"Okay, remind me agin why *Spike* has to be here?" Buffy asked for the fifth time in an hour.
"Because Buffy," Giles said to the annoying slayer, "Willow seems to think of Spike as a friend and this is *her* birthday party."
"Yeah, I don't know why she bloody thinks of me as a friend, I'd just as well be at my crypt right now."
"Oh yeah, doing what fangless? Gnawing on your arm?" Xander said, equally annoyed that Spike had to be there.
"I don't know what you guys are bickering about, this is Willow's birday, shouldn't the fact that she's happy be the most important thing?"
"Thank you Anya," Giles said, grateful that someone else cared about Willow.
"Other than orgasms of course," Anya said, finishing her thought.
"I spoke to bloody soon," Giles said, knowing that he shouldn't have been so hopeful as to think that the ex-demon had forgotten about sex, even for a second.
"Oh I think I hear Willow coming!" Buffy said, excited to get this party going.
"Alright, everyone hide!" Giles commanded, "except you Spike, you stay up and greet her."
"Why me watcher?"
"Because, there would be no reason for you to be in her house, it'll be a great part of the surprise."
"Whatever you say," Spike said, thinking that this was going to end badly.
Buffy turned the lights off as the rest of them hid and Spike just stood there. They could all hear Wilow placing the key in the lock and finally opening her apartment door. She turned on the lights and was surprised to not only see Spike but tons of decorations.
"Spike! What are you doing here?"
"Um, surprise," Spike said, hoping that this would cue the others to get up.
"I thought w-" Willow started seductively.
But before she could get any farther, the rest of the Scoobies jumped up and yelled, "SURPRISE!"
"OH! Guys, what are you doing here?" Willow said, truly surprised and hoping that they didn't know what she was about to say to Spike.
"It's a surprise party Wills, duh. Come on you know that I would never forget your birthday!" Xander said as he came up and gave his childhood friend a hug.
"Alexander Harris! You almost scared me to death!" Willow said, figuring out that they didn't know what she was about to say to Spike, thank god.
"I've seen you fight vamps and other demons without flinching and that scared you? Wow Wills, you really are *special*," Buffy said, joking with her friend.
"Well I should say that is probably wasn't very smart of us then, huh? Scaring one of the most feared demons in Sunnydale and all," Giles said, playing with the readhead that had become more of a daughter to him.
"Oh shut up you!" Willow said, equally playful to the watcher that had been more of a father to her than her own had ever really been.
"Yeah, yeah, happy birthday Red," Spike said, walking up from where he had been before.
"Thank you Spike," Willow said, smiling at the gorgeous blond in front of her, "okay, now where are my prezzies!?!"
"Very subtle Will," the slayer said swatting at her friend.
"A woman from my very heart," Xander said going and getting a present for his best friend.
"Touche," Giles said, laughing at the people who he thought of as children's antics.
"Here ya go Wills, from me, your knight in shining armor," Xander said with a wink.
"Ohh, yippie!" Willow said with childlike enthusiasm.
Being totally un-Willow like, she ripped open the wrapping paper from all directions to get to the box. Once she got to the box she tried to open it just to find that it was secured with tons of tape. The got Xander a, "Damn you Xande and all your fucking tape," from Willow and making the rest of them laugh.
"Okay who's got a knife?" Willow finally asked when she couldn't get the box open by herself, "okay, either give me a knife or I'm magicing it open," she said threateningly.
"Alright, alright, witch here ya go," Spike said as he handed Willow a knife that he had pulled from his right boot, "don't wantcha bloody having me kiss the slayer again."
"Oh shut up," Willow said as she cut open the box and just lopped the knife behind her at Spike.
"Bloody hell! Are you *trying* to cut parts of my anatomy off?"
Ignoring Spike, Willow finally got threw all of the wrapping paper and got to the prize in the middle.
"Hardy har har har Xander," Willow said as she pulled out a formal dress
and matching shoes that she had worn to homecoming in hightschool.
There was also a not saying,

You, me, and the formal clothing behind the bookshelves during research.'
As Xander and Willow laughed the rest of them were puzzled. So Xander and Willow explained about the whole formal clothing thing, though the rest of them still didn't think that it was very funny.
Willow then opened Buffy's present which was some black leather pants and a green halter. She said she got them because Willow needed to dress sexier and then all the guys would see how gorgeous she is.
Giles got her a large tome about witches of the past, it was volume 98: Rosenburge. This made Willow tear up a little and she gave the watcher a big hug for it.
Anya got her a box of "toys" saying that with what experience she'd had with these kinds of "toys" were very pleasurable and she got lots of orgasms from them. She also assured Willow that they had never been used but Willow wasn't fully convincec.
"Okay now that all the present giving is out of the way, let's watch some movies!" Buffy exclaimed happily, she hated watching people get presents when she didn't get any.
As they all sat down to watch 'Happy Gilmore', one of Willow's favorites, Spike stopped her and said, "Here ya go REd, I hope you like it," as he handed her a little rectangular box.
Willow opened the box to find a sterling silver, diamond encrusted bracelet with little red roses on it.
"Oh my god Spike, thank you!" Willow exclaimed as she eveloped the vampire in a hug.
After the movie was over and everybody left, except Spike. He volunteered to stay behind and help clean up the mess.
"Thank you for being so nice tonight," Willow said as she went over and gave her boyfriend a kiss.
"Anything for you pet, I just wish that we didn't have to keep it a secret," Spike said as he held Willow.
"I know but by this time next week, we'll have a nice little apartment in L.A. and new jobs working for 'Angel Investigations'."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Now if we're done talking about the future, I'd like to enjoy the present and speaking of presents," Spike said as he reached for the box Anya had given Willow for her birthday.
"Well I think that is a good plan," Willow said, kissing the man she loved again, happy that they wouldn't have to hide their relationship anymore.
