A bolt of lightning stuck close and a chain reaction series of loud
booms
crashed through the motel room. Willow jumped up and looked around.
Seconds
later another series of booms echoed through the area. She jumped
and
screamed a frightened squeal. That woke Angel up.
"Willow what's wrong?" He sat up as she jumped to the next couple
of blasts.
She quickly stood up.
"I hate thunder," she confessed, crossing her arms in front of her
and
leaning against one of the chairs.
"It's just a little bit of noise," he commented.
"To you Mr. I've-Caused-Worse-Screaming it's 'just noise'. To me
it's the
perfect point for death." Angel looked at her skeptically. "Xander,
Jessy and
I used to tell scary stories during storms." She leaped up again
at the next
blast. "He was really good at putting a climax at the largest blasts
of
thunder. I just fright easily from it, okay?" Angel pulled her
by the hands
to sit back on the bed.
"You're not afraid of vampires or any other demon. You've concurred
you're
fears of them. But you have yet to fight thunder. Something that
can't even
hurt you. I think you can stop fearing thunder." The next blast
was extremely
close and Willow shouted, leaping up in fright. Angel took her
in his arms
and she began to sob as he hushed her, petting her hair and rubbing
her back.
After a couple minutes the sobs passed and she held Angel tightly.
Angel loosened his hold on her and she started to do the same. Angel
placed
his forehead against hers and lightly brushed away the tears under
her eyes.
"You okay?" he asked. She nodded her head a bit. "Okay." They remained
touching foreheads for a while till Angel closed his eyes, as did
Willow, and
he leaned in, softly kissing her tender lips. He pulled back for
a moment
then kissed her again, this time deepening it a bit. Willow responded
by
moving her hands up into his hair.
The furry of the kiss grew and the power around and through them
grew. Willow
ran her hands over his taught muscles and lean arms, Angel moved
his hands to
the bottom of her shirt, lifting it a little, placing his hands
under it and
running them over the small of her back.
"Mmm --" Willow pushed away. "What are we doing?" She caught her breath.
"I don't know." He lightly kissed her lips again. "Diverting you're
attention
from the storm outside?"
"I've dreamed of this but we can't." Angel looked at her strangely.
"I've
*literally* dreamed of us making love. But we can't."
"Because we'd unleash something we're trying to keep in our dreams."
"Angelus. Exactly." She huffed. "To remove such temptations, I'll
sleep on
one of the chairs."
"No, Willow. I promise I'll be good. Please stay in the bed. You'll
get
better sleep." She nodded her head and they both laid back to sleep.
A blast
of thunder echoed through the room and she jumped. Angel turned
her facing
him and took her hand in his, caressing it with his thumb as he
closed his
eyes and mouthed "You're okay," to her. She laid back and laid
her head down,
taking a deep breath and releasing it, letting the sound of the
now steady
rain calm her into sleep.
