Part 25

"Harmony?" Cordelia said as she watched the vampire turn to dust.  "She's
the evil that the prophecy talks about.  She isn't smart enough to plan her
lunch, let alone a major spell."
"Is it possible that this is another Harmony?" Giles asked.  Willow and
Cordelia looked at him.  "Right, so sorry."
"How many people can possibly be named Harmony in Sunnydale," Willow
asked."  But what is it that she is planning?  I mean, I've known that girl
all my life.  If she was that powerful of a demon, why would she act like
one of us.  I mean, she's been a Cordette for as long as I can remember."
"Tell me about it," Cordelia muttered.  "I can't believe I actually took
that girl under my wing.  What was I thinking?  All that time wasted on some
kind of evil thing.  To think that I taught her what to wear when going out
on her first date."  Spike held Cordelia close to him, his face finally
morphing back to his human features now that the excitment, and danger, had
passed.
"There, there, Cordy.  You had no way of knowing that she was a sorceress
out to destroy the world," he told his lover.  "You only saw her as a person
who needed some good fashion advice."  Cordelia stuck her tongue out at a
grinning Spike.
      "Bite me, Spike."
"Later, pet.  When we get home."  The other two couples groaned at the
playing between Spike and Cordelia.  "Right now, I think it's important that
we find out what is going on with your little high school buddy."
"Exactly," Giles agreed.  "Now that we know who is behind the prophecy, it
should be easier to figure out what she is planning."
"Great, so instead of movie night, we get to research instead," Faith
groaned.  "I think I would rather have sat through Something About Mary."
"Cheer up pet.  We could have run into Slutty and Wolfboy," Spike taunted.
"That is so not even funny, blondie," Faith shot back.
"I would have to agree with her on that one," Willow added.  "I would
rather not have this evening ruined anymore than it already it by having a
run in with those two."
"In that case, I would say it's time for us to leave," Cordelia commented,
looking over Willow's shoulder. "Because here come the gruesome twosome."
"Well, well, well, isn't this a coincidence, running into the group of you
tonight," Buffy said sweetly as she approached the three couples.  Her eyes
lit up as she saw Angel.  "Hi Angel."
"Buffy.  Oz.  What are you two doing out tonight?" Angel inquired, his
voice icy.
"Just out for a stroll," Buffy said.  "Saw a group of vampires headed this
way and decided to check it out.  Make sure there wasn't any trouble."
"Nope, no trouble at all," Willow said.  "Took care of them already.
Thanks for the help though."  Buffy glared pointedly at Willow as Oz walked
over to the red head.
"Hey," he greeted her.  "I've missed you."  Willow leaned closer to Angel.
"Feeling isn't mutual, I'm sure," she replied.
"Come on, Willow.  Don't you think its time that you and I got back
together," Oz asked.  "I mean, you know it's only inevitable that we be
together.  Just the way that its meant to be that Buffy and Angel are a
couple.  You're only postponing what's going to happen."
"The only thing that is going to happen is us leaving," Willow told him.
"Angel, are you ready to go home?"
"More than ready," he answered, taking her hand.  They began walking out of
the park, the other two couples following them.  Oz and Buffy watched as
they went out of sight.
"I don't get it," Buffy stated. "I mean, they're taking this anger thing a
little too far.  What we did wasn't that bad, was it?"
"No," Oz replied.  "I don't know about Angel, but Willow always was one to
get emotional over every little thing.  It was one of the reasons I love
her.  She'll get over it.  She has too."
      "And if she doesn't?"
"I don't know.  What about you?"  Oz turned to Buffy.  "What will you do if
Angel doesn't come back to you?"
"I refuse to let myself even think about that possibility," Buffy told him.
"I can't."  Suddenly Buffy straightened up as she heard a noise to their
side.  She looked over into the darkness and could just make out a shape,
not able to tell who it is.
      "Buffy?"
"Vampire," she whispered to Oz.  She removed the stake from her jacket
pocket.  "Okay, whoever you are.  I know you're there so why don't you just
come out."  Buffy and Oz waited to see what would happen.  The Slayer could
only sense one vampire, but that didn't mean that more weren't on the way.
Finally the figure emerge and the pair were surprised at who it was.
      "Drusilla."
"Hello Slayer," the dark vampire greeted her.  "You have a new pet."
"What do you want?" Buffy questioned.  "I thought you were in South America
somewhere.  What, did you miss Sunnydale so much that you had to visit."
"I came for my Spikey," the insane woman answered.  Buffy and Oz looked at
each other.
"Well, can't help you there," Buffy quipped.  "He just left."
"I know," the vampiress pouted.  "He was with that other one."
"What other one?" Oz inquired, wondering what Drusilla had seen.
"She smells all sweet and innocent," Drusilla said, her voice light and
airy as if she was somewhere distant.  "She's stolen my Spikey from me.  Its
she he calls princess now."
"And you're telling us this why?"
"Because it hurts you too, them together," Dru stated.  "Because her friend
has my Angel."
"He's not your Angel," Buffy bit back, her tone angry.  "He hasn't been
your Angel for a long time."
"But he isn't your Angel, either, is he Slayer?" The brunette calmly said.
"He is with the witch now."  Drusilla looked over at Oz.  "You want to be
with the witch, just like the Slayer wants to be with Angel?"
"Yes," Oz answered.  He didn't know what game the vampire was playing, but
he didn't want to anger her.
"We can help each other, you know," Drusilla said.
"What do you mean?" Buffy questioned.
"You can get your Angel," she explained.  "He can get his witch and I can
reclaim my Spikey.  Just as its suppose to be."
"We can get Angel and Willow back without your help," Buffy informed
Drusilla.
"And you've succeeded so well already in that haven't you Slayer," Dru
taunted.  "No, I believe it would be better for all of us if we helped each
other."
"I take it you already have a plan in mind," Oz said.  Drusilla nodded her
head.
"Miss Edith has told me how we can get our mates back where they belong."
Buffy and Oz looked over at each other.
"What do you think?" She asked the werewolf.
"We haven't been having the best of luck, especially since Xander took
off," Oz observed.  "I don't see where we really have much of a choice, do
you?"
"No."  Buffy turned back to the vampire.  "We're in.  So what's the plan?"
