Prologue

Spike hated her. He hated her with the passion of a thousand suns. He
could see her in the middle of the circle, she was leaning on
Angelus's shoulder, looking delicate and docile. How appearances
could be deceiving. Her name was Willow, former best friend to the
Slayer and ex Scooby gang member.
Angelus had changed her little over two months ago.  His
original plan was to kill the little computer mouse because she found
a spell that could give him back his soul.  Then he changed his mind
and decided to turn her.  A new mind game for the Slayer, it would be
tourture to see her best friend in league with her enemies. That was
all it was supposed to be.  Willow was just a means to an end of
destroying the Slayer. A fledgling who would serve her Master without
question.
That was not the case, however. In a month's, time she had
moved quickly up the ranks, disposing of rivals and impressing
Angelus with killing a demon here or there. With Dru she took a
different approach, instead of making her an enemy, she made her an
ally. Willow would have tea and cakes regularly with her and Miss
Edith and listen patiently about her visions and what the stars sung
to her.  She was one of the few who had recognized the value in Dru's
visions and even encouraged her to talk about them, even if they
didn't make sense.  In turn, she had earned Dru's undying loyalty,
she would always go to Willow first about her new vision.
Her only real rival was Spike. He had always been Angelus's
favorite, even when he sired Dru, Spike had no fear of her taking his
place. As lovely and insane as she was Dru's interest lay in dolls
and the stars. It was only now that Spike had reason to worry.  When
Willow walked in, the minions cowered in fear. It had taken him years
to get that kind of respect.  She had to beauty, intelligence and
cunning to become a threat to him. The only thing Willow didn't have
was strength. She was still a fledgling, she still hadn't explored
all of the new sensations of being a vampire and lacked she
experience. That wouldn't stop her for long, she was a quick learner.
Manipulative and cruel, Angelus once said that he hadn't seen that
kind of instinct since Spike. That comment was not forgotten.
As it was meant to be.  Angelus was fully aware of his
childer's rivalry.  He enjoyed it goading them both, putting them in
situations together and ordering Spike to take Willow hunting.  One
time they had run into the Slayer. Spike started to attack, he had
wanted to kill her and add on to his record of Slayer killings.
Willow stopped him and insisted that now wasn't the time.  This had
allowed plenty of time for Buffy run off.  Needless to say that Spike
was furious.  He was going to stake Willow himself when she simply
smiled and reminded him that she was a favored childe of Angelus if
not * the * favorite.  Spike snarled and said he outranked her.  Her
smile got wider and she said the words "for now" and walked away.
Snarling even more, he threw the stake down and stalked home.
From then on things only got worse, they constantly bickered.
It would have come to blows but Angelus was always there to stop
them. As much as he relished the competition for his attention, he
would not let his childer fight it out.  Besides a fight might end
the competition and what would be the fun in that?
<One thing is for sure, Red this ends> Spike thought. He would be
damned if he would be second to some redheaded chit who was younger
than his leather duster.  <This ends Red. Even if it kills us
both>

Part 1

<I hate it when he looks at me> Willow thought. She felt exposed
under the gaze of Spike's ice- blue eyes. <All the more reason to get
rid of him> she thought. Spike would only get in the way of her
plans. Angelus would never completely trust her as long as Spike was
around.
"Master!" It was a minion, he was beaten, and his shirt was
torn.
"What is it?" Angelus said.
"Kavis demons attacked us Master, they killed the others" he
said.
"Kavis demons, they probably want to expand their territory." Angelus
said.
"I'll take some minions and take care of it." Willow said,
eager for another chance to prove herself.
"No, Spike is going to lead this assault" Angelus said.
"Why? I've killed demons before, and I have magic. What does Spike
have?" Willow asked, angry.
"Experience. Kavis demons are a savage race, and Spike has
dealt with them before." Angelus answered and then he turned to
Spike.
"Leave now they won't expect a retaliation so soon" he said.
"You, you and the four of you." Spike said pointing at the
minions and turning without even looking at Willow. She snarled and
her game face showed for a second. Spike smiled, enjoying her lack
of control. She pushed past the minions to walk right next to Spike.
"Where are we going?" she asked.
"Kavis demons usually live in the sewers. They need moisture." Spike
said. This would be the last time he would have to deal with the
bloody chit.
He had known about the Kavis demons for a few days now, it
was only a matter of time before Angelus would have ordered an
attack. All he had to make sure of was that Willow was at the wrong
place at the wrong time. Kavis demons were immune to magic, too bad
Willow didn't know that. <Not very creative but it gets the job
done> he thought, looking at her for hopefully the last time. Willow
was wearing a proper knee length green plaid skirt and a black
leather halter top, she wore no jewelry and let her long red hair
flow loose. She looked adorable and sexy at the same time.
<Damn shame. Red's a looker> Spike admitted to himself.
A minion removed the manhole, and Spike jumped in, Willow followed.
Thanks to their heightened senses they didn't need much light to see.
It didn't take long to find the clan. These demons had everything
claws, teeth- the works. The second they arrived the demons rushed at
them. Spike ducked a clawed hand and kicked right below the demon's
chest, its weak spot.
Willow got a punch in before she was thrown across the room.
That didn't stop her for long, she tried to hit him again, but the
demon blocked it. She tried to use magic a spell that should have
paralyzed him. It didn't work. Realizing she was in trouble Willow
looked around for help. All the others were busy fighting or getting
killed. And there was Spike with two dead demons at his feet, simply
watching.
< Bastard, he planned this!> she thought looking right at him
as the demon knocked her down.
<Bloody hell I can't let this happen> Spike thought and began to
charge over to the demon. He stopped as arrow flew by him barley
missing him, it hit the demon the back and he fell.
The Scooby gang had arrived.

Part 2

"Buffy, how nice it is to see you.  Thank you so much for saving me.
Such a shame you couldn't save your best friend." Willow said
sweetly.  Buffy flinched as if she had been slapped.  Giles had
warned her that their Willow was gone, but she hadn't expected
someone so … she so desperately didn't want to use the word * evil *.
The gang had come here because the demons were responsible for
killing at least two students.  Buffy surveyed the vampire in front
of her, regret written all over her face.
"Oh, Willow I'm sorry I couldn't save you." Buffy said. It
killed her knowing that her best friend was a vampire- something she
was born to destroy.
"Who are you talking to? * Your * Willow isn't here, her soul has
gone away to…I don't know where.  Hmm, I wonder where human souls go
after they're are forced out by a demon. Well, wherever she is, I
hope she isn't suffering * too * much." Willow added, smiling.
<She's * good *.> Spike thought with a few choice words she
had the Slayer in tears.  All crying and vulnerable.  Spike moved in,
pushing aside Xander and Cordelia, Giles was busy dealing with a
wounded demon.  He hit Buffy causing her to fall back a few steps,
Buffy hit back but her attack was half-hearted, still distracted
by her former best friend's vicious words. Spike was about to move in
when a hand grabbed his shoulder and wrenched him back.
"The Slayer is my kill." Willow said, vamping.  Spike vamped
back.
"I don't think so Red." Spike said.  They began to circle each
other.
"Guys, the demons are dead, and Willow and Spike are about to fight.
Maybe we should run right about now." Cordelia suggested. The others
agreed and escaped, the minions watched until one of them dared speak.
      "Spike, Willow."
"What?" they both snarled.
"It's almost sunrise, we have to leave." the minion said
careful to keep his distance.  Glaring at each other, they turned and
left the rest following behind them.  Not a word was said on the way
back to the mansion.
"Was the attack successful?" Angelus asked not bothering with
a greeting.
"The demons are dead, but the Slayer and her little friends
interfered." Spike said.  Angelus seemed thoughtful now.
"They could ruin my plans they have to be dealt with" Angelus
said.
"I have a plan" Willow said.  Angelus turned around and looked at her
as if had just noticed her.  He kissed her softly on the forehead.
"You will be going to bed. You've had a long night." Angelus
said.  Willow gritted her teeth. She hated when Angelus treated her
like a child.   Turning around, Willow walked to her room.
Remembering Spike and her close call with the Kavis demon.  It was
just as well she had some planning to do.

Part 3

<And to think I owe the Slayer for my life! >  Willow thought
as she paced back and forth in her room.  Spike knew about the Kavis
demons, he purposely didn't tell her so she could get herself
killed.  This wouldn't go unavenged. Willow stopped pacing, something
just occurred to her. If Spike knew about the Kavis demons so did
Angelus. Willow smiled. It was test. One of many, Angelus tested her,
putting her in situations, seeing how she would react. Often times
the reaction would result in great pain. Willow never once complained
about these tests, she endured them because in the end it would lead
her to her ultimate goal. To become Angelus' mate. Ruling by his
side, she would take orders from no one. Not even from a certain
blonde vampire.  Everything was falling into place. Soon Angelus
would be calling her to his bed, where she could expect more pain and
pleasure, she was sure. At the thought of being with Angelus, she
frowned.
Willow didn't have much experience concerning sex. She had
only done it once in the back of Oz's van. He had convinced her that
she had to sleep with him if she wanted to be his girlfriend. After
all he was in a band and had plenty of chances to be with other
girls.  It was about time she took care of his "needs" or he would
walk out on her. Willow was so afraid of being alone and nobody ever
loving her and she fell for it, and laid down still as a board and
let him grope and slobber all over her, all the while she prayed to
the goddess that it would be over soon and for it not to hurt very
much.  The most romantic thing he ever said to her was "Don't scream"
as he penetrated her for the first time. By the time the pain was
gone, he had already pulled out of her. "You were great." he said and
kissed her on the lips.  It was the first time that night he kissed
her.
Willow shook her head shaking the memory away.  Insecurities
belonged to that  * other * Willow- not her.  Still, there was a
problem of inexperience. Angelus had been with countless of beautiful
women during the centuries. She had to be better than all of them if
she wanted to be his mate.
<Well, that problem can be easily solved, I just need someone
to practice on> she thought.  But who? It had to been someone who
wouldn't brag about it, someone with a lot of experience who could
teach her things, someone like…..
      Spike.
He would be perfect.  A plan was beginning to form in her head. She
could make a potion in combination with a drop of her blood that
would make him think he was in love with her. It would be temporary,
still, it was perfect, the perfect revenge. To see him wake up and
hate himself for the way he acted the night before, professing his
undying love for her, fucking her hours on end while screaming her
name.  Spike would be so embarrassed he wouldn't say anything. Sure,
he would plan revenge, but by then she would be with Angelus and
mated to him, so Spike really couldn't do anything. It would be easy
she already has the spell book and the ingredients. She would slip it
into Spike's blood wine he and Angelus had every night while
discussing future strategies for dealing with the Slayer and other
enemies.   He would then come to her convinced that he had somehow
fallen in love with her. It was all so easy. What could go wrong?
