Summary: We're still working in the early days of 2048 and Aishling Rosenberg is struggling to piece together all of the parts of the archive she is trying to create. Things don't always flow together smoothly... We find ourselves jumping about on the time line as Aish attempts to tell us the passed down secrets as clearly as she can...

Archivist's Note

It is now February 3rd, 2048 and although I have been working exclusively on the compilation of this archive , working day and night (okay, mostly night) for over two months now, I feel as though I'm getting NO WHERE!!

There is just so much material to work with. I am truly amazed at the amount of data my grandmother managed accumulate once she set her mind to it. The hardest part for me, and for you, I'm sure, is making sense of it all.

Thus far all I've managed to do is begin to tell you the story of how Angel and Aoífe met... Or should I say how they re-met, since it must be obvious to you by now that they had interacted prior to that Thanksgiving weekend in 2000.

And I have most likely managed to do nothing but confuse you by telling you how my grandmother and Angel came to be so close. We just all have to keep in mind that Aoífe did succeed in her attempt to bury everyone's memories of that "lost weekend" from August of 1999.

Still, once the bond between Angel and Willow had been formed, there was no keeping it from growing stronger. Where it was concerned, all Aoífe's magic did was cause the link to lay dormant for a short time and to weaken a bit while it hibernated. After all, there was really no sure way to keep those two apart for any great length of time. Angel's relationship with The Slayer made that almost impossible, in spite of the fact that he had moved to LA. And Willow remained one of Buffy's closest friends so some sort of interaction between Angel and my grandmother was inevitable.

Still and all, the way in which they came back together was much more appropriate. Slowly but surely the vampire and his secret consort built a friendship, a strong and loving friendship without any additional sexual activity. That friendship was a proper foundation for all that would come later. Neither one of them would remember what took place in the rainy garden until after they had met Aoífe. And even then, it was Grandmother who would remember first... The spell Aoífe had used on Angel had been augmented by The Powers That Be and he might never have remembered that my grandmother was his consort if she had not wished for him to do so. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Please read on and much more of this will become clear to you...
