Spike sat and watched as Willow mourned over Oz, the bloody wolf. She didn't look like she was unhappy but he could see it in her eyes. None of her, so called, friends seemed to even care. She would say that she was okay and they would believe her. Maybe they didn't but they were to wrapped up in their own lives to care. Willow was the only one that really seemed to care if he lived or died. Always making time out of her schedule for him. He missed her smile, the one that would light up a room. He'd do anything to make that smile come back.

And I'd give up forever to touch you
`Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I've ever been
And I don't want to go home right now

He wanted to make her laugh, wanted to make her smile, wanted to make her scream his name in pleasure. He wanted her to want him. He wanted her to scream out his name as she came. As he fucked her against a wall, as he drove into her hard and fast. But what he really wanted was for her to love him; to love him like he loved her. He wanted to make love to her, slow and sweet. He wanted it to last forever and never stop.

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
And sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

Spike scolded himself for letting his mind wander. Now here he was sitting with a boner, that he could do nothing about, while the watcher droned on and on about some bloody demon. He really didn't want to be caught sporting a hard on that could win an award. He snuck another look at his goddess and caught her eye. As he looked into her eyes, he saw what she was thinking and how she was feeling; pain, confusing, wanting, and anger.

And I don't want the world to see me
`Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

He wanted to tell her that he loved her but even as this thought came to his head he knew better. She could never love him. He was evil and she still loved the mutt. She was still holding onto the hope that he would come back to her. Not only that but she still believed that she had to be everything that her friends wanted her to be. They would never condone a relationship, so no, it would never happen

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive

Spike looked Willow over, her hair, her body, her eyes, and her clothes. She was beautiful really; even if she hid it underneath all those frumpy clothes. The most beautiful part of her though, had nothing to do with her clothes or the way she looked, her soul. He imagined what it would be like for her to love him, for her to look into his eyes and feel the same thing that he did. She was so much like him, loving with her whole heart, not really feeling comfortable in her own body, and always trying to life up to something or someone. He didn't know how the wolf could have left her or bloody cheated on her.

And I don't want the world to see me
`Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

Spike had gotten over Dru along time ago. It was probably when he came back to Sunnydale the first time. He had kidnapped his fire goddess and was trying to make her do a spell for him. His subconscious must have known before him, because he had come all the way back here for a witch. There must have been thousands along the way to pick from. But he'd come here and gotten Willow. Then when he had threatened to kill her, she yelled him. She was a spitfire all right. Then after that, she had comforted him when he cried about Dru. He wanted to be able to comfort her now.

And I don't want the world to see me
`Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

As the Scooby meeting ended Spike sighed. No used thinking about what could never be. The chit would probably find someone else, someone her friends would approve of. He'd probably be into magic too. Spike knew all about unrequited love and even though he hated it, he knew he was in for a lifetime of it.

And I don't want the world to see me
`Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

The End
