~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Willow was sleeping. Her body and mind at ease and relaxed for the first time in weeks. As she slept, she was no longer reliving the nightmare of Angel's experience in hell. Having to see time and time again Buffy running Angel through with her sword, or hearing Angel's cries as he was tortured over and over.

She was finally at peace, though not for long.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Willow was suddenly ripped out of her sleep at the commotion around her.

Looking over at Angel, she found him thrashing about, his arms and legs flailing in all direction, as he screamed out in panic.

Sitting up, Willow crawled over to Angel and tried to stop his thrashing. It seemed to be a futile effort however. As soon as she had grabbed one arm and went to reach for the other, the first would break loose. Her position of trying to reach across him and his body moving due to the kicking of his legs made things increasingly difficult.

Giving up her original attempts to calm him, Willow got up onto her knees and straddled his chest, effectively stopping his body from jumping about.

Using the advantage of her new position, will reached out and grabbed both of his hands, holding them to his chest, restraining him.

After a few unsuccessful attempts to free himself once more, Angel finally calmed down as he began to wake up, his nightmare leaving him.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Willow left go of his arms and rolled off of him, and back onto the bed.

As soon as she had released him, Angel had curled into a ball, and started to shake, sobs racking his body.

Glancing at her watch Willow sighed, her heart going out to him. It was the third time tonight that Angel had awoken from a nightmare, although none had been as violent as this one.

Moving back to his side, Willow wrapped her arms around him, trying to offer him some comfort. Moving a hand up to his head, Willow began to soothingly stroke his hair, while whispering words of reassure to him till he fell once again into an uneasy sleep.

Sitting there as she watched Angel sleep she wondered what exactly he was experiencing in his dreams to cause this reaction within him. True he wasn't exactly himself at the moment, seeming to barely recognize her most of the time, although every now and them, a small flicker of recognition flashed across his eyes, but vanished as quickly as it had come.

Each time that he had woke, she had tried to coax what he had dreamt about, hoping to find a way to help him. But he remained silent, locked in his own personal hell, having not said a word since his plea for her to stay.

After a while, satisfied that he was now fast asleep and seemingly nightmare free, Willow went to move away from him and try to get some sleep herself. As soon as she had let go of him and started to leave though, he sub-consciously reached out and pulled her back to him, wrapping his arms around her, holding on to her like a life line.

Sighing, Willow decided not to try to free herself, not wanting to wake him, and tried to get comfortable, resting her head on his bare chest, until she too, finally found sleep.
