Willow felt like she was drowning.  One minute she had been walking towards a light, the next she was spiralling downwards.  She heard voices
above her, and struggled to fight her way to the surface.

"She's conscious."  A nurse looked down at her.  Suddenly a light shined in her eyes, and she flinched.  She couldn't speak, there was a tube in her
throat.

"You're at the hospital.  You gave us quite a scare, but you're going to be okay."  Willow blinked rapidly, trying to work out what had happened.  She
remembered flashes, Angel, spells, exhaustion.  She brought her hand to her mouth and gestured.

"We'll remove the tube in a little while.  Just keep still."  The doctor moved to the otherside of the room, and Willow closed her eyes.

Angel had been watching all this from the doorway, desperate to rush in and hold her, but feeling that he had no right to do so.  The doctor came out
and moved a little way down the corridor.

"Are you a relative?"

"Not exactly...we're kind of..."  Angel struggled to define his relationship with Willow.

"You're in love?"  The doctor smiled kindly.  "I hear her sister is here.  I'll speak to her.  You can always listen."  Angel looked back at Willow one last
time before following the doctor out.

"Miss Rosenberg?"  The doctor entered the waiting room and studied the anxious faces.  Cordelia looked around, almost as if she expected Willow
to answer.  Giles nudged her, and she jumped startled.

"No it's Chase."  The others looked at her.  "I mean I'm married.  To Rupert."  Cordelia grabbed Giles's arm and held tight, whilst the others looked at
her as if she had grown three heads.

"Ah.  Right.  We were able to resuscitate your sister.  She should be fine.  We just need to run some tests to find out what happened.  Can any of
you tell me anything?"  The doctor shifted his gaze to include everyone crowded around him.  They exchanged glances.

"No.  We don't know anything.  Sorry."  Buffy answered for all of them.

"Can we see Willow?"  Xander was getting impatient.

"Soon.  We need to extubate her first - that is, remove the tube from her throat.  I'll send someone to get you when we've finished."

A collective sigh of relief heralded the doctor's departure.
