~THE SIRENS ARE SCREAMING AND THE FIRES ARE HOWLING
WAY DOWN IN THE VALLEY TONIGHT
THERE’S A MAN IN THE SHADOWS WITH A GUN IN HIS EYE
AND A BLADE SHINING OH SO BRIGHT
THERE’S EVIL IN THE AIR AND THERE’S THUNDER IN THE SKY
AND DOWN IN THE TUNNEL WHERE THE DEADLY ARE RISING
OH I SWEAR I SAW A YOUNG BOY
DOWN IN THE GUTTER
HE WAS STARTING TO FOAM IN THE HEAT~
Spike followed her as she walked down the dark streets. *Why the bloody hell isn’t someone escorting her home?* he thought as he watched her. He’d been following her for about a month. No one realized he was back in town and he wanted to keep it that way. Ever since he’d kidnapped her and the moron she hung out with he couldn’t seem to get her out of his mind.
As she passed a dark alley way, Spike spotted a figure start to move out from the shadows. He stopped and waited. The streetlights reflected off a glint of metal. The hairs on the back of Spike’s neck started to prickle as he sensed danger. Moving quickly he moved into the alley just as a man started to step forward. The knife in his hand drop to the concrete as he saw the tall blonde vampire in front of him.
“I don’t think so, mate,” Spike said as he quickly reached and snapped the man’s neck like a twig. He watched the dead man fall to the ground. He turned and left the ally to follow the redhead again. He had to make sure she made it home safely.
~OH BABY YOU’RE THE ONLY THING IN THE WHOLE WORLD
THAT’S PURE AND GOOD AND RIGHT
AND WHEREVER YOU ARE AND WHEREVER YOU GO
THERE’S ALWAYS GOING TO BE SUNLIGHT
BUT I GOTTA GET OUT
I GOTTA BREAK IT OUT NOW.
BEFORE THE FINAL CRACK OF DAWN
SO WE GOTTA MAKE THE MOST OF OUR ONE NIGHT TOGETHER
WHEN ITS OVER YOU KNOW
WE’LL BOTH BE SO ALONE~
Spike stood looking at her sleeping. Her red hair spread over her pillow like a pool of blood, which to a vampire is the most beautiful picture imaginable. His hand touched the window glass. Whenever he watched her sleeping he found a sense of peace in his hellish existence. He felt dawn beginning to break. He knew he had to leave soon, but every night it was getting harder and harder to do so. Watching Willow was becoming his obsession. With great reluctance he pulled himself away from the window.
“Sleep well, Princess.”
He turned and headed for the sewers to escape the deadly rays of light.
~LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL
I’LL BE GONE WHEN THE MORNING COMES
WHEN THE NIGHT IS OVER
LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL I’LL BE GONE GONE GONE
LIKE A BAT OUT OF HEAL I’LL BE GONE BEFORE THE MORNING
COMES
BUT WHEN THE DAY IS DONE
AND THE SUN GOES DOWN
AND THE MOONLIGHT’S SHINING THROUGH
THEN LIKE A SINNER BEFORE THE GATES OF HEAVEN
I’LL BE CRAWLING BACK TO YOU~
Willow woke and looked out her window. He was gone, of course, but she saw the smudges on the pane of glass. She knew he’d been following her for a while. At first it scared her, but when he hadn’t done anything she started to relax. In fact she felt safer knowing he was there. She just wished he’d come out of the shadows and talk to her. She crawled out of bed and placed her hand over the print he’d left behind.
“Until tonight, Spike.”
