Buffy sat back in her chair and groaned. "I can't find anything."
"Me either. The guy doesn't exist." Xander said. Cordelia nodding in agreement and closing her book. They all looked at Giles and Angel.
"He does exist. He just knows how to hide." Angel said.
"I'm sure he must be mentioned somewhere. He is rather old, according to Angel."
"Actually, I'm 565 on my last birthday" the words were spoken with an Italian accent from the doorway of the library.
Buffy looked and gasped. He was gorgeous. Dark hair, pale eyes. He moved like a jungle cat as he came down the stairs.
He looked at her, and smiled sinisterly. "So, you're the slayer? Not bad. A bit too trashy for my taste." She felt anger at his words and tone. She reached for a stake. "Not now. I'm still jet lagged." He said, moving quickly and taking the stake from her. "Angelus.....how's that soul?" He smiled, his teeth flashing.
"Damien." Angel said, trying to control his temper and his fear.
Damien glanced at the books on the table, still holding the stake in his hands. "Interesting reading material. I'm not in any of those, though. I like to keep my private life private. Don't need all you pesky goody two shoes learning all my secrets, do I?"
No one moved, waiting to see what he would do next. "So, Angelus...long time. I'd ask why you were here, but I can smell you on her. Is she good? Looks a little uptight to me. Perpetual tease who can't deliver the goods."
"What do you want?" Angel demanded.
Damien laughed, the attractive sound filling the library. "What do I want? That is a good question, old friend. Did I tell you who I found in New York? Your little friend. She was so tasty...all that childlike wonder...that innocence...you always knew how to pick them" he glanced at Buffy. "Well, you used to."
Angel seethed with anger. He wondered if he would have a chance to kill him or if he'd just put Buffy and the others in danger. Suddenly, Damien stopped smiling. He sniffed the air.
"Come out come out where ever you are..." he called in a sing song voice looking around the library. "I knew you'd come. I honestly thought I would have to find you though. Didn't think you'd be eager to find me. Guess this time the surprise is on me. Come out and play....we never did finish that game..."
"Boss" The doors to the library opened. "There are more coming. Another slayer it seems."
Damien swore and headed out the library, tossing the stake on the floor. "I'll find you. Our game will be finished." He promised before he left.
Buffy let out the breath she had been holding. "I see what you mean about him. He's twisted."
"But gorgeous." Cordelia said, seeing the lighter side of the situation.
Angel looked at her in disgust before saying, "Spike. I know you're hiding. Come out."
Just then, the doors opened and two new people entered.
"Hey B. Who was the hottie vamp leaving just now? I hope it wasn't me." Faith asked smiling as she and Amy took a seat.
