10 Year Reunion

Chapter 6

Sunnydale 2009

"Buffy?" a concerned Willow gently said. "Buffy, are you okay?"

A groggy Buffy awoke from unconsciousness. "What happened?" She asked warily. Then she remembered. (My God! Willow and Angel! This can not be happening) Slowly Buffy sat up, with a little help from Giles.

"You fainted Buffy," answered Giles. Buffy opened her eyes to see everyone around her, worry clearly written on their faces. Two of them also had a little guilt mixed in.

"Angel, please tell me it's not true."

"Tell you that what's not true?" a confused Angel asked.

"Tell me that you and Willow aren't together," begged Buffy.

 "It's true Buffy," Willow replied.

 "How long?"

Willow decided that the best way to break the news to Buffy, would be to tell her the truth. "Ten years. We finally got together when Angel took me to the prom. We got married right after Graduation." Buffy tried to take in the information that she was being given without much success. Then she saw Spike and Drusilla still standing in the doorway.

"And what about Spike and Drusilla over there?"

"I gave them their souls back a month after the wedding as a wedding present to Angel. I didn't want him to have to kill his childre." After saying this, Willow turned to the children. "Kids, why don't you go back upstairs and play with Aunt Dru and Uncle Spike. We need to speak to Buffy alone." The girls nodded both knowing that something was happening with the adults. They grabbed Spike and Dru, dragging them up the stairs.

"What about your kids? Are they adopted?" Angel was taken about by the question and then remembered that Buffy didn't know about him being human.

"No, Buffy. They're mine and Willow's." He saw her look of confusion and continued. "The spell that Willow used to get me out of hell also made me human."

"Okay, this is way too much," Buffy said standing up quickly, everyone backed away from. They could see that she was not very happy about everything she had just been told. "I come back to see my old friends only to find out that my best friend has not only married the man I love, but also that he is completely human. And on top of that, two of my worst enemies now have their souls and apparently good friends with all of you," Buffy's voice was getting louder with each word until she was yelling at the top of her lungs. She turned on Willow, smacking her in the face. "You bitch."

Angel grabbed Buffy before she could go after Willow again. Willow just looked at the blonde slayer, shocked at her former friend's reaction. Buffy struggled against Angel but was unable to break the hold he had on her.

"You were my friend and you decided to take Angel away from me," Buffy spat at the still silent Willow. "Why? Oz wasn't man enough for you? Or did he dump you after realizing what a loser you were?"

"Buffy, that's enough," Giles shouted. Buffy just looked at him in disbelief. He knew that the girl's reaction to finding out about Willow and Angel would be bad, but he wasn't prepared for what how she was acting.

"Willow didn't plan on anything and you should know that. She brought Angel back for you, but you were nowhere to be found."

"Oh so that makes it all better?" Buffy replied, finally breaking free from Angel. "I don't think so." Buffy walked up to Willow and looked at the witch. Willow didn't know what to say and Buffy took advantage of her silence. She looked at the girl, a threat clearly visible in her eyes.

"If you think I'm just going to let you keep Angel, you have another thing coming. I will get back what is rightfully mine." Having said that, Buffy walked away from the group and they watched as she left the house. As soon as she was gone, Willow finally allowed the tears that she had been holding back break free.

"Oh goddess, what have we done?" Angel pulled her into his arms, soothing her.

"We haven't done anything wrong, kitten. She'll come around."

"No she won't. She hates me," Willow looked up to her husband. "She's going to do everything that she can to try and get you back."

"She can do whatever she wants, but I'm all yours," Angel said as he gave Willow a gentle kiss, before turning to the others.

"Well, this isn't exactly how I planned for this evening to go."

Giles put a reassuring hand on the former vampire's shoulder, "I know. There's nothing we can do about it now though. Eventually Buffy will accept you and Willow together, just like the rest of us." Giles looked down at the girl whom he considered a daughter. "Why don't you take Willow upstairs. I think she can use a little down time. We'll show ourselves out."

Angel just nodded and picked up his wife. He carried her upstairs while the others grabbed their things and let themselves out. They didn't know what would happen with the former slayer, but they all knew that the next couple of days were going to be extremely difficult for Willow and Angel. They promised each other that they would all be there for the couple. As they parted at the street, none noticed the figure watching them.

"Soon, Angel. I'll have you back soon."
