Part 17 EPILOGUE

When she woke up, Buffy couldn't move.  She knew she was underground.
She remembered this place all too well.  She felt the pull of a vampire.
"Remember this place Buffy?" the voice asked.

"Yes, I died here." She said in a soft voice. She kept her eyes closed,
preferring the darkness.

She felt the cool hand touch the side of her face. She didn't flinch as
the fingers tenderly touched her face. The gesture was a mockery of devotion.
She waited for the bite.  It never came.  She knew the sun was still out. "We
let her down in so many ways. I am glad you got rid of Puppy.  It was
sickening how he followed her around."

"I am a slayer, I kill vampires." She said in a flat voice.

"He hurt her.  He made her what she is because we failed her." The voice
said.

"Is this where you kill me?" Buffy asked in a bored tone.

"No yet, my princess.  The day is so young.  I have all this pent up
energy. I loved you for so long. Many nights I dreamed of you. I longed to
touch you."

"I know."

"You tormented me with those short skirts. Teasing me with what you would
never give to me." He said. "You pushed us away, alienated us when we
could have stuck together.  We could all be having fun, but ...it really
doesn't matter."

"Sorry, it was an adjustment period."

"Well, that is what this will be a period of change."

Buffy was silent as the voice taunted her.  She was tired of this. She
felt like she lost everything.  She knew it wasn't Angel she saw that night
at the Bronze, it was Angelus.  He was with her, with Faith.  Willow, Xander,
Giles, Tara...they were all gone now.  She lost Riley.  She only wanted to
die again. She didn't want the responsibility for the world.  She wanted
peace, something her soul would never know.

She felt the cool hand traveling up her thigh.  She felt the cool kisses.
Her body responded, she didn't want to.  It felt so good. "Please.." She
said.

He smiled as she begged.  He saw the sparkle in her eyes long gone.  She
had vacant eyes.  He knew she would normally put up a better fight. This
saddened him. He took his clothes off in front of her, letting her eyes
travel his body.  He climbed on top the crypt where he had her bound. She
didn't flinch as the knife cut away her clothes. He touched her, making her
moist for him. He then buried himself in her.  She held him tightly.  He
pounded into her.  She came. "Its okay, sleep now Buffy. You will feel better
soon." She felt the fangs on the other side of her neck. She felt like she
was drowning all over again.

"Xander..." Was the last thing she spoke as the darkness took over.

He kissed her forehead and cut his wrist.  He didn't want to be alone.
She would finally see him as her prince, her dark prince. He wouldn't be
alone.
