PAMPERING
"Urgh!" Willow gently rolled her shoulders back and forwards trying
to ease the pain. She had been sitting in front
of the computer most of the day researching and her shoulders and back
were aching. Her fingers still ran over the
keys as information sprung up on the page but her mind was focused
on her pain. Arching her back and stretching
she let out a loud groan at the pain she felt. "God why does pain have
to be so painful?" She mused. She wiped
the back of her hand across her eyes wiping away the tears that had
formed.
Bleary eyed she looked back at the screen. There was nothing new. She
had spent most of the day in a futile
search for a demon that had very little information about it. Or it
was very well hidden that she couldn’t find it.
She had read the same things over and over again. It was useless, she
had said as much to Xander when he had
called to check in. His research wasn’t leading anywhere either. He
had spent the whole day scouring the dead
beats of LA society and found nothing to help him. All the dives Spike
had told him about and then a few he
hadn’t. Nothing. A big fat nothing. Buffy was in England trying to
kill a demon that according to myth was only a
myth. No one had ever seen it before, no one that had lived to tell
the tale that it. Until Buffy. She and Giles had
seen it and it was very real now they only needed a way to kill it….that
was proving harder and harder by the day.
"Argh" biting back the pain that ran down her back from her shoulders
and made her head throb Willow stood up. "I
am so getting to old for this." She went to the motel bathroom and
rummaged through the medicine cabinet and
found some aspirin. She swallowed two with a glass of water and slowly
made her way back to the computer.
Siting heavily back in her chair she stared at the laptop. The information
was laid out differently, some names were
changed and there were slight variations on the myths, but basically
it
was all the same. The creature doesn’t
exist, was only made up to scare children. Ancient folklore nothing
more. It so didn’t help to explain why Giles had
received a frantic phone call from the watchers council telling him
that he had to bring the slayer to England as
the boogie man had been spotted. After the rounds of laughter and the
endless jokes, Buffy had been rushed to
the airport with Giles and sometime the next day had indeed confirmed
the reports and had a nasty battle wound
across her chest and stomach to prove it. Now Willow and Xander had
taken up the impossible task of trying to
find out about it. They had travelled to LA at the request of Spike
to check out some sources he had there and he
would stay and take care of the nasties in Sunnydale.
Their first stop had been at Angel’s place but he too had always believed
that the Boogie man was a myth and
didn’t have information to help them. A week later and they still had
nothing that would help the slayer in England.
Giving a frustrated sigh Willow slammed the top of her laptop down
and pushed it to the far end of the desk. "I
hate this." She mumbled as she forced her aching muscles to respond
to her demands as she stood up. She was
about to flip the light off and crawl into bed when there was a light
tapping at her door. "Who it is?" She moved
slowly to the door, her eyes frantically searching for a weapon that
would hurt both a human and a demon
intruder.
"It’s me Angel."
Giving a sigh of relief Willow’s hands moved to the safety chain and
pulled it back. "Hi." She forced the smile on her
face and pushed the pain of her own body to the back of her mind.
"I just thought I would check in see if you have anything. See if I can help."
"Oh, well, come in." She stepped aside as Angel stepped through the
door. "I don’t have much more than what we
had last week. Sorry. Do you have anything?"
"No. Sorry." She looked at Angel and saw him looking intently at her.
"What? What is it?"
"Nothing. It’s just…" He paused as he stepped closer to her. "You shouldn’t let yourself get so run down like that."
"What?" Willow jumped back and bit back the pain that shot down her
shoulders and to her lower back. "Me? Angel
I’m fine really."
"Willow I can see the pain written all over you face. I saw you through
the window earlier, like I’ve seen you the
past few days. This is going to kill you if you don’t take better care
of yourself."
"How can I think about me Angel when Buffy and Giles need me so much
and all I can tell them is that the Boogie
man is only a myth sorry, you can’t have seen it. That wound Buffy
has is all in your imagination." Tears sprung up
in her eyes again and she tried to will herself not to cry.
"That’s not what I meant. I know it’s hard to find information. I have
been trying. But you can’t help anyone if
you’re hurting."
"I’ll live Angel." It was harsh but she really wanted him to go so she
could go to bed. Sleep was something that she
hadn’t had in…well at least two days that she could remember. Looking
back to Angel she saw that he wasn’t
going to move. "Look I’m really tired and as you say I need my strength
so…."
"You won’t sleep you know?"
"What?"
"You’re too wound up, in too much pain, you won’t sleep. You need to relax."
"When this is all over there will be more than enough time to relax
Angel I’m sure. Please just…" She moved her
hands to show that she wanted him to leave but he stood fast.
"Let me help you."
"What?" Her eyes grew large as she looked at him. Slowly he moved toward her.
"I can help you Willow. Relax you, nothing more. Please." His hands
reached out for her and touched her shoulders
causing her to jump back.
"Angel?"
"Willow, you are tense, I can massage you. Let me help." He begged again.
"I can’t just stand by and let you suffer
when I know I can help." He saw the uncertainty in her eyes. "If it’s
any help I can tell you that Cordelia let’s me
massage her shoulders. You can call her and ask."
"She does?" Willow squeaked. Disbelief still written all over her face.
"Relax Willow. Trust me. Here." He stepped around her and swung her
chair around. "Sit here and let me help."
Slowly Willow moved over to the chair and sat down on the edge. Her
body language showing that she was
anything but relaxed and trusting him. "I won’t hurt you Willow I promise."
Slowly he reached for her shoulders
ignoring her little flinch at the contact. His fingertips were bearly
touching her as he began the treatment. In slow
circular movements he started at the front of her shoulder blades and
worked to the back.
After a while he heard the contented sigh from Willow as she moved back
in the chair allowing him more contact
with her. His fingers pressed firmer into her shoulders and worked
to her neck as he gently massaged her. He could
feel the knots of tension that were within her slowly begin to fade,
he could feel her relaxing and trusting him
more.
Willow sat in the chair, her eyes closed in bliss as she gave herself
over to the gentle fingers of Angel. She didn’t
want to admit that he could help her but his fingers were like magic
wands and wherever they touched her
shoulders they made her feel so good. She leaned back into his touch
and felt his fingers dig deeper into her skin
and work out more of the knots. His fingers moved up around her neck
and she wasn’t scared only grateful that
the pain that had been there for the past three days was finally going
away. Her head felt so much lighter and she
felt a kind of peace washing over her. She felt Angel’s thumbs move
to the back of her neck and up to her hairline
and gently massaged her. Letting a satisfied moan escape her lips Willow
leaned further back into him magic
fingers. She felt his fingers work up and run through her hair gently
massaging her scalp and sending shivers of
delight through her body.
"Feel better?" Angel’s soft silky voice penetrated her state of bliss
as Willow slowly nodded and let a small smile slip
across her lips. Angel slowly took his fingers away from her hair and
worked his way back to her neck and
shoulders adding his other fingers to the massage as they gently but
firmly applied pressure to her skin. He
kneaded at her shoulder blades and worked the knots out and was rewarded
with the happy groan from Willow.
Slowly he moved his fingers down her back, his thumbs and fingertips
creating small circles of pleasure wherever
they touched. He reached her lower back after gently pushing her forward
slightly and he began to massage into
the curve there.
Arching Willow moaned in pleasure as she felt all the tension run from
her body and the new sensation filled her. All
she could think of were Angel’s fingers on her body, the coolness she
felt through the thin fabric of her shirt. The
wonderful sensations he was causing her to feel. She hadn’t felt so
at ease in a long time. She never wanted it to
end.
"Willow."
"Hhhhmmmmm?"
"I think it’s time you went to sleep now."
"Hmmmmm." She tried to protest without forming words, but it was too
late. His fingers were no longer on her
lower back. Gently he pulled on her hands as Willow opened her eyes.
Helping her to her feet he guided her over to
the bed.
"Sleep now." Pulling her shoes off her feet he placed them on the floor
and moved her legs up onto the bed and
gently laid her down, her head on the soft pillows.
"Angel?"
"Yes?"
"Thank you."
Smiling Angel carefully pulled the sheet up over her and pushed the
stray strands of her red hair from her face.
"Any time Little One. Now sleep." His thumb strayed in the caress of
her check as she closed her eyes again and
sighed contentedly drifting off to sleep. Silently Angel left the motel
room.
