He couldn't believe he was going on a date. He hadn't dated since well...had he ever dated? He couldn't remember if he had. She was stubborn. He didn't know what the big deal was. He knew he loved her. That was all that mattered to him. But, she insisted. Since she had asked him out, she had said she would pick him up and pay for the evening. His gentlemanly sense of honor rebelled at the idea. But, this time, it was her game. He'd play by her rules.....for awhile.
Willow hurried to Spike's apartment. She had been doing homework and time had slipped away from her. She was nervous about this. It was their first date. She could feel the butterflies as he opened the door glowering. He looked yummy. Tight faded black jeans...form fitting black pullover....and a scowl.
"Where have you been?" he demanded.
"Uh...I was studying. You know, we really need to add some color to your wardrobe."
He looked at her stunned. He was upset and she was talking about his clothes? He took a moment to look her over. She had on a baggy pair of blue jeans, a dark brown sweater that was two sizes too big, and he had never seen anything as sexy.
"You look nice." he said. (That's an understatement)
"OK." Willow said, looking at herself. She had deliberately dressed slobby, wanting him to concentrate on getting to know her and not what she was wearing. "You ready?"
"I was ready half an hour ago."
Willow rolled her eyes at his grumbling.
They saw the latest action disaster movie. Willow couldn't tell anyone what had happened after the first twenty minutes. Spike had taken her hand and rubbed little circles and big circles....she had been too aware of him beside her to watch some silly movie.
After the movie, they got ice cream. They walked slowly, talking and eating. Spike felt himself harden as her tongue licked at the melting mess. He turned away and tried to think of something else.
Willow noticed Spike's discomfort and felt a tremor of power shoot through her. He was that affected by her. It amazed her. She tried to think about something else. She knew that he wasn't ready to accept her love. She had promised no sex until he could. She frowned. That was a really stupid idea....make herself suffer because he wouldn't trust her. Oh well, she would never admit defeat to him. She would have to control herself.
Spike walked her back to her dorm. He kissed her softly, aching for more. He saw the determined look in her eyes and pulled away.
"That was fun." He said, surprised that he was telling the truth. "Yes, it was" Willow agreed,( except for all the times I wanted to jump your bones).
"Tomorrow....I'll take you out to dinner."
"OK." She said beaming. He had asked her out. She couldn't wait to tell Buffy.
"Good night luv." He kissed her again before turning away.
Willow went into the dorm, unaware that he had
turned to watch her go inside. He smiled slightly. After he was sure she
was inside, he headed home alone, whistling.
