The rain pounded down in the dark night. Willow sighed and closed the curtain in her living room. *I’ll just sit in the dark with some candlelight and listen to some music* she thought. It sounded nice and relaxing to her. She pushed a few buttons on her CD player and lay back on her couch and snuggled in her sweats. The fire crackled soothingly in the fireplace. She had just settled down when a huge crash of thunder sounded. She jumped and shook herself. *It's just thunder* she told herself. Willow took a look out the window and saw a bolt of lightening flash through the sky.
To her surprise the light outlined a figure on her porch. She got up and walked slowly to her front door. She opened it and was practically blasted by the wind. In front of her door stood a figure trembling.
“Spike?” she asked in confusion. Spike silently looked at her but Willow felt as if he wasn’t really looking at anything. He was only wearing a black tee shirt and a pair of jeans. “What are you doing out here?” she asked.
“I didn’t have anywhere else to go,” he said quietly. The look in his eyes confused Willow all the more. If it was one thing she had learned after living on the Hellmouth it was that vampire never look vulnerable, weak, or scared. Spike fit all of the above categories. She walked outside and took hold of his arm. “Come in,” she said softly.
~And I’d give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you’d feel me somehow
You’re the closest to heaven that I’ll ever be
And I don’t want to go home right now~
“Come in here,” she said, leading him into the hallway. He followed her silently and watched as she pulled some towels out of a linen closet. She looked back at him and her heart filled with sympathy. He was staring off into space blankly shivering and his arms were crossed across his chest. Willow sighed. She took his hand and silently led him into the bathroom.
“Take the wet stuff off and put these on,” she said handing him some sweat pants. He nodded and walked into the bathroom. A few minutes later he emerged wearing only the sweat pants but he was still wet. Willow grabbed a towel and dried him off. She felt that he was still shivering. “What’s wrong?” she asked, looking directly into his eyes.
“She’s dead,” he said softly.
“Who?” Willow asked.
“Drusilla,” he whispered.
~And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight~
He looked as if the world had crashed down around him. Willow put her arms around his neck and hugged him. His head fell to her shoulder and she held him as a mother would a child.
She led him over to the couch and sat on it. He instantly curled up next to her putting his head in her lap and his hands held her knees. She stroked his hair lightly trying to soothe him.
“You’ll be all right,” she whispered. It slowly occurred to her how close she was to him. Her feelings for him, which she thought, were deeply buried emerged all at once. She felt her skin start to tingle. Then her old logic fled back into her mind. *Why are you trying to help a vampire that has tried to kill you through the death of his ex-girlfriend?* She asked herself. But somehow each time she looked at him she couldn’t stand the thought of not helping him. The fact that she had never seen him look so lost added to her sympathy.
~And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am~
After a long time of listening to the rain and watching Spike eventually fall to sleep Willow slipped off the couch and fell onto a chair across from him. His lean form was accentuated by the dim candlelight. Willow marveled at how still he looked. *He is so gorgeous* she thought looking at his semi-nude body. She sighed. She had never met anyone who was so in love with someone else. It amazed her how devoted Spike was to Drusilla. *Goddess I wish I had that* she thought.
Willow listened to the thunder rumble and the rainfall softly on her window. Eventually she felt herself begin to grow sleepy. She yawned and grabbed and blanket and covered herself up and then easily fell to sleep.
Spike opened his eyes and instantly they fell upon Willow. He watched her for a long time as she slept. A few strands of her red hair fell across her face as she slept. *She’s so beautiful* he thought. *Why the bloody hell did you come here?* he asked himself. But he knew the answer.
When he watched Dru kill herself it was like a final chapter to his long and pitiful love for her. She didn’t love him, not the way she loved Angel. He had wandered in the rain for a long time considering his options. Staking himself hadn’t seemed like a bad idea but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Then suddenly he thought of Willow.
Over the past few months he had slowly fallen for her. So tonight he had come to try and tell her something. . .anything, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it to her. He had just watched as she helped him without even knowing why. *The chit should hate me* he thought. He slowly sat up with a resolve.
~And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive~
Willow felt a hand softly touching her cheek. Her eyes flew open and she found herself looking into Spike’s.
“What are you doing?” she asked softly.
Spike looked straight into her eyes. “Looking at an angel,” he said.
Willow felt her cheeks grow red. Suddenly he leaned forward and his lips captured her in a tender kiss. Willow was surprised but her rational mind gave way to her feelings. She slipped her arms around his neck and kissed him back more then willingly. The kiss broke and Willow looked up at him, her face flush.
“I’m sorry,” he said quickly. “I shouldn’t have done that.”
“Spike,” Willow said softly.
“Now you’re probably going to kick me out or stake me or something. And frankly pet I don’t blame you,” he continued.
Willow stood up in front of him. She put her finger to his lips to silence him. “I am not going to kick you out or stake you,” she said. The reflection of the fire danced in her green eyes.
“You’re not?” he asked.
Willow shook her head. “But I am going to do this,” she whispered. She wrapped her hand around his neck and her lips rose to meet his. His hands fell to her waist and he kissed her back hungrily. Their mouths met again and again eagerly searching for more. Willow’s hands ran through his hair pulling herself closer to him. He pulled off her bulky sweatshirt leaving her only in her sweatpants and a green satin bra. His hands ran up her smooth skin leaving a trail of fire behind. Soon Willow found herself lying on the plush carpet. His hands traveled everywhere creating feelings she didn’t know existed.
His lips feathered her neck with kisses touching everything they could. Her hands traveled the smooth skin of his back keeping him as close to her as possible.
“God I want you,” he said softly in her ear.
Willow’s eyes met his. “Take me,” she whispered. “I’m yours.” Her emerald eyes were alight with passion. His lips met hers again.
She was about to grant him his greatest desire. His cool lips touched her hot skin over and over again. He removed her clothes and his slowly torturing her with his caresses and kisses. His lips traveled slowly from her smooth stomach to her lips again. She opened her mouth to his and his tongue searched her hot mouth. She whimpered as she felt his cool hard body flush against hers. He melted into her slowly and she moaned softly in pleasure.
Everything inside her turned to fire at once as he slowly moved inside her. His teeth grazed her skin softly as he kissed her neck. Willow’s nails lightly scratched his back silently asking for more. She kissed his neck softly giving back what he was doing to her. Spike growled in pleasure as her body arched into his. His lips found hers again capturing her soft whimper as he slowly tortured her with pleasure. His hands found hers and he pinned her arms under his above her head. Her lips were trapped by his as he moved faster, fulfilling both of their needs. With one last final scream of pleasure he let his siren collapse into his arms. He grabbed the forgotten blanket by them and covered them both with it as Willow snuggled against him. He slipped his arms around her and pulled her as close as possible enjoying her warmth.
~And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am~
Spike’s lips captured her for another soft kiss. Willow let her fingers trace the lines of his chest and she lay in his arms. The fire cast a warm light into the room adding to the atmosphere. His hands caressing her back erased any thoughts that might have crossed her mind. She looked up and saw a faraway look in his blue eyes.
“What are you thinking about?” she asked softly.
He looked down and caught a trace of fear in her eyes. It was fear of him regretting what had just happened. He kissed her again to chase away her fears. “I’m wondering how I fell into heaven,” he said softly.
A small smile graced her lips and her small hand caressed his cheek softly. “Really?” she asked quietly. He nodded and caught her hand in his. He kissed it softly and let it fall to his chest. Willow’s eyes slowly closed and he listened as she fell asleep in his arms.
~I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am~
The rain fell softly against the house and all was still. Spike listened to the redhead’s slow and shallow breaths and felt peace. Spike realized he had just fallen in love with the witch. He smiled and pulled her closer enjoying the way she fit into his arms. He finally had someone that was his.
~I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am~
