FIRST CONTACT

Willow looked at her computer screen and frowned. She was doing research....again. Where were the others? Well, Buffy had a date with some frat guy, Giles was visiting his sick mother back in England, Oz was on tour and Xander was out with Anya. That was a relationship that still shocked her. Oh, and Spike was off somewhere. He never told them where he was. He just showed up when he was needed. She was alone. She was always alone. Ever since she and Oz had split up, she had realized just how alone she was. She missed having someone to talk to...someone who would listen to her...someone to hold her and love her. She thought back over her relationship with Oz. It had been very nice....sweet...comfortable. It had not been what she had dreamed about though. She had always secretly wanted passion...someone who excited her so much she couldn't breathe....a man who made her feel sexy, wanted....Oz had tried, but it never was quite right. She wondered if she would ever find that man.

Suddenly, she heard a little bell. Startled, she looked. Someone had IMed her. She clicked on the box.

Are you lonely?

She gnawed on her lip. She didn't recognize the name. It must be a game. She ignored it.

Willow....talk to me.

She saw her name mentioned. He knew her. She ran her mind through the people who knew her email name. There were very few that new this one. She used it for research and never used her real name. It must be someone from school. But how?

Who are you? How do you know me?

Curious creature aren't you? Always questioning. Sometimes you might not like the answers.

I'd rather know the answer than be in the dark.

(G) I live in the dark. Don't knock it. Sometimes the only way to find the true answer is to venture into the shadows.

OK....I get it. You must write fortune cookies. I hate chinese food, so try someone else.

You always make me laugh. How do you do it? Even when the world is dark and ugly, you can somehow show me the light.

Who is this?

Someone who knows you...someone who wants you...would you like to walk in the shadows with me Willow? You may just find yourself there..

You want me? That's a laugh. OK Xander. Real funny. Ha Ha. Not working.

Your friend Xander wouldn't know how to turn the computer on much less use it. Willow, why is someone wanting you a laugh?

Willow looked at the messages. She felt apprehension paired with excitement. It was probably a joke. But what if it wasn't? She had just been wishing for some passion...some excitement. Maybe this guy really did want her....she had to know if it was a joke.

You say you know me. Why do you have to ask? I'm just Willow. I don't really inspire feelings of lust in men.

If you only knew.....

Are you lonely?

Always. Only when I see you do I feel that loneliness ease. I have stayed in the shadows long enough. I want you. My desire for you grows daily. It is consuming me....my thoughts...my dreams....Will you walk the shadows with me sweet Willow? Play my game....

Uh....This is freaking me out...No one has ever desired me. Not even Oz. What game?

I know that I can never be with you....in a relationship. There are things in my life that make it impossible. Know that now. Accept that. You will never be able to truly know me. If you are willing, we can share something else though...I want to show you pleasure. I want to ruin you for all other men. I want you to feel as consumed by want and need as I. I want you to think of me all the time...ache for my touch...my lips...

Is that all?

Willow swallowed. She had never thought she'd be in this position. She was very curious. This man seemed to know her. He seemed to actually be sincere. Was it possible? Did someone secretly desire her? She knew she shouldn't, but she had to know.....

For a start. Will you play with me?

Why not? I've never done anything like this before though. You could be some slimey perv or something. How do I know?

Trust your instincts.

Willow thought about it. She typed her reply and waited. Taking a deep breath, she hit enter not knowing if it was the right decision or not. Not really caring.

OK. I trust you. Now, tell me about this game...
