In Dreams Chapter 1 It was dark as she moved through the endless hall of her home. Its not really new anymore, she reminded herself, as she had been there five years now. Upstairs she swore she could hear music and her sister talking on the phone. But she knew that wasn't right, her sister moved out last year. She was alone. She headed to her bedroom which had become her sanctuary. Shutting her door she went to her bed and flung herself upon it. She hadn't been sleeping well. In fact, she hadn't been sleeping at all. When she did sleep all she saw was him. His platinum blond hair, his deep blue eyes, his cocky smile. The last time she saw him he looked like an angel. The blue/purple color of the amulet shining against the bright light that was coming from his body in waves. I love you, she had said.
Her eyes started to tear as she remembered what she was thinking when she walked out of the basement. Im not just saying it. I do love you.
She cried as though the wound was fresh and it was just yesterday her world had changed. Her sobbing could be heard throughout the house. Loud gut wrenching sobs sounded from her broken heart. Whimpering his name she finally fell asleep. Her tear stained cheeks wetting the bed underneath her. *~*
He pulls the rest of his body out of the ruins and stands trying to figure out where he was. It was night, everything was dark but his eyes, accustomed to the dark of the night were seeing clearly as though the sun was out. He started to walk, trying to conjure up some memory of where he was, who he was. He could make out fallen buildings and homes. Pools with huge cracks in them and no water. A park with a lone swing and nothing else. What he saw next made me stop dead in his tracks.
Oh my god, he thought as he started to remember what happened that fateful day. Memories flooded his mind like a tidal wave. Apocolypse, The First, Red, Dawn, Xander, Angel and then Buffy. He remembred him, Spike aka William the Bloody wearing the amulet that Angel had brought from LA to help Buffy. He remembered Buffy being stabbed and then he, Spike healing her. He remembered the light coursing through his body like holes in swiss cheese. The memory of the room, the ceiling caving in on him. And he with the knowledge that he was going to die but was dying for the good guys. The good team. For his love, his heart, his Buffy.
He stood there staring at that sign until the sky started to brighten from a midnight black to a rosy blue. As soon as he felt the light of day he threw his leather jacked over his head not wating to become dust himself. As he ran to find shade he realized that his exposed hand was not hurting or burning and that he was breathing hard. He finally reached a spot of shade between two buildings. He knew he wasn't in Sunnydale anymore, it seemed as thoughg Sunnydale had imploded on itself. There wasn't a human being or demon for that matter anywhere in exsistence. Everything was gone. His crypt, the school, Buffy's house. He wondered where she was, what she was doing. If she missed him or even thought of him. "Buffy," he said again exhaling a breath of air. There again a breath of air. "Oh my god I'm breathing!" he exclaimed. "But I'm a vampire, I don't need air." "You're not a vampire anymore," a voice said behind him. Spike automatically stiffened up, not recognizing the voice. He turned around and smiled when he realized who it was. "Clem!" Spike said. "How's it going mate?" "Spike, I knew you were going to come back. I just didn't realize it would be so soon." Clem said. "Come back? What the hell are you talking about?" "It was written in the prophecy that you were not meant to die that day. You were meant to save the world but not die." "Not meant to die? I died?" "Yes Spike." "In the prophecy?" "Yes Spike. The prophecy said you would die doing good against the big bad. It also said that you would come back. Not as a demon but that of a man. A man whose power and strength surpasses that of a slayer," Clem explained. "Spike you are the master vampire. You are the only left from the line of Angelus." "Whoop ti do Clem. But what does it all mean?" Spike asked sarcastically. "You were brought back to help the Slayer, to be with the Slayer. To love the Slayer. She cried for you every night. Crying with tears of utter true love and devotion. She loves you. The prophecy said the demon would be come a man and he and the Slayer would conquer all." Clem told him. During the speech Spike stared at him, his blye eyes wide not fully understanding him. "You mean to tell me I'm human? I am human? I won't crave blood or the kill? I can love and I'm supposed to be with Buffy?" "So it is written Spike," Clem said. "I really am human?" Spike asked again. When Clem nodded his head Spike stuck his hand out into the sunlight. It didn't burn or smoke. He got more daring, took off his black leather coat and stepped into the sun. He lifted his head to the blinding light and closed his eyes. The sun felt nicea nd warm against his face and skin. He laughed aloud realizing full force what had happened. "So in essence I am being rewarded for my good deeds?" "In a way yes. But it was all written before you were ever created explaining that all this would happen." I can't believe it. I can breathe, Im human and Im supposed to be with Buffy, Spike thought. "Buffy," he sighed deeply. "Where is she?"
"I'm not ready to see her yet. I need to clean up and become respectable. I don't want her to see me like this," Spike said looking down at his dirty body and clothes. "I understand and I know just what to do," Clem replied as Spike walked into the sunshine, revelling in it, remembering what it was like to be sunkissed. I'm coming my Pet, Spike thought smiling.
He held out his hand to her and whispered,"Wake me up." "Wake me up," she whispered as she put her hands on his face. Feeling his features as though she was blind and wanted to burn them into her hands. She whimpered his name as his mouth grazed her neck, making her flesh break out in goose bumps. Her fingers ran through his hair, holding his head to her neck. He raised his head from her neck and she pulled his mouth to hers in a hungry kiss.
He couldn't hold off anymore and as she came, screaming his name through the dusky night sky he exploded inside her. Going and going until he felt he couldn't go any longer. Holding onto her as though she wasn't there. The sound of her husky voice thick with lust yelling out his name. He lay panting on top of her, whispering her name, telling her he loved her.
