POSSESSION

Damien stared at the blood that was flowing down the girl's back, red...deep red. He grimaced and stood. He couldn't enjoy this. Not now. He knew that his Red was somewhere in this small town. He had felt her. He knew she had been in the library this evening. He called to one of his men.

"Take this away. You can have her. Just, try to avoid making a mess. When I bring Red home, I'd hate to have explain the stains in the carpet."

His man nodded and took the girl away, careful to avoid making his Sire angry.

Damien stared out the window. This had become a favorite past time of his these last four years. He couldn't believe that he had allowed someone to affect him this way. A human no less. He was disgusted with what he had become. He hadn't been able to enjoy a toy since his Red had escaped. He always saw her face staring back at him defiantly....the fire in her eyes as he tested her and pushed her past her limits.....the sweet sounds she had made when he fucked her...he knew that that had driven her crazy. Her own body's response to him. He had delighted in torturing her with that knowledge.

He had not smelled another's scent on her. He knew that she had not been with her protector. He smiled at that thought. She was his. She might deny it, might try to ignore it, run from it, but it was a fact. She would never get away from him. She would have to quit running sometime. Then, he would make her his Queen.

He couldn't believe that he had been searching for so many centuries only to find his other half by mistake. He knew that he would have not chosen her if it hadn't been for that familiar scent. Angelus. That arrogant prick. He couldn't believe that his Red had shared a bed with the bastard. He planned to have him tortured then killed for taking what was rightfully his. He might even allow Red the honors. It would be rather fitting that she take her first lover's life as she settled down with her final lover. He rather liked the idea.

His Red. Thinking of her made him ache. He couldn't wait to taste her again. To punish her for running away. To again test her and see just how much she could take. To have her lash out and fight him. He ran a finger over his hand, remembering many times she had bitten him trying to break free. To take her hard and fast afterward. He felt himself harden at the idea. Pathetic. Just the thought of the young girl could turn him into a walking hormone. He had never found such a challenge before. She still intrigued him.

He had sensed something different about her today. He hadn't had time to distinguish what it was, but there was a new scent to her. Intoxicating. He couldn't wait to find out what it was. Looking over the town sleeping peacefully out his window, he smiled. She would be beside him. Soon, all would be as it was supposed to.

Across Town

Willow paced back and forth. Spike felt like he was at a tennis match.

"Are you ok?" he asked softly.

She turned to him, eyes blazing. "NO. I'm not ok. I hate this. I hate feeling this. I lost control tonight. I don't like feeling like this. I can't fight the demon anymore. My hatred for him is starting to control me. I don't know what I can do."

Spike went to her and took her hands. He looked deep into her eyes. "Remember, like Dru said, focus on the goal. The demon will kneel and you will be in control once again."

She nodded, trying to clear her mind and focus. Soon, she felt the demon going down. She opened her eyes and Spike was relieved to see the familiar green gaze. He had only seen her demon in control a handful of times, but it had been more than enough. He wasn't sure if it was due to the circumstances of her death or if her nature was dark, but her demon was one of the cruelest he had ever witnessed. It was not something he wanted to see happen here, especially when they would have to face Damien. The element of surprise would not longer be on there side, which meant they would need a plan.

"Thank you." She said, reluctant to remove her hands from his. She was enjoying the contact.

"I need you here Willow, not the demon. Do you know what we are going to do?"

She said, "I'm going to go to sleep right now. Then, tomorrow we will face the others. I'm sure they will either want me dead or they'll ask more of their pointless questions."

"Then?"

She moved closer to him, her eyes asking. Surprised, his arms went around her, comforting her.

She spoke softly, "Then, I get ready to face my Daddy."
