I was gonna wait till I had this all finished but I wanted to get what I had done out there.  I wanted to see if there was an interest because this is gonna be(hopefully) a long, intricate series. If people love it I'll write more if people hate it I'll admit defeat and pat myself on the back for at least giving it a try.  Also if anyone wants it just ask.

~Part: 1~

Willow made her way through the bronze, which was busier than usual. The band, Burning Witches, was playing that night.  Willow had heard of the band's cool special effects; she remembered hearing something about setting things on fire.  Willow continued to walk through the crowd trying to search for Oz.  Suddenly a young woman bumped into Willow; the girl clumsily spilled her coke all over Willow.

Willow looked down at her soaked shirt and started to feel rather pissed off..  She looked up and that pissed off feeling quickly disappeared.  Willow was mesmerized by the beautiful creature before her .

"OH…uh….I'm…s..sorry,"  the girl was awkward but Willow could only see the good within her.

Willow felt a hand grab her shoulder and turned to see Oz there. Willow quickly turned around to see if the girl was still there but it was as if she disappeared.

"Hey, baby, where's the fire?"

"Huh?"  Willow asked while turning around back to look at Oz.

"I said I got a table up close to the stage."  Oz put his arm around his girlfriend and led them to their table.  Willow sat down and was amazed at the great table Oz was able to get.  They weren't the only ones sitting at the table; Jonathan and Tucker's brother was with them as well.

Suddenly the whole place got quiet and everyone's eyes were transfixed on the stage where the curtain was closed.  On the loud speaker a voice started to announce the beginning of the show.

"Ladies and Gentlemen.  Boys and Girls.  The Bronze is proud to present the spectacular….sensational…sizzling…Burning Witches!"

The curtain opened and Willow was horrified to see what was on stage.  That beautiful girl she saw earlier was tied to a pole. The girl was trying to speak, scream actually, but she couldn't because she was gagged.  On her right was a trashy looking blonde in a skimpy red dress with a bad perm.

"I know, I know there couldn't possibly be anyone more fabulous than me!"  On the other side of the crying girl was a Sunnydale High student, Warren Meers, "I am a super cool super Villain!"  Warren exclaimed right before he lit his match. He threw the match so that the shy, terrified blonde tied to the pole went up in flames.

"NO!  YOU CAN'T!  She's so good!"  Willow cried franticly but realized she was alone or at least thought she was alone.

"Your right she is good that's what turns me on about her.  She's more innocent than you.  I thought you were innocent but your not. There's darkness inside you."  Willow looked at the figure standing before her.  "Angel?"

"Angelus."  He calmly said as he went over to Willow. Willow felt strangely calm even though the last time she saw this demon he threatened to kill her and all her friends.  Angelus looked into her eyes and Willow felt as if he was looking right into her soul; In that moment Willow knew no one would understand her more than this creature.  He raised his hand to gently caress her cheek, "I'm going to help you let your dark side out."

"BEEP!"

Willow sat up straight in her bed feeling confused and empty.

~Part: 2~

Willow went through her school day as usual; nothing seemed to be too out of the ordinary. As she walked into math class she tried not to dwell on her dream but there was something unsettling about it.  She thought maybe she had a prophetic dream.  Maybe there was an innocent girl who was going to be brutally murdered.

She tried to figure out what everything meant but no one on the stage was familiar to her except Warren.  Could Warren really be an evil mastermind?  Just as that thought crossed her mind, Warren walked in with Jonathan at his side.  Willow couldn't help but take note of him; she was trying to pick up on any evil clues Warren might exhibit.  He wore a pair of Jeans and a t-shirt that said, "The Truth is Out There."  "No way, butt munch, Connery is Bond!" Warren seemed to be quite upset on whatever suggestion Jonathan had made.

Willow couldn't help herself from laughing out loud.  Her classmates turned to stare at Willow as if she had two heads.  Willow composed herself and sighed.  Thinking that Warren could be an evil genius was the most ridiculous thought she ever had.  No one that geeky could be evil's right hand man.

Also Willow realized that it's also equally ridiculous to think that she would have a prophecy dream.  Prophecy dreams are something for the slayer and not a nobody like Willow Rosenberg.  However, Willow was perplexed about what the whole Angelus part of the dream.  She tried to reassure herself it was nothing but something bothered her.

Willow went through her day as usual.  At the end of school, she went to the library as usual.  She opened the door and saw Buffy sitting at one of the tables.  Buffy looked up; she had been crying.

"Buffy what's wrong?" Willow went to hug her friend, "What did he do to you?"

"I got a present this morning.  There was a box in my locker and I opened it and…there was a heart…a tiny heart…there's no way it was big enough to be a grownups'…" Buffy began to cry and held Willow so tight that she almost couldn't breath. Buffy finally let Willow go after a few moments and seemed more composed.

"Where's Giles?" Willow asked.

"At a faculty meeting." Buffy half chuckled at this thought but Willow could still see the sadness in her eyes.  "I'm going to try to find him tonight and when I do I'm going to…maybe I can reach Angel… maybe we can find that old gypsy spell…It isn't Angel doing these things, right?"

"No, it isn't Angel." Willow thought to herself that maybe she should tell Buffy that it was hopeless; even if they could get Angel back, was it worth it?  Willow couldn't let herself think that way. Willows always wanted to believe in happy endings.

~Part: 3~

Angelus was quite amused with himself; this latest prank was one to remember.  "The slayer thinks getting a baby's heart was something? Huh.  Wait till I pull her heart out."  Angelus had done many terrible things in his life but loving someone that was pure and good was the worst of his crimes; he had to punish Buffy for making him do something so hideously human.

"OH, shut up you ponce!  You're supposed to be the Big Bad but you're just like all the other wankvamps.  All talk and no show."  Spike moaned as he rolled into the room in his wheelchair.  Angelus put his game face on and kicked Spike's wheelchair with all his might.  "I'll show you rollerboy…"

"Daddy, don't be so angry." Druscilla pouted; she hated when her boys fought about things that had nothing to do with her.  She went over to Spike and picked him up with the gentlest of hands,  "My poor Spike.  I brought back a pretty little girl and she has lots and lots of warm, delicious blood whooshing in her veins; do you want her?" She put Spike back into his wheelchair and gave him a kiss on his forehead.

"Dru, there's no more blood; you already sucked her dry." Dru didn't appreciate the irritation in Spike's voice.  "Mmm…how could I forget? She tasted so yummy."  Dru brushed her fingers over her lips and she closed her eyes in that way she does when she goes off into her world.

"Anyway, as I was saying, I'm ready for the next step but I'm waiting for the next player to step into the game."  Angelus was quite determined to see his plan be realized.  "You sure this darkness is close to the slayer?"

"Mmmm…strawberries.  That's what she tastes like," Dru went back into her dream world again and started to do her little dance, "oh, Angelus, you'll like how she tastes.  Such a wicked little strawberry."  Dru just kept on dancing and both Spike and Angelus sighed and shook their heads.  Angelus had so much fun making Dru nuts but in retrospect it's proved to be a nuisance.  She always went crazy when he needed to know the important stuff.

"I thought we moved off the subject of your pretty little girl," Angelus was not amused, "but I'll take that as a yes anyway." Angelus realized he was unable to rely on Dru to find out who the key figure in this plan would be.  Even though he didn't like it, he was forced to use his back up plan.

~Part: 4~

All the Scoobies, Cordelia, Oz, Xander, and Willow, were gathered in the library during lunch period. It had been a long day and everyone, except Cordelia, was anxious to hear Buffy's report from the previous night's patrol. Buffy sat slumped in her chair; her eyes had dark circles around them. "I checked all the places he normally lurks and I found nothing." Just as soon as Buffy finished saying this, the doors opened and a familiar face stormed in.

"I'm here to warn you; something bad is going to happen unless you do something about it." Ethan Rayne was always melodramatic. Giles, as if instinct, went straight into Ripper mode by rushing out of his seat and giving Ethan a good right hook.  "Ow!  Ripper, that wasn't very nice." Ethan said as he got up feeling his jaw.

"Why the hell would you ever come back?  We don't have time for your nonsense." Giles was very calm yet stern.  Buffy got out of her seat and walked over to Ethan.  "Ethan, your not the brightest crayon in the box are you? You know this is a hellmouth, right?  Every single day something bad happens so there's no new revelations here." Buffy reached over and was ready to kick his bothersome ass out the door.

"Listen, Buffy, hear me out.  I have news about Angelus." Ethan certainly had Buffy's attention now.  "Talk fast." Buffy's face grew serious and Ethan was quite terrified; being punched around by Ripper was one thing but an ass kicking from a slayer could take months to recuperate from.

"Well, I started to get suspicious when one of my chaos spells wasn't going well.  There was something in the mystical energy around here getting in the way, something extra bad than usual.  I talked with other chaos mage's and they were having the same problem.  One night I decided to get a drink at Willy's and there were a few vamps who were bragging about their master Angelus' grand plan of doing a spell that will destroy the world," Ethan managed to say this all in one breath; he stepped away from Buffy and then added, "Please don't hurt me."

Buffy rolled her eyes and backed away from Ethan. "Okay, I'm not gonna hurt you…yet."  Giles eyed Ethan suspiciously, "How can we trust you?  Every time you've come to us before, you've lied."

"A valid point indeed, but I'm telling the truth now; besides you know I hate anything that will mean my early death."  Ethan seemed almost sincere.

"I hate to admit this but he has indirectly helped us before.  If it wasn't for Ethan, I would have never gotten my military training and the Judge wouldn't have been blasted away." Xander finally piped up and Giles instantly gave him a dirty look.

"Ripper, I'm not evil incarnate; I just like to play a few pranks once and awhile." Ethan put on his most earnest face.    Giles almost believed him, "Alright, perhaps we all can give you the benefit of the doubt, but if it turns out you've been lying I'll have to…"

"Yes, yes, yes, I know; you'll have to give me a good thrashing." Ethan thought about this for a second; maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea after all. "The spell that he's doing requires a human being.  A human who happens to have extraordinary mystical power, but has a dark soul as well.  The human's power is taken to put the spell in effect; I do know this being is in…"

"Let me guess. Um…Sunnydale?" Cordelia finally interrupted.  She couldn't understand why she had to be at this meeting; she was quite bored and zoned out as soon as Buffy started talking.  Sure she's helped them before, but that's only because her life was involved. She's also trying to be the good girlfriend but it wasn't like her boyfriend was a superhero. Although she would never tell it to Xander, being commando guy one night did not count as having any special skills.

"That's right.  Hopefully we can find out where this creature is. There's a spell we can use but I need to get things from the Magic Box first." The bell rang announcing the end of the lunch period.  It was decided that Cordelia, Oz and Xander would go to class as usual. Giles and Willow would go start on the research because that's what they usually did in a crisis and Ethan was to go to the Magic Box. Buffy was to stay in the library, not because she was needed for anything in particular, but because Buffy never went to class.

Ethan was ready to head out of the library and just as he was walking out the door he, and the other three, were startled by the sound of glass shattering.  Something was thrown through the window; all four of them rushed to see what it was, it was a rock that had a message written in blood on it.  "Meet Me at St. Bernadette's.  Ooh now that's a scary message.  Isn't St. Bernadette's a church?"  Buffy asked looking up from the rock.

"Yes, but, Buffy, I don't think you should go." Giles' voice was filled with concern.  "No way, Giles!  I can end it right now." Buffy didn't give Giles a chance to answer, she ran out the door.

"Ripper, maybe you should go and stop her.  It could be a trap.  I'll still go to the magic shop and Red here should still look up any information she can find on mind control spells"

"Your right. I'll have to move fast; she's probably half way there by now."  Giles said this as he ran out the library doors. Ethan followed out after him.

~Part: 5~

Willow went through many of Giles' books but came up with nothing. About three class periods had passed and she was starting to get bored and tired.  It didn't help that she didn't know what to look for.  Ethan did say that she should look for mind control spells but that was odd.  What did a mind control spell have to do with anything they were dealing with?  Willow always tried to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but she couldn't help herself. She didn't trust Ethan.

Willow looked up at the clock.  Where could they be?  Willow wished Giles were there because he would have probably found what they were looking for an hour ago. Willow wondered when her life became so crazy.  It seemed like yesterday when she was just the average, American high school geek and now she had a werewolf boyfriend and a superhuman friend. Even so, Willow was still average and average is useless when your best friend is a super hero; all she had to do was look through some books to find some information and she couldn't even do that right.  At least she knew how to work a computer; a skill that sometimes came in handy.  Even so was it worth it? For all the times her life was in peril she probably caused more problems for Buffy rather than help her.

Right before Willow's pity party could really get started, Ethan walked into the library.  Willow was startled a bit and made a slight gasp.

"The slayer and Ripper back yet?"  Ethan asked very casually.

"Uh, no.  You were gone for quite some time. Where's all the magic stuff you were supposed to…"

"Robbed.  I was robbed." Ethan wasn't the best of liars.  "I was attacked by demons and I had to fight them off."

"You fought them off?"  Willow's eyes were wide with disbelief.

"Well, actually I ran away.  Left everything there but I still have this."  Ethan pulled what looked like a gem out of his pocket.  "This is what's important."  It was a strange bluish green color and was in a perfect diamond shape.  Willow had seen nothing like it before.

Willow eyed it intensely, she felt as if she was in a trance.  "Now that's a rock." Willow shook her head and looked at Ethan with an inquisitive stare.

"It's the Gem of Vleda.  It will help us find the human with the mystical power."  Ethan was looking at her strangely.

"Oh good."  Willow picked up a few books and got up.  She walked past Ethan and put the books on Giles desk.  Ethan couldn't help himself, but being the dirty old man that he was, checked out Willow.  She wore a bulky purple sweater that hid her figure and a purple skirt with yellow flowers. She didn't have the greatest fashion sense but even so Ethan thought she was very much the cutie. She wasn't the sexpot that the slayer or the Chase girl was but Ethan often thought it was more fun to corrupt the innocent.

In all his years he was never jealous of Rupert Giles.  However, if he knew being a Watcher meant spending all your time with beautiful, young girls and boys he may have taken a totally different path.He thought it was interesting how Willow reacted to the gem.  Maybe? No it couldn't be. Still it's worth a shot.  It was never a good thing when Ethan started thinking.  "Willow, take the gem for a bit." Ethan handed Willow the gem.

As soon as she touched it she felt as if something went through her body.  She fell back and Ethan caught her.  "Are you alright, luv?" Ethan looked concern.

Willow pushed Ethan away angrily, "What is that thing?  What are you trying to do to me?"

"Nothing! I'm sorry I didn't realize…what I mean is…that's a very powerful item and I guess some people who aren't strong enough can't handle it."

"I can handle it."  Willow wasn't so sure but she didn't want to show any signs of weakness.

Ethan chuckled, "I'm sure you can.  I guess you can never judge a book by its cover."

"Huh?"   She was starting to feel even more uncomfortable with being alone with him and yet she didn't want to let him get to her.  She desperately wanted to prove to herself that she could be strong for once so she tried to fight every urge to run out of the library.

"Here take another look."  Ethan's eyes were filled with mischief.

"Yes, I think I will because I can handle it.  I am so all over the handling."  Willow had her resolve face on.  She took the gem again in her hand.  She felt that overwhelming feeling take hold of her but she was determined to stay calm.  Ethan stared at her smirking knowing that she would crack under the pressure.  Finally Willow couldn't hold any longer and she collapsed, Ethan catching her once again.

Ethan helped her over to the table where she sat down on the chair. She was still holding onto the gem.  She knew she was still in the high school library but it was like she was somewhere else as well. Ethan thought he would take advantage of the situation and forcefully began kissing her.  Willow was non-responsive at first but then an over powering passion swept her body and she kissed Ethan back with double the force much to Ethan's surprise.

All of a sudden Willow wasn't kissing Ethan she was kissing Angel. She wasn't in the library anymore.  Actually she didn't know where she was.  All she knew was it was her and Angel and it was as if they were starving for each other.  The next thing she knew she was on the floor, still holding the gem in her hand, Angel was kissing and licking her neck.  He didn't wear a shirt just those delicious leather pants.  Her free hand was stroking Angel's bare back.

She could feel his left hand going up her leg, up her skirt, moving her panties aside.  He put a finger inside her; she was incredibly wet.  She was kind of embarrassed because she never had been turned on like that before and didn't know if all that wetness was normal. She let go of the gem so that she could put her hand through Angel's hair but something was wrong.

It wasn't Angel with her anymore it was Ethan.

"OH MY GOD!"  Willow pushed Ethan off of her and got up to make herself more decent.  "I think I'm going to be sick. You perverted, pervy pervert!"  Willow was on the brink of tears

"Wait a second!  What's with this mood swing?  Nutty bird."  Ethan was quite frustrated; he needed a cold shower desperately.  "You were begging for it a minute ago."

"Haven't you English heard of the term `jailbait' or `rape'? Willow's face was red

"Wait a second this was not rape. We didn't even…"

"We almost."  Willow felt like she was going to throw up again.  It was true she did want it.  Not from Ethan but from Angel.  How could she think that way?  Willow was disgusted most with herself.  Willow thought for a moment and decided it would be best to forget about it.  Besides how would it sound if she said, "Buffy, I was kissing Ethan because I thought I was getting it on with Angel."  That scenario probably would not turn out well at all.

"I won't tell if you won't."  Willow looked up at Ethan and spoke in almost a whisper.

The doors opened and Buffy came in disheveled with dirt all over her clothes.  This was the first time Willow ever saw Buffy's hair a mess so there was no doubt in Willow's mind that whatever happened it was horrible.  Giles walked in slowly; he was even more disheveled than Buffy and he had cuts and bruises all over his face and arms.  He probably had more but his clothes hid those other injuries.

"Buffy, Giles…"

"We're alright, Will." Buffy smiled reassuringly at Willow.

"What happened?"

"I'll give you the Reader's Digest version." Buffy sighed and continued, "I went there and Angelus wasn't there but his minions were. Fought. Got trapped. Fought. Somehow ended up in an underground layer. Fought. Tried to figure out how to get the hell out of there and couldn't.  Then we…um,." Buffy gave a look to Giles but he just looked away and started to clean his glasses,  "rested.  Finally figured out a way to escape.  Fought.  Now we're here."  Buffy looked at Willow and took a deep breath,  "So what have you two been up to?"

"Well, not nearly as exciting as your adventure but I did research and came up with nothing and Ethan was attacked by demons but he did get…" Willow looked around the room and saw where she dropped the gem on the floor.  She bent down to pick it up but just as she was about to touch it she realized that probably wasn't the best idea so she just pointed at it, "this."

"The Gem of Vleda? Dear Lord." Giles had finally stopped cleaning his glasses.  He grabbed the gem out of Ethan's hands, "This is very powerful and if it gets in the wrong hands…" Ethan rolled his eyes at Giles,  "Always melodramatic old chap."

"What does it do?"  Buffy asked urgently

"There's a great many a things but what we need it for is to find out who this powerful human is."  Ethan's voice was serious, "I know the spell we can use but we need at least five people for it."

Buffy nodded and looked at Giles.  "I need to go home and get refreshed and you should too.  I'll gather up the rest of the Scoobies and let them know to meet us here later on tonight."
