"Angel!" Willow said, hugging the vampire. She was very happy to see
him, even if it meant having to see Cordelia.
"Willow." Angel pulled back and looked at her. "You look great."
Willow smiled shyly, "Thanks."
"She always look great" Spike said, stepping into the room. He moved
behind Willow, his hand going to her hip. His eyes proclaimed his
possession of her to Angel. "Peaches."
Angel noted the way Spike was touching Willow and smiled. Baby boy had
grown up. Spike was in love with Willow. He nodded, "Spike. Thanks
for
bringing her."
Spike felt Willow pull away as she walked into the room. He moved behind
her, wanting to make sure his sire knew the girl was taken. Well, she
wasn't taken yet but she would be as soon as he made a move. "My
pleasure."
"Willow. It's nice to see you" Cordelia said, smiling at the girl who
had been her enemy through school.
"Cordelia." Willow said, her words friendly but her tone frosty.
Cordelia sighed, looking at Angel with an I told you so look. "Honey,
why don't you get Willow something to drink."
"Honey?" Willow said, studying the two. She noticed it. Cordelia was
in
love with Angel. Good grief.
Spike started to laugh, "Damn peaches. You don't waste time do you?
The
prom queen this time."
"Spike" Angel said, his tone warning. His eyes held no room for teasing.
Spike frowned, sitting next to Willow. He couldn't really say anything.
At least his sire had the girl he wanted. He wasn't stuck as the
platonic friend. A year of friendship was growing annoying when each
day
he wanted her more and more. "Sorry Dad."
"Willow, would you like something to drink?" Angel asked.
"I'm fine" Willow replied, still shocked that Angel had moved past Buffy
with Cordelia of all people. She couldn't believe it. Maybe the girl
had
changed over the last year. She would have to have for Angel to fall
in
love with her. She felt Spike's leg touch hers and froze. Why did he
always sit so close? Friends did not sit this close. He had to know
about her feelings for him. Even Buffy teased her about the damn crush.
Yet, he always never failed to touch her whenever he could.
"We still are doing the research for Giles so it will be another couple
of days" Cordelia said, her eyes narrowing on the way Spike was sitting
beside Willow. She saw the slight flush on Willow's face and knew
instantly. Willow was in love with Spike. When had that happened? Did
he
know? Questions ran through her mind. "I hope you don't mind staying
here a bit longer."
Willow shrugged. There went her birthday. Great. It would be just
another day as it always had been. "Shouldn't be a problem. But, we'll
need to find somewhere to stay. Know any cheap motels?"
"Motels? You two can't stay in a motel!" Cordelia said.
"You can stay here. I have an extra room" Angel let his words drop,
watching their reactions. Smiling, he added, "and a comfy sofa.
Shouldn't be a problem."
"Are you sure?" Willow asked, glancing between him and Cordelia. She
knew that she and Spike would be imposing. She also couldn't get the
image of her sharing the room with Spike...sharing the bed. She licked
her lips as her breathing quickened along with the visions.
"Please?" Cordelia asked, needing to make up for all the terrible things
she had done in the past.
"Why not?" Spike answered, glowering at the knowing look in his sire's
eyes. Not even thirty minutes and the damn infuriating man knew he
liked
Willow. What was it about him that allowed Angelus to see into his
heart?
"It might be fun" Willow said, trying to smile. She could see that this
Cordelia was not the one that she had grown up with but she still wasn't
sure about staying with them.
Cordelia smiled, "It will be fun. Trust me."
