Nothing. Willow opened her eyes and scowled. She must have missed something. She re-read the spell. It looked like she had all the right ingredients. She should have known better. It hadn't worked. Suddenly, an idea came to her. Maybe it had and it just meant that there was no one.

She had been trying to get over Oz. It was working, but taking some time. She had come across this spell while researching for Giles. It was called an Enlightening spell. It was supposed to have shown her who her true love was. It was not a love spell, as it didn't cause any sort of reactions. She had cast in the hopes that seeing her true soulmate would give her something to live for....something to get over Oz. Only, nothing. She wondered if it meant that she didn't belong with anyone. That thought made her feel even worse.

She started to pick up the material that were spread around her floor. She knew Buffy was visiting her mother this weekend. Xander and Anya were doing couple things. Giles was visiting with an old friend. Spike was in LA, helping Angel of all people. After his partner had died, Angel had asked for help. Spike had actually volunteered to help. Since he couldn't feed on anyone, it was decided that he'd be a good choice. He had been gone a week now. Willow hated to admit it, but she missed the blond vampire. He never failed to cheer her up. She felt that he truly cared about her misery. The others were getting tired of it, she knew. That was why she had cast this spell. She wanted something to focus on. A lot of good that it had done. Finally clearing the floor, she changed into her tank top and a pair of shorts. She laid down and tried to sleep.

Spike sang along with the radio. He was going home, back to Sunnydale. He didn't know when he had started to consider the town home. It just seemed that way to him now. He had helped the poof. He had actually been planning on staying and visiting with the old man for a day or two. He really got tired of the daft slayer. But, tonight, he had suddenly had a vision of red hair and green eyes. He had felt this desire shoot through him. This knowledge. He realized he missed the little chit. Missed the way her eyes lit up when paid attention to her. Missed her laughing at one of his dumb jokes. Missed her listening to him as he spoke of his life the last hundred years. Missed seeing her holding the little group together. It was tonight that it all suddenly made sense. He loved her. He had looked at Angel and told his sire what he had felt. Angel had seemed wary, but seeing the sincerity in his childe's eyes, had told him to go for it. Now, Spike was speeding down the highway. He would get home before dawn. He needed to see Willow.

I had to escape, the city was stinking and cruel
Maybe I should have called you first, but I was dying to get to you
I was dreaming while I drove the long straight road ahead
Uh Huh, yeah
Could taste your sweet kisses, your arms open wide
This fever for you was just burning me up inside

Spike opened the door, cursing at her carelessness. He could be anyone. She had left it unlocked. He saw the slayer's bed empty. He was glad. He hadn't even though about her before now. He had had to see Willow. She was sleeping. He moved beside her bed. He pulled the chair from her desk and sat down to watch her sleep.

What in this world keeps us from falling apart?
No matter where I go I hear the beating of our one heart
I think about you when the night is cold and dark
Uh huh
No one can move me the way that you do
Nothing erases this feeling between me and you

Spike moved to caress her face. Her skin was warm to his touch. He ran his finger over her mouth. He watched as she opened her eyes sleepily. She saw him and smiled. He leaned over and kissed her slowly, trying to convey his emotions in that one kiss. She reached her hand up and pulled him closer. He moved the covers to the end of the bed. His eyes taking in her body. He reached down and began to undress her. She was his. She watched him with curious eyes. She gasped when his mouth found her breast. He ran his hand down her taut stomach, finding her wet and wanting. He slid his fingers over her enjoying her warmth. He felt her sit up and start to pull his shirt over his head. He saw the eagerness and lust in her eyes. He stopped his teasing and helped her with his clothes. Soon, he too was nude. He watched in pleasure as her eyes took him in. He felt as though she were touching him. He felt himself harden even more. He looked into her eyes, waiting for permission. When he saw her smile, he entered her. He caught her gasp with his mouth. Soon, the new lovers found a rhythm. She arched up, eager for more of him. His stokes deepened as he sped up. She felt his mouth covering her face with kisses. She screamed his name as they found release together.

He held her in his arms, running a hand over her face. She smiled sweetly.

"What a way to wake up" she whispered, kissing his hand.

"I'm glad you approve." he said, smiling back, his love for her bright in his eyes. "Did you do a spell?" he motioned to her supplies.

She made a face. "Yes, but it didn't work. It was supposed to make me see my soulmate. Nothing happened. Just didn't work."

He smiled, his teeth white in the darkness. "Oh, I wouldn't say that.... Trust me luv." he said before kissing her again.

I drove all night to get to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night, crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep to make love to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night
To taste your sweet kisses, your arms open wide
this fever for you is just burning me up inside

THE END
