Drusilla stood outside Willow's house, listening intently to Spike and
Willow make up.  She grinned, thrilled that her plan had turned out so well,
but suddenly a large, male hand clamped down harshly on her shoulder.
Whipping her head around to see what danger had her, she found her sire,
well, Angel, standing behind her, looking slightly angry.

"Dru?  What are you doing here?"  He asked her in an accusing tone.
Angel knew her too well.  She may be insane, but she was still a
manipulative, conniving vampire, use to getting her way by any means
necessary.

"Making sure that my plan ends well, Daddy,"  she stated simply, in a
tone that said she thought he should already know, "The stars told me what
to do, and they were ever so right."  Dru's face still held the pleasure of
a plan well completed, along with the joy of her sire being back beside her.

People can take everything away from you
But they can never take away your truth
But the question is
Can you handle mine
They say I'm crazy
I really don't care
That's my prerogative
They say I'm nasty
But I don't give a damn
Getting boys is how I live
So ask me questions
Why am I so real

Drusilla knew that Angel would want a more complete answer, an
explanation, and that would take time to give him.  Leading him through the
light summer rain, she headed back to her mansion with him in tow.

They sat at the table, neither noticing, or at least not caring, how wet
they were, and Drusilla began her tale.  She started with how she had felt
so sorry after Miss Edith had told her how much she had hurt her Spike.  She
had sent him away without a second thought to his happiness and it had been
wrong.  He was her childe and she was suppose to take care of him.  He had
taken care of her, and then when he still needed her around she had tossed
him away.  The stars had told the doll a secret, and she had later passed it
on to Dru.  Willow would make Spike happy.

But they understand me
I really don't know the deal about my sister
Trying hard to make it right
Not long ago
Before I won this fight
Everybody's talking all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live
I don't need permission
Make my own decisions
That's my prerogative
That's my prerogative
It's my prerogative

The information from the stars started Dru's planning.  She had to find
some way to get Spike and Willow together, her sweet boy and the weeping
tree.  The stars said they would blend well, all she had to do was make sure
that Willow would go with him, leave the town.  So once the stars had done
their part and gotten Spike and Willow together, Dru had placed special
herbs in Spike's car.  They would make the new couple see Willow's friends
as they truly were, but their words would be different.  No matter what they
spoke of, Willow and Spike would only hear bad things about Willow.

It's the way that I wanna live
It's my prerogative
You can't tell me what to do
Don't get me wrong
I'm really not souped
Ego trips is not my thing
All these strange relationships really gets me down
I see nothing wrong in spreading myself around

Once that was accomplished, Dru had followed Spike and Willow, masking
her presence as she watched them, thrilled when Angel arrived and scared
them.  She gave her energy to Willow, helping them to escape the dark
vampire only there to help them.  She had thought that she only needed to be
there, to help them along, but Miss Edith had told her the stars were
planning to play with her childe's romance, to test it.  She decided if
anyone would do so, she had better be in charge.  That's why she had planted
the doubts in both Spike and Willow's heads, made Spike believe Willow
wouldn't love him if she knew where he was going and what he was doing, and
she made Willow think he was cheating on her.  She had even helped Willow
return to her own time.

Everybody's talking all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live
I don't need permission
Make my own decisions
That's my prerogative

She had returned Spike a few months later, and led him carefully to the
caves in Africa.  She had spoken with the demon there, an old friend, and
told him which gift to give her boy.  Iris only listened to her due to her
respect in demon communities, her visions, when known, were always listened
to these days, especially by his people, and he had even allowed her to send
the third challenge to Spike early, helping him to kill the second.

The only thing she hadn't been in charge of was Willow's brush with
death.  She did all that she could to help the girl awaken, but in the end,
it was Spike who helped the most.  her little scene with him had just been
to give them one last chance to get everything out into the open and to make
up.

It's the way that I wanna live
It's my prerogative
You can't tell me what to do
Why can't I live my life
Without all of the things
That people say

Angel sat in silence, listening to Dru's long story, finally cracking up
when she finished.  He couldn't believe all that she had put Spike and
Willow through without anyone noticing.  Getting up, he walked around the
table and hugged her, making her smile from earlier return and widen as she
wrapped her arms around him in response.

Everybody's talking all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live
I don't need permission
Make my own decisions
That's my prerogative
They say I'm crazy

Dru had been, to say the least, surprised by Angel's embrace, she tried
not to show it, but it was difficult.  The last time he hugged her like that
had been before his soul was returned to him by Willow, and even those hugs
hadn't been as heartfelt as this.  "What's so funny>"  She asked him,
pouting when her curiosity had finally gotten the better of her.

Everybody's talking all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live
I don't need permission
Make my own decisions
That's my prerogative
It's my prerogative

"I'm just thinking of how Spike will react if he ever finds out about
everything you put him through,"  Angel chuckled in response.

Smiling, Dru began to giggle along with him, "I'll just send him a
yellow rose."

Author's Note:  For anyone that didn't know, the yellow rose has been something that people would give each other to say sorry throughout history.
