Willow's House
Willow poured some melted butter over the popcorn she'd just made and added a pinch of salt. Picking up the large bowl she also snagged a cup and the bottle of coke as she headed towards the living room. Angel looked up as she entered the room and smiling, moved to help her with her burden. They'd gotten into a routine over the past few days.
Since Willow's parents would be out of town for at least another week and they had no idea when Buffy and the other's would be back Angel would stay with Willow. It seemed the smartest thing to do, Angel would spend the night at Willow's and then head back to his own place just before the sun came up.
Tonight they'd decided to hire out a movie, Willow liked watching movies with Angel, and she liked having him around her. He always made her feel special and they'd become good friends over the past three days. Angel placed Willow's popcorn down on the table in front of them and then sat down on the couch. Willow poured herself out a glass of coke and placed it on the table beside the popcorn before sitting down beside Angel.
"So are we ready to watch Interview with the vampire?" Willow asked with an amused smile.
Angel smiled back and held up a glass of red liquid he'd just poured from a small bottle.
"I'd say so." he replied.
Willow had told him on the third day that she didn't mind if he fed
around her. She understood that he needed blood to survive and that if
they were going to be friends he should feel comfortable eating around
her. Willow pressed play on the remote and settled back next to Angel.
Later...
Willow gasped helplessly in laughter,
"Stop. Please--no more." she said between peals of laughter.
Angel chuckled softly and stopped tickling Willow,
"I am victorious." Angel said,
"Hey, no fair-- winning an argument through torture is way evil." Willow said, still gasping with small fits of laughter.
"All's fair in love and war, my friend." Angel said.
"How true." Victor said as he moved from the shadows by the front door.
Angel started from his sitting position and thrust Willow behind him, face morphed fully into its vampire visage.
"Who are you?" He growled.
"Tsk, tsk, really is that any way to treat a guest?" Victor admonished.
"I'm not in the mood for games, either identify yourself or I'll kill you." Angel growled moving forward.
Victor grinned, showing teeth.
"Such bravado, a male protecting his chosen mate, Oh, I do so enjoy seeing vampires in protective mode, it's positively breath taking. Unfortunately, I haven't the time for your strutting."
Victor gestured to the shadows,
"Take them." he said.
Several shadows detached from the darkness and moved towards Angel, they looked humanoid but their edges were blurred. Angel turned to Willow,
"I want you to run to your room and get out the window, I'll hold them off as long as I can." he whispered.
Willow shook her head in denial,
"No, I'm not going to leave you to fight them alone, I can help."
"No you can't, you know you can't cast, not with the currents being the way they are. I can take care of my self Willow. Please Willow, for me?"
Angel whispered back.
Willow sighed and then nodded,
"Okay, but if you get yourself killed, then I'll kill you." she said.
Angel grinned for a second and then turned back to the fight, he launched himself at the nearest shadow beast as Willow made a dash for the stairs.
Willow ran, hoping that Angel would be all right. Opening her bedroom window she quickly climbed out and made her way to the ground. She looked around wildly and wondered where she could go. There weren't that many safe places in Sunnydale. Then her mind latched onto a conversation she'd once had.
"If you ever need help, I'll be right here. After what you did I owe you big time." Spike's voice whispered from her memory.
'Of course, I'll get Spike, he'll be able to help Angel, if only to settle the debt with me." Willow thought as she ran off.
Victor looked down at Angel's unconscious form, the vampire had fought well but against shadow creatures no amount of skill would've saved him.
Victor gestured and one of the shadow beings crept forward, picking
up the vampire. Victor made another gesture and a portal opened in the
wall of the room. The shadow being walked through carrying Angel, the rest
of its brethren close behind. Victor took a moment to glance around the
room, it had been unfortunate that the girl had escaped but now that the
vampire was no longer around to protect her she would be easily found and
taken. It was only a matter of time.
"So, we've been here for what? Three days and no sign of any big scary monster's sealing my doom. What's more the little map in the O so ancient book of prophecy led us to a pet shop. So, who's with me in thinking that something's just a tad bit fishy?" Buffy said as she lay on the hotel room bed.
They'd spent the first day after they got off the plane working out hotel arrangements and hiring a car so they could get around. Then Cordelia had announced she was going shopping, because there was no way she was going to go home from New York without at least checking out some of the stores. Buffy had decided to go with her and had dragged Xander and Giles along to carry the packages which had used up the second day. If Giles had thought looking for the cause of the Slayer's impending doom a more urgent priority he'd learnt long ago not to try and argue with his Slayer when she decided to do something. Frankly, he would have had more chance of arguing with a brick wall.
Only on the third day had they gone looking for this supposed entranceway for the monster of the week, as Buffy liked to call it. Giles had pointed out that she was taking this a little to blasé. Buffy had retorted with the fact that she dealt with her own mortality on a daily basis and a monster out for her blood wasn't exactly any more terror inspiring then Principal Snyder in a bad mood. Giles had had to concede the point at that stage as he realized this was now old hat for his young friends. What he hadn't expected, what none of them had expected was that the prophecy might be false, as now seemed the case.
Giles had always relied on the books in his library to give him warning of anything that might threaten his Slayer; he'd thought them infallible, mixed with the message that was scrawled in blood on the wall he'd thought that something was in the air. It now appeared that they'd been led on a wild goose chase, what he didn't know was why.
"What possible reason could they have for sending us on a wild goose chase?" he asked.
"To get us out of Sunnydale probably." Cordelia said, not looking up from her nails, which she was painting.
The other three stared at her, Cordelia, noting the silence after a few minutes glanced up.
"What, Is something wrong with my hair?" she asked her hand going to her hair.
"No, we're just struck dumb by the inconceivable fact that you're probably right." Buffy answered.
"Why is that so inconceivable, I mean I do have a brain you know, just because I'm not nerd girl like Willow doesn't mean I can't think." Cordelia said angrily.
Buffy just waved her hand at Cordelia,
"Yeah, whatever, so if someone or thing wanted us out of Sunnydale we now have to ask the question why, right?" Buffy said.
"Obviously it was to get you out of Sunnydale Buffy, there wouldn't be any conceivable reason for whoever it was to want us gone as well. As to why there could be a hundred different reasons. I think we need to get back there as fast as we can. I just hope Willow and Angel can deal with whatever this is until we can get there."
Buffy and Xander's eyes widened in fear for their friend,
"Oh my God, I didn't even think, you don't really think they'd go after Willow do you?" Buffy asked.
Giles thought about it,
"Normally, I'd say no but now that Willow's been working on her spell
casting abilities they might see her as a threat. I think it's better that
we get back as fast as we can."
The wolf that had been Oz looked up from its meal of stag. It sensed
it should be worried about something, but it couldn't think of what. Its
wolfene mind tried to work it's way around a foreign concept that it had
no experience to deal with. A word came to the fore, Willow. The wolf raised
its muzzle to the sky and howled mournfully at the full moon.
"SPIKE!" Willow shouted as she ran into the main entrance of the mansion.
The mansion was silent and dead; Willow began to wonder whether Spike was even here.
'He has to be, he said he'd be here for another week at least.' Willow thought.
Spike had come back to Sunnydale after Dru's death, hoping for quick death at the Slayer's hands. He'd been attacked by the monster of the week when he'd arrived and Willow had luckily been there to help.
Frankly, Willow suspected that Spike would've killed the beast a few seconds later anyway. Spike had seen it as a debt he had to repay though. He'd told her he'd stay close by until he could find some way of doing so; living on top of a hellmouth Willow didn't expect that to be too far into the future.
Spike was still evil, he still killed and he did not attempt to hide the fact. Willow knew that he would have no compulsions about ending her life had it not been for the fact that she'd saved his. This favor she now had to ask him would end that little safety she'd had but for Angel's sake she could live with that.
"What is it ducks?" a voice came from out of the darkness behind her.
Willow whirled around, her eyes flashing angrily.
"Do you always have to do that? What is it with vampires, is lurking built into the gene's or something?" Willow snarled.
Willow had no time for Spike's little power games; frankly, at this moment in time she could've faced down a horde of Spike's if it'd save Angel.
Spike's face took on a look of concern. Although he would never admit it openly, he'd begun to like this human. She had a spark about her that glowed from within; he was the kind of man who could appreciate that. She also had this wild streak that her anger was now showing. Spike wondered idly what kind of vampire she might make, if it hadn't been for the fact he owed her his life he might have changed her already.
"Don't get your nickers in a knot love, what's all the fuss? Angel tried playing hide the salami with you and you came running to me for protection?" Spike asked with a wicked grin.
Willow blushed, a shade that Spike thought made her look particularly appealing.
'Now where did that come from?' he wondered as the thought passed across his mind.
"Spike, Angel's in trouble. This weird guy that looked like a mage just appeared in my living room. He summoned these shadow things and Angel told me to run. I didn't want to at first but then I thought about your promise. If you ever want to repay me for saving your life then now is it. I need you to help Angel, I don't think he can handle them alone."
Spike frowned, his sources had said there was a new player in town. They also said that he seemed to be staying out of sight for the most part.
"What did this guy look like, specifics." Spike said, moving out into the dull light.
Willow looked at him dumbfounded,
"Didn't you just hear what I said? Angel needs help, like now." Willow said.
Spike looked at her, and after a second, Willow began to feel uneasy under Spike's focused regard,
'Why does he always have to do that? I mean, for God's sake he makes me feel like a complete...'
"Angel can take care of himself, if they could take him down then my arrival isn't going to achieve much. By now, they would've already left and taken him with them anyway, if he didn't make it out. What I need to know is everything about this person I can so that we can get him back. Unless of course you have a better idea, if you do then I'm all ears ducks."
Willow glared at him resentfully, Angel was in danger and he was just standing around being sarcastic, Willow did not appreciate that one bit.
"No, I don't have a better idea, I wouldn't have come to you if I did. Whatever you might think Spike, you're not someone I'd come to for help unless necessary."
Spike took on a look of feigned hurt.
"You wound me deeply love, look this is me being wounded deeply." He said.
Willow sighed in resignation,
"Enough, this isn't getting us anywhere. What do you want to know?"
"Better ducks, much better, tell me everything you can remember about
the way he looked." Spike said, his face taking on the intent look of someone
on a mission.
Victor watched Angel has he struggled with the binding Victor had placed him in. He wouldn't be able to free himself of course. Victor had made sure when he forged them they would be able to withhold a vampires strength.
Victor turned from the struggling Angel and observed the other half of his plan. She was talking to another vampire, Victor did not like this turn of events.
'How could I have missed this one, everything I planned could fall apart. I must find some way of getting her away from him before the spell I cast on her activates.' He thought silently to himself. Victor had taken the precaution of casting a sex magic spell on Willow a few hours ago. So that if his attempt to take the pair failed his plan might still work. It was set to make any vampire within her vicinity immediately start getting the urges to mate. He'd also thrown in theadded precaution of making the spell work the other way as well. Willow would find herself unable to resist any vampire within her range when the spell went off. Victor had traced the exact day down to the hour of when she would be most likely to bear a child. He would have to begin casting the spell that would enable the vampire to be fertile for that one moment when it was needed.
If he could not use the vampire he had chosen for her, if he could not somehow get her here before that time he supposed he would have to take his chances with this new one.
'Why is it that as soon as you have the perfect plan something comes along to spoil it?' Victor thought.
Angel's thoughts were fuzzy and his head seemed to be twice its normal size, or at least that's the way it felt to him. He opened his eyes and tried to focus on his surroundings but it was all just one big blur. He remembered scattered images of last night, or at least he thought it was last night, he couldn't be so sure of time.
Angel hoped Willow had gotten away. He couldn't bare it if she'd been captured as well. Angel admitted to himself that he'd begun feeling more then simple friendship for the shy, young hacker. Indeed if he didn't know better, he might think he was falling in love with Willow.
Buffy and he had talked a lot since Willow rescued him from hell. Angel had tried to apologize for all that he'd done but Buffy wouldn't hear about it. She said that it was in the past and better forgotten, just as their relationship was best left in that past as well.
It had hurt at first, he knew that the Slayer was right though, a relationship such as they'd had, was doomed to failure from the start. It was much better now, they were friends and both Buffy and Angel were more comfortable now with each other then they had been when they were lovers. There were still moments of awkwardness, times when the pain of what had happened when he'd lost his soul surfaced between them. They avoided each other at those times, Angel knowing that the Slayer needed time to deal with it, knowing that he needed time to deal with it himself.
He knew now that the prophecy Giles had found must have been false, set up by whoever that man who'd attacked him and Willow was. He hoped the Slayer and her friends would be okay, he was more concerned now though for himself and more importantly Willow.
"So, the vampires awake, hello Angel, did we have a nice rest? I hope so because you're not going to be getting much sleep in a little while." Victor said with a small chuckle.
Victor was in a good mood, the appearance of another vampire had surprised
him but with a little careful thought and planning, he realized that his
plan could still succeed. The stakes had just been raised a little was
all and if there was, anything Victor liked more it was a game with high
stakes.
Elsewhere in Sunnydale...
"What are you doing ducks?" Spike asked as he entered one of the main bedrooms.
Willow merely waved her hand at him in irritation and continued to type, the keys clicking at high speed as her hands moved across the keyboard in a blur. Spike raised an eyebrow and a corner of his mouth twitched upwards in what might have been a smile. It was strange that the girl who a few months ago might have run screaming from him was now treating him as little more then an annoying distraction.
'The girls got some spunk.'
Moving up behind her, he peaked over her shoulder, reading quickly. She seemed to be talking to several people, scattered around her on the table were a pile of notes and books. Leaning forward with a smile, Spike moved his lips close to her ear.
"Willow?" he whispered.
Willow's neck went goosepimply and she looked up from her work, there was something very disconcerting about having a vampire whisper in your ear. The fact that there was no breath accompanying the resultant sound combined with the fact that Spike really did have the most gorgeous English accent made her knee's go all gooey.
Willow stared back into Spike's blue eyes, her own lit with the fires of irritation and not a little lust.
"What do you want, Can't you see I'm busy?
Spike chuckled yet again; she really was a firecracker,
"Love, I'm not the one that wanted me to rescue Angel, you'll be happy to know that I've found him."
Willow's smile was like sunshine,
"You have? Of course you have, cause' you wouldn't tell me you had when you hadn't, did you get him out?"
Spike shook his head,
"No such luck ducks, the place is warded tighter then a virgin's chastity belt. I have no idea who this guy is but you've gotten yourself into serious bad trouble love."
Willow nodded and sighed,
"I thought as much, I've been talking to some of my pagan friends, they think it might be Victor."
"And who my little hacker friend is Victor?"
"Well, if it is Victor then we are in serious brown stuff. I'm trying to find out if I can contact anyone from his sect, so we can find out if it is him or not."
"What's so bad about this Victor guy, ducks?"
Willow stared back at Spike with irritation,
"Do you mind not calling me that, I am not a duck and nor am I your love. Victor is a mage; he belongs to a rather obscure sect that likes to keep to itself. They're mostly known by reputation, since they're rarely seen. I think the members probably created most of the myths surrounding the sect frankly. Its not as if you'd recognize them after all, even what I saw of Victor, despite the rather outlandish clothes, looked normal. "
"Lov..Duc..Willow, do you mind getting to the point, I haven't got all night." Spike said.
Willow grinned at Spike,
"There, see that wasn't so hard. The point is that this sect is powerful. All the members are held in an almost religious awe by the rest of the magical community. This Victor guy is their only mistake, as far as I can see. He was banished from the order after he attempted to create a Dhampir that's a half human, half-v..."
"I know what a Dhampir is Willow, every vampire does, they're killed on sight."
"They're what?"
"Killed on sight, usually right after birth if possible, you have no idea how powerful those things could be. Imagine a creature with all the benefits of a human and a vampire, immortality, the works and none of the disadvantages. They would wipe out both races in a matter of centuries, the Dhampir gene is always the most dominant."
Willow looked at Spike in surprise; Spike shook his head in irritation when he noticed her look.
"Willow, just because I'm blond, I'm not stupid. It might surprise you to know that I have read a few books in my time, some of them even with words rather then pictures." Spike said, grinning.
Willow smiled and winked,
"Who'd a thunk it, now do you mind leaving me alone to my work. I've got to find out if this is our guy."
"What're you planning to do if it is?"
Willow's eyes took on a haunted look and she shivered slightly,
"Hope that it's not him Spike, cause' if it is, we're royally screwed."
A plane somewhere over the United states, heading towards Sunnydale...
Giles sighed for what seemed the thousandth time,
'Mental note: never ever, ever travel on a plane with teenagers again. If anyone should suggest such a course of action, commit savage violence on their person and then politely refuse to even think about it.'
Giles had just spent the last hour trying to fend off both Cordelia's and Buffy's attempts to bully him to asking the new science teacher out on a date. The bored teenagers had then seen fit to argue almost incessantly with each other over who was the best singer Tori Amos or Sarah Mclachlan.
Only after Giles had finally snapped, and in a tone of voice that would be considered shouting for him, told them he would cheerfully throw both girls from this plane if they did not cease and desist had they agreed that both singers had equal merit.
Buffy stared out the plane window, worrying about Willow and Angel.
'God, I guess I don't talk to you much and all. I've been kinda angry
with you lately for the whole Slayer thing and then making me kill Angel
that time and everything. I was always taught that your were looking out
for us and then, you just never answered any of my prayers, you know? Anyway,
I guess I just want to try this once more, please, please if you really
exist, if you're really listening to anyone's prayers, please keep them
safe.
Willow's my best friend; she's stuck by me for so long, even when I
was being a mega bitch queen from hell. She came after me that time when
I left; I never had anyone care about me that much. Please, let Angel be
able to take care of her for me, and if you're not to busy, take care of
him as well. I don't love-love him anymore, I don't think I ever really
did, not the forever kind of love. I still love him though, friend kind've
love and I don't have that many friends that I can afford having them die
on me.'
Xander brushed his hand across Cordelia's hair and thought about the luck that had given her to him. He sometimes scared himself with the depth of love he had begun to feel for her. He couldn't be sure, but he thought that she felt the same way, he hoped she did.
'She's so beautiful, but it isn't just that, she's smart as well, not Willow smart, no one could be as smart as Willow, but she's smart. God, I can't believe I love her so much, if someone had told me that one day I'd be going out with Cordelia I'd have laughed at them but feeling her asleep in my arms at the moment, just feels so right.'
Cordelia dreamed...
Cordelia walked down a hallway, a window up ahead is shining light into its dusty confines. She knocks on the door at the end of the hallway and entered the room when a soft voice called for her to come in. Cordelia smiled when she saw the petite red-haired girl lying in the big double bed. She was propped up against a mass of pillow's and the sun streamed in from the double bay windows to her left. A small bundle was held in the teenager's arms, Cordelia sat down on the edge of the bed.
"How're you feeling Willow?" she asked.
"Better, they brought in some blood before so I could feed her. They said she'd need both my milk and the blood. Did you talk to Spike?"
"Yeah, just before he left, he talked to us all. He told Giles he was leaving because he needed to fix things back in Sunnydale before we returned. Something about making it safe for a Dhampir to live their. I got the impression that he's going to have to bust some heads."
"Yeah, he told me that as well, seems that Dhampir's aren't all that welcome in either the vampire or the Watcher community. Giles is going to have to do some pretty fast talking to his superiors to get them to understand why Sera here hasn't been destroyed."
Cordelia smiled as she watched the baby open her eyes at the sound of her name. Cordelia could see Willow's bone structure in the child's face and Willow's red hair, but the eyes were definitely those of her father.
"I don't know how anyone could want to hurt her."
"No ones ever going to hurt either you or her while I'm around."
Cordelia turned and saw...
Cordelia opened her eyes and saw Xander staring down at her, reaching her hand up she brushed it across his cheek, feeling stubble,
"You're going to have to shave again." She whispered, sleepily.
"Yeah, just go back to sleep, we've still got awhile before we land." He said softly.
Cordelia smiled and closed her eyes, trying to remember what it was she'd wanted to tell Xander. In the back of her mind she heard a babies chuckle.
'I'm sure I'll remember later.' was her last thought before she faded back into the realm of sleep.
Willow rubbed her eyes and wearily switched off the laptop in front of her. She'd spent hours trying to find anything on this sect but had come up with nada. It was like they were all ghosts, if any existed then they certainly had some talent. It would take talent to keep that well hidden.
Willow stretched her back, rubbing at her neck. She really had to stop spending so much time at the computer, or at least start doing some exercises every few hours.
Willow stepped away from the seat she'd been sitting at and began to work on some stretches. Giles had started training her a few months ago when she'd asked about learning some self-defense techniques. She'd used the reasoning that Buffy couldn't always be around to protect her from the vampires, so she should know a little bit about protecting herself.
Willow has since then combined the knowledge of Giles teaching with several other techniques that she'd researched on the inter-net. It gave her a unique style that was also a good way of working out kinks in tired muscles.
"Anyone ever tell you what a babe you are Willow?" Spike asked from the darkness.
Willow didn't stop working out, she couldn't have cared less at the moment what Spike was doing watching her when he should be out finding a way of rescuing Angel. Willow was in zanshin, complete focus, while still being aware of everything around her.
"Did you find out anything on this guy?" Willow asked as she moved, dropping into a crouch, before rolling and then kicking upwards with one leg.
Spike watched Willow practice, he'd meant what he said, she really was
the most beautiful, delightful morsel. The demon within him urged him to
take her, possess her, make her his but he pushed it back irritably. Spike
had made a promise and while that promise stood, he would not harm her.
Afterwards was a whole other matter.
Spike smiled as he imagined this woman beside him for all eternity,
it was a picture he liked. Sure, she would be upset at first; she might
even try to kill him. Spike smiled at the thought of her temper, she was
at her most delicious when she was angry.
"No such luck Willow, wherever this guy is, his keeping it quiet. Suns up, but I'll see what I can do tomorrow night."
Willow sat on the floor before Spike and looked up at him from her lotus position with an inquiring look.
"Shouldn't you be asleep?" she asked.
"I'm going now, I wanted to see whether you were okay." Spike said.
"I'm fine Spike, go and get some sleep."
"Yes Spike, go and sleep." Victor said coming from the shadows.
Victor grabbed Willow, and grinned at Spike, Willow struggled, and Spike jumped at Victor, his demon in full evidence.
"Oh please, spare me the theatrics." Victor said as he brushed the vampire aside with a wave of his hand.
Looking down at the struggling Willow, he then brushed his hand over her face, as he muttered one guttural word. Willow's form went limp in his arms and he lifted her up more fully, placing an arm under her knees.
"Just how do you think you're going to get out of here?" Spike growled, looking for a way of getting to Victor without hurting Willow.
"Like this." Victor said, and with a word, he was gone.
Spike cursed, and looked around,
'Dammit, where'd the bastard go?' Spike wondered.
Spike was worried, no one had ever defeated him that easily before,
the guy, whoever he was had brushed him aside as if he was, well, human.
Spike had respected Willow's wishes in not contacting the Slayer, but now
there was no other choice.
Willow awoke her mind groggy, it took her a moment to remember what had happened, Willow looked around and spied a figure hanging from what looked like chains a few yards away. Willow started as she realized it was Angel,
'Oh God, Angel what has that bastard done to you?' she wondered as she moved towards him quickly.
Angel seemed to be okay, except for the fact that he was unconscious. Willow looked down and noted that there was a circle carved into the floor around where Angel hung. Willow stood on the edge of the circle, weighing up her choices in her mind before stepping across with a determined look. Angel was her friend; she couldn't just leave him hanging there, even if that meant stepping inside a spell circle.
Angel groaned and moved as she stepped inside the circle and Willow quickly moved to his side. Her hands moved to the chains and she noticed that the catches were quite simple. Anyone could have undone them, unless they were hanging from them of course. Willow quickly untied them and caught Angel as he fell. He was heavier then she had imagined and his weight bore her down to the ground under him.
Angel groaned and shifted, his face burrowing into her neck. Willow gasped as she felt him nuzzle her, his lips sliding over her skin.
'Oh God, what the hell is going on? Oooo, that's nice. No, I can't let this happen, it must be some spell, but it feels so goooood....' Willow's thoughts streamed across her conscious mind, as her body reacted to the unconscious signals coming from Angel.
Willow felt Angel's hand slide up under her shirt and his fingers tickled across her stomach.
'Dammit.' Was Willow's last coherent thought as the spell took her fully.
Victor smiled and turned back towards the book in his hand, the plan
was going perfectly, now all he had to do was say the spell. He began to
chant, his voice moving up and down in perfect tone. Words dripped from
his lips, harsh words, evil words.
Giles sighed in relief as he and the three teenagers entered the school library. Finally, the horror was over. Cordelia leaned against Xander tiredly, his arm was supporting her.
Buffy moved straight for one of the tables and hoped up onto it, looking at Giles.
"So, what now?" she asked.
"Now, you listen to me." Spike said, coming out of the darkness.
Buffy was up from the table and halfway across the room before Giles called out to her to halt. Buffy glared at Spike,
"Why?" she asked.
"Because, he wouldn't have come here unless it were urgent. Exactly what do want Spike? If it's simply to be annoying I will let Buffy slay you, I am not in the mood for foolishness." Giles said.
"Well, if Angel and Willow being taken by some guy from a bizarre reclusive sect and probably being used in some bizarre ritual to make a Dhampir is urgent then yes, I believe we have things to discuss." Spike said irritably.
Giles eyes widened,
"Did you say Dhampir?" he asked in shock.
"Yeah, Willow found out about a guy called Victor who's been looking for a way to make one for a while now."
Buffy narrowed her eyes,
"So where is the bastard and how long have Angel and Willow been gone?"
Spike turned towards the Slayer,
"Angel, for about a day, as for Willow, only about two hours. As for where? I'll lead you there if you like. His got some tough guards though." Spike said.
Buffy smiled in confidence,
"Hey, I'm the Slayer, So when do we leave?" She said simply.
"Not till tonight, I can't go out in the daylight and there are no tunnels in that part of town." Spike said.
Buffy began to pace in irritation,
"Damn, I guess we'll just have to wait then, unless you'd care to just share the location with us."
"Wouldn't do you any good Slayer, you might be able to find the place but without my help you'll never get inside." Spike explained.
"I think you're underestimating me Spike, that's not a good thing to do." Buffy said.
"I never underestimate anyone Slayer, I'm just telling it how I see it. You wouldn't last two seconds against what his got alone."
Xander had been watching the exchange between the two with only vague interest. He hadn't heard much of it after Spike had informed them of Willow's disappearance.
"Dead boy, you'd better protect her or by God, I'll stake you myself." He thought, Xander wouldn't usually trust Angel as far as he could throw him but now Angel was all Willow had.
End Part 10
