Willow grinned as she danced around her room. Angel had asked her out. She bounced up and down. She couldn't help herself. After months of him being around talking to her, being there near her. He asked her to go for dinner. And Buffy, she had been fantastic. Always there, offering advice, listning to her babble on. She had some good news of her own to tell Angel. She had found a an anchoring spell, His soul would be secured, He could be happy, possibly with her, again she danced around her room. The slayer sat on her bed and looked on in amusement. Once she would have been seething with jealousy but now she could only be happy for her friend. And her ex-boyfriend. With this spell willow had found he could enjoy himself to the fullest extent and she found that she could only wish happiness on him.

Willow's bouncing came to an abrupt stop when her eyes alighted on a little doll, a minature she had made to remind her of someone who had once meant so much. The tiny leather duster covering a wardrobe entirely of black. The dolls spikey hair and blue eyes were almost unrealistically accurate, for a doll maker who had never seen the subject. He had gone 3 months ago that very day, and left a hollow space inside her. A space Angel had tried so hard to fill. He was
succeeding with time. She had finally acceeded to go out with him. Now she had news, and he was so wonderful, and she did think she loved him, but she still missed Spike, with his witty remarks that appealed to her wicked side. So she kept this little piece of him. To remind her he was still there. Angel didn't seem to mind so she shrugged off the feeling of guilt she had as she looked at it.

Buffy followed her gaze, her own smile sad in sympathy. She knew why he had gone, once again in the shadow of his sire, he had decided to give up before the competition started. And so he left. Every so often he would ring to see if the witch was still ok. that was what he called her as if her name or red had become too difficult to even think let alone say. And now he knew about the anchoring, Buffy had been unable to keep it from him, realising it would be wrong to hide it. but she had never said a word about the doll, knowing that for him it would have been too much, and too familiar, his love with a doll. So he didn't know

Willow put the effort into to cheering up again, she was going out with a dall dark and dangerously handsome vampire, she shouldn't be sad. So she grinned again and threw herself into her wardrobe to find the perfect outfit. As she pulled out the long fitted green dress she knew with a keeness she had never before felt that she had fallen, tumbled into love, and she did not think she could get out of it,even had she wished. His smile came to her mind, one so rare that when it happened the entire world lit up. She was lost, but at that point she didn't care.

He smiled again, unable to help himself, she had agreed to go out with him, for dinner. He almost felt like leaping around but that would ruin his brooding image. Cordelia arched an eyebrow at him, "Don't you get too happy mister" She stated "We don't want to be hoovering you up" She added with a small grin, happy that he seemed to have things go his way for once. She had spent too long worrying over him and his life. Finally she could take a break. "What are you going to wear" She asked. He looked confused, "What do you mean, What am I going to wear, My black trousers, Black shirt and my coat" Cordy smiled before adding, "which is also black, are we seeing a theme here?" She walked over to his wardrobe and pulled out a midnight blue shirt. "There, this won't ruin your manly image, and it's not black. Put it on, I promise not to look" She said as she thrust the shirt at him and turned around so that she wouldn't see him, not that he was shy but she had her self respect and drooling in plain sight was something she would not allow herself to do.

He took off the former black shirt and pulled on the blue one. He had to admit that the seer had taste. He smiled over at her, "You can turn round now, I am fully dressed" She turned round and gave him an appraising look. "You'll do, she'll  love you, now be careful, we wouldn't want something bad to happen would we." He nodded at her words and ushered her out the door. He glanced around the room one more time before gathering himself to meet the woman he loved. It had taken time to woo her. He didn't think it would be possible even when his errent grandchilde dissappeared. Maybe he held fears because of
it. Willow had a doll now, it was eerily reminiscent of Drusilla. Angel quelched the thought. Willow was not insane, just missing the vibrant vampire. He didn't feel jealous, well maybe just a little, but he couldn't help it, he'd fallen, tumbled into love with her, and he couldn't get out now, even if he wanted to.
