Summary: When Willow and Cordy find out something disturbing, what will they do? AU set after Angelus roamed free

Willow ran down the dark streets of Sunnydale not paying the least bit of attention to her surrondings. The only thing she could concentrate on was the broken empty feeling inside of herself. Her breath hitched as she tried to fight back her tears but it was no use and they spilled down her cheeks. She came to an abrupt stop as a car screeched to a halt next to her. Looking over she saw the concerned face of Cordelia.
"Willow! What's wrong? Get in the car you know it's not safe to be wandering around out here by your self after dark."
Willow numbly went to get in her car. "What's wrong? What's wrong? Are you sure you want to know this is your last warning."
Cordy drove off and looked over at Willow. What she saw wasn't good and now Cordy was really getting concerned, that not only had Willow been running in Sunnydale at night, she had tear tracks running down her face. "Willow, I know I haven't always been the most caring person. Hell I made your life miserable for years but I hope I am better now. I consider you my friend. What's wrong?"
Looking over at Cordelia Willow sighed. "Well don't say I didn't warn you. Oz said he had to study tonight so we couldn't meet at the Bronze like we planned. I didn't have anything else to do tonight Buffy said she had to do some Mother Daughter bonding tonight and Xander said he was going to be at your place."
"HE SAID WHAT? He told me that he had to help his Uncle Rory tonight. What is going on Willow" Cordelia seethed.
"As I was saying," Willow said in a hitching voice. "With everyone having plans I decided to bake some cookies for Oz and surprise him sorta a study treat. Well when I got there the place was dark but his room. His Mom had told me to just come on in so I did. I went in and went up the stairs to his room. The music was turned way up and the door shut. I went over opened up the door and there on the bed where Buffy, Oz, and Xander fucking."
The car came to an abrupt stop as Cordy in her shock slammed on the brakes. "THEY WERE WHAT WITH WHO? I cannot believe that little worm. Who the hell do they think they are? What did they do"
As Willow rubbed her shoulder where the seat belt had cut in said "Oh it gets even better. When they did finally notice that they had an audience they acted as though they had done nothing wrong. Buffy said and I quote I am the Slayer I can do what ever I want. She also said Oz only used me to get close to her cause who would want someone mousy like me, and Xander well she said that he would always do what she wanted no matter what. The worse thing is the two of them just sat there and didn't say a word not even she told me to leave and see tomorrow at the library to research as that was all I was good for and the only reason she kept me around."
By this time Cordy mouth was hanging open. "That bitch those bastards. Look Willow why don't you come back to my place tonight. I don't think that either of us need to be home alone and we can vent together about them."
Willow gave Cordy a weary defeated look. Shaking her head yes she closed her eyes and rested her head back and thought on all the strange revelations of the day so far Cordy acting nice and those who were her friends stabbing her in the back. What else was the hellmouth going to dish up today?

Willow looked out the window in the living room of Cordy's house while Cordelia went and got them something to drink. She wasn't sure what she felt right now but rage and the desire for change. She sure as hell wasn't going to let them take advantage of her any more and stick her in the little box of what they thought was willowy anymore. For years she had been hiding who she really was because she was shy. Well no more she thought from now on they wouldn't know what hit them. Just then Cordy came back in with a bottle of white wine and two glasses.
"Here have a glass of wine after the night we've had we deserve it" Cody exclaimed. "Here's to us. Who cares if we have absent parents or friends who stab us in the back? I say screw'em."
Willow looked over at Cordelia as she took her wineglass raised it up and said "Here's to new friendships and that those bastards not know what has hit them until too late." Cordy nods her head in agreement as they both drink to the toast. "Cordy, I was wondering if you would like to go shopping with me. I feel the need for a whole new me. I am no longer going to be the mousy little nothing that everyone thinks I am. I am ready to show who I really am a strong capable woman."
"Willow I would love to. I cannot wait to get you in the mall. I think that I will join you this make over. I am more than a cheerleader. I just did that because its what my parents expected all these years. I can still remember what they were like while I was younger Cordelia you must be the most popular person how would it look to our friends if you were less than perfect or unpopular. Well if they cannot even bother to be around then I will no longer be the perfect little popular thing that they wanted. I hated to have to act that way. I really liked you all those years and couldn't tell you. I am really sorry for the way I treated you all those years. I would like to start over and be your friend. Can I Willow?"
"Oh Cordy of course you can as long as you don't try to put me back into the little sidekick box. I would love to have you for a friend now lets finish this wine and plan our shopping trip. I am thinking lots of leather I love the way that it smells and feels. Let's blow off school tomorrow and go shopping all day."
"Now I know you are serious about changing. Willow the perfect attendance student is blowing off school to shop! This is gonna be cool. All day at the mall and tomorrow night we party and show those losers what they overlooked and lost. Come on lets go upstairs and get settled in for the night we've had a long day and tomorrow world look out here comes the new and improved Willow and Cordelia." With that the girls went upstairs to settle in for the night looking forward to their new lives.
