covered in feminine articles, complete with a silver handled brush. Against another wall was a large desk with stacks of paper on it. Two windows shone the moonlight into the room, a large fireplace with a blazing fire in it was the last thing Spike saw. He walked over to the desk and started to search for some clues as to where they were when he heard Buffy stirring on the bed.
"Yeah Pet Im right here." "Where are we?" she asked getting up and going to him. He reached out his hand and pulled her to him. She gratefully welcomed the warmth of his embrace. He saw a newspaper on the desk and grabbed it, quickly skimming its contents for some clues on where they were. What he saw on top didn't make sense. He had to look at it several times before he realized what it said. "Buffy, look at this." "What?" "The top Luv." Buffy glanced at the paper and saw what Spike had seen. It read The Sunnydale Press, October 11, 1864. "Oh my god!"Buffy said turning her eyes to him. "What the bloody hell happened to us?" he asked her. "Your guess is as good as mine. The last thing I remember is being in the graveyard." "So do I." Buffy backed out of Spike's embrace and looked around the room. "Spike, look at this," she said pointing to something on the wall. Spike saw that it was a painting hanging on the wall. He brought the candle up close and was shocked at what he saw. Buffy grabbed onto his arm the shock also written all over her face. In the painting were two people very much in love. Two blond heads close together, one gold-blond one platnium. They were looking at one another with shining eyes.
He didn't look at her, he was too busy looking at the couple in the picture. The man looked so much like him that Spike felt like he was looking into a mirror. Which was odd for a vampire. Buffy put her hand on his chest and said his name. When he finally tore his eyes away from the painting he returned her gaze. The look on her face was a mixture of perplextion and fear.
Under her hand was a pulse, a strong beating. It couldn't be,she thought. Theres no way.
