Chapter 5
As the couple slept two tiny lights appeared overhead, watching them. One pink, one blue.
"Look at the two of them."
"So in love with each other. Even though she won't admit it yet."
"What do you say we give them a little surprise?" The blue light asked the pink one.
"Do you think they will be able to handle it?"
"I think they will handle it better then they think they will. They need something, a certain something that will bind them together. Tighter then they ever imagined," the blue light said as it sprinkled what appeared to be twinkling gold dust over them. The two lights smiled and vanished, leaving the pair oblivious to what was happening. *~*
The rain was starting to let up and the gray sky fell to black. Spike opened his sleepy eyes and smiled at the sleeping slayer in his arms. He kissed her temple and nuzzled her neck.
"I don't want to get up," she whined as Spike tried to rouse her.
"Luv, its sundown. Im sure little bit is wondering where you are."
"I know but I still don't want to move," she replied turning over so they were face to face.
"I could always walk you home," he replied kissing the tip of Buffy's nose.
"And then I could walk you back to your crypt," she said kissing him.
"And then I would walk you back."
"And we would keep doing this until when?"
"Who bloody cares?" he replied kissing her hard and pinning her to the mattress.
"Spike.." she said breathlessly.
"Need you too," he breathed huskily. Buffy sighed and wound her arms around Spike's neck pulling him closer. Cluthing at him like he was her life line. She was drowning in him, his eyes, his love, his everything.
"How is it that you can read me through my eyes?" She asked as she broke their kiss.
"Vampire thing," he said and then laughed when Buffy rolled her eyes.

It was almost 3 hours later when Buffy finally pulled herself out of Spike's arms and headed home. She smiled and laughed to herself as she walked through the cemetary to her house. Butterflies flying around in her stomach when she thought of Spike being so tender and gentle with her. She wrapped her arms around herself as she reached her porch. She didn't want to go in yet. She knew there would be lots of questions and she wasn't really ready to answer them. Breathing in gulp of fresh air she opened the door and walked inside.
"Hey Buff," Xander said from his seat on the couch. Buffy rounded the corner and saw Dawn, Anya and Xander playing poker. She almost laughed out loud when she pictured Spike and his friends playing for kittens.
"Where ya been?" Dawn asked as she got up and walked over to her sister.
"Patrolling and walking around. I must have lost track of time," Buffy replied hating to lie but not ready to tell where she really was.
"Is that right?" Dawn asked her getting a little closer.
"So how come I smell just the slightest hint of leather and smoke on you?" Dawn said under her breath, low enough that only Buffy could hear her.
"I.........uh..." Buffy stammered as her wide green eyes locked on those of her sisters.
"Uh huh," Dawn mocked and laughed when she saw Buffy's turn 3 different shades of red.
"I think I'll go upstairs now," Buffy replied trying to get her face to turn her normal color.
Dawn laughed and winked at her before walking back to Xander and Anya.
Buffy rolled her eyes and started up the stairs.

Buffy had just gotten out of the shower when she heard her name being called.
"I'll be right out," she yelled. Wrapping her fluffy robe around herself she stepped out of the steam filled bathroom.
"Oh there you are," Willow said and smiled. "I was thinking, we haven't spent that much time together as group lately. Are you up for going to the Bronze?"
"Oooh good idea Will. Nothing like a scoobie night out," Buffy said as she smiled and turned walking into her room.
