Willow's POV

She returned two weeks ago. Came back to reclaim her home and part of her
life. I haven't really spoken to her. Maybe because of the hurt and anger I
still carry in myself for her absence this summer.
She had packed up and left, not caring who she left behind, without even a
number to call. But as much as I was angry at her for it, I was also
grateful. If she hadn't left, I never would have had the opportunity to spend
my days and nights with him.
I now have memories with him, something I never thought possible.
I know what I'm feeling will hurt her, may hurt her, but with each passing
day, my control begins to slip. Does it matter? Don't I deserve to be happy?
Don't I deserve my own heaven on earth?
I rummage through my closet, not sure what exactly I'm looking for. I'm not
really sure why I'm going to be honest.
Her mom had gone the extra mile in preparing the party for her. The
invitation on my bed proof of her enthusiasm of her daughter's return home. I
can't help but snort.
I pass over my hung pants, past the skirts not sure what I'm looking for.
I've never really taken much care to any party, not like this at least. But
in the back of my mind I know why I'm looking for something special.
I'm going with him. I can't stop the flutter in my stomach at the thought. I
know it's two friends going, but I am hoping for so much more.
Two weeks she's been here and I've noticed a change in him. He isn't
clinging to false hopes about her, not needing to be with her. He still comes
to me at night, seeks me out, not her.
Doesn't that mean something? Doesn't that mean he may want me at least a
fraction of how much I want him, love him.
I pull the last of the hangers away, a smile coming to my lips as I find it.
It had been on sale that day in the mall. I felt adventurous. Something
completely out of the ordinary for me to wear. I remember coming home and
placing it in the closet, vowing one day to use it.
And tonight was the night.

Angel's POV

I wish my hands would stop shaking for a moment. I take an unneeded breath,
finally getting enough nerve to knock on her door.
I laugh, this was actually the first time I had knocked on her door. My
entrance was always her bedroom window. I smile, how nice.
I can hear her voice on the other end, telling me she'll be right down. I
wait a bit impatiently. This wasn't a date was it?
I look around, looking for something. I find it just hidden behind the
shadows of her house. I move over and pluck it, the first full bloom red rose
I had ever seen. I hurry back to the doorway, hearing the clicks of locks,
knowing she'd be out any moment.
I am struck speechless as I see her come out. My jaw moves, with no words
forming.
She looked heavenly. The summer dress she wore, white with a red rose print
made her look alluring. It snug her from above the v-style top style from
both front and back showing off her silky arms and shoulders. It defined her
waist, then flowed around her to her knees, the skirt moving with her
movements.
"You look great."
I wouldn't help but smile at the small blush that pinches her cheeks.
Without a second thought I present her the red rose, loving the smile that
comes to her lips. I decide not to hand it to her, instead place the rose in
her loose long hair caressing her face, by her left ear.
I offer her my arm and wait for her to take it before we depart.
"Such a gentleman."
"Always with you."
We head off, my step a bit lighter with her beside me, a silly grin on my
face.
Tonight the past would be buried and left behind.
