~Part: 21~

Faith slowly walked into Angel's office to give him
time to wish he'd never started this whole thing.
"Could you possibly be any more of a dumb ass if you
tried?" She asked.

"You don't know anything about this, Faith, so don't
butt in." Angel said in an irritated voice.

"Right," the slayer replied, genuinely hurt from his
words and tone of voice. "And you know exactly what's
going on with Willow and Spike. Hell, you even managed
to alienate Willow because you know all about it and
didn't butt in. Am I correct in that assumption?" He
lowered his eyes to the floor. "That's what I
thought." She said. "You don't deserve her friendship.
Hell, you're pushing away more than Willow. You need
to stay out of her life, and let her make her own
decisions." She turned to leave the office, but
stopped and faced the dark-haired vampire once more.
"Oh, and you can also not talk to me anymore unless
it's business related." She walked out of the office,
past her friends and up the stairs.

Angel was looking at the space the slayer vacated as
another brunette walked over to him and punched him in
the chest.

"Way to go, genius." Cordelia told him.

"Cordelia."

"Are you TRYING to get everyone pissed off at you?"
she interrupted him. "Because it's working, mister!"
She didn't let him answer, she just walked out of the
office, grabbing Fred's hand in the process and
pulling the physicist upstairs with her.

"Women." Angel said as he stepped into the lobby. Gunn
and Wesley just raised eyebrows at him, letting him
know he was on his own on this one.

The two brunette women got to Faith's room and
Cordelia knocked on the door.  Faith opened it and
motioned for them to come in.

She was still pacing like a caged animal. "I can't
believe he's so blind a-and STUPID!" The Bostonian
said angrily. "You know what? I'm so done with him."

"Faith, you don't mean that." Fred told her friend,
trying to be supportive. "He's just being a jerk right
now, that's all."

"She's right, Faith." Cordelia added. "All men have to
be jerks for certain periods of time. It's like a rule
or something." She suddenly gasped.

"Is it a vision?" Fred asked concerned.

"No," Cordy answered smiling while both women looked
at her with curiosity. "It's a brilliant idea!"

Meanwhile.

"You are positively the most impatient person I have
ever met in my entire life!" Willow told Spike.

"Why?" He retorted. "Because I want to know what you
bought me with Paingel's money?"

"Okay, fine." She said in mock exasperation. She
walked over to the bags of her purchases. She found
the one she was looking for and reached inside. The
witch pulled out a smaller bag. She sat on the edge of
the bed. Spike bounced in his seat next to her.

"C'mon Red!" He whined.

"If you whine again, I won't give it to you until we
get back to Sunnydale." She warned. The vampire
pouted. She reached into the bag and handed it to him.

Spike read the title aloud. "The Sonnets of William
Shakespeare." He sighed and flipped through the pages.
"Willow, this is." He didn't finish the sentence that
was said softly. Willow noticed the way his eyes
glistened with what looked to be unshed tears. He took
a deep breath and tried to contain himself. "This is
the most thoughtful gift I've ever received." He
blinked and looked up to her beautiful face. "Thank
you." He whispered and kissed her on the cheek.

"You really like it?" she asked hesitantly. She was
afraid he would think it was an insult to his vampire
nature. But, she liked hearing him talk about poetry
and literature. She loved the fact that he was so well
educated, and still became the Big Bad.

"I love it, pet." He replied with a sincere smile.

"So, read something from it." She told the former
poet. She loved listening to his voice as he read. She
realized he could read the listings in the phone book
and she'd love hearing it.

"Will," he was about to decline until he saw the 'Sad
Willow Face'. "Right then." He looked through the
pages until he found what he wanted to read. "This one
is my favorite." He cleared his throat and began.

"Sonnet 130

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;

Coral is far more red than her lips' red;

If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;

If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.

I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,

But no such roses see I in her cheeks;

And in some perfumes is there more delight

Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.

I love to hear her speak, yet well I know

That music hath a far more pleasing sound;

I grant I never saw a goddess go;

My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground.

And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare

As any she belied with false compare. "

The redhead was smiling and watching the beautiful
words leave the beautiful lips of her favorite
vampire.

"Do you know why this is my favorite?" He asked.

"I know why it's mine." She replied. He raised an
eyebrow. "It's my favorite because the woman he's
talking about isn't the most beautiful, and perfect
woman on the planet. But, he still loves her as if she
were." She paused and looked away.  "I always wished
someone would think that way of me."

"It'll never happen." Spike said thoughtfully.

"Gee, thanks Spike." She deadpanned.

"It'll never happen because you ARE the most beautiful
and perfect woman on the planet." He told the hacker.

Then, as Willow took a breath to speak, there was a
knock on the door.

Willow stood, in a daze and walked over to the door
and opened it.

"Pick out your outfit from the new things we got
today, Will." Cordelia stated as she stormed into the
room, followed by Faith and Fred. "It's SO girls night
out."
