Willow sat at the table at the demon bar in Los Angeles fidgeting with the glass in front of her. How she came to be here… in this bar with Drusilla of
all peo… err vamps, she’d never know. The brunette vampiress had just walked up to the table she was sitting at and took a seat. Dru stared at her with mild interest. In the background an almost familiar song began to play softly and it couldn’t have been more appropriate.

You don't know me, but I know who you are
Mind if I sit down
Do I look familiar, If I don't well I should
I'm sure you've seen me around

Willow shook her head, that was the truth. “Uhm, hi?” she murmured shyly. “Haven’t seen you around in while.” Oh that sounds great, she thought to herself as she squirmed in the chair. Okay so she was in a sanctuary and Dru wouldn’t just kill her here, but still. Makes for a nervous Wiccan

Dru remained silent as she cocked her head to the side and stared at the redhead, then sniffed the air. “You smell like my Spike.” She murmured
softly, then growled.

“I—Well, yes. I we’re… kinda—“ she sighed and lowered her head. “Are you here for him again?” she asked softly.

“He is mine.”

Willow couldn’t believe it. She’d finally let the blonde vampire into her heart and the love of his unlife comes back. Dru never sticks around. Plays
with him, breaks his heart then off she goes again, leaving her to pick up the pieces. Of course this was the first time she admitted that they were
actually together. To make matters worse, the last few days he’d been mumbling about Dru in his sleep.

Drusilla raised her glass and took a sip. “He talks about you sometimes.”

“He is my sweet William,” she purred. “Takes care of his Princess.”

Willow closed her eyes. This was her worst nightmare. She’d yet again given her heart to someone … who didn’t really want her. “Yeah,” she mumbled.

Her eyes widened as a tall dark vampire walked up and nuzzled Dru’s neck, who purred and tilted her head back giving him better access. “Friend of
yours, kitten?” the stranger asked, then turned golden eyes on her.

“Friend of a friend,” Willow murmured, her hand going to the claiming mark that graced her throat.

Dru patted the vampire’s hand and smiled indulgently at the vampire, “Run along. I want to talk to the tree for a moment.” He nodded and slipped away.

The song still played and when Willow heard the next part she couldn’t bear it. It seemed to hit home. The whole thing did. The situation, the feelings, all of it.

Just one more thing before I go
I'm not here to put you down
You don't love him and that's a fact
I've seen you around
But you hold his heart in the palm of your hand
And it's breakin' mine in two
Cause I'm the fool in love with the fool
Who's still in love with you

The Wiccan closed her eyes for an instant, and waited. After what felt like an eternity, she opened them and saw Dru just watching her. “You… you don’t love him, but … I do. Just… stay away from us.” She stood and slid her chair back under the table.

Dru smiled slightly and for the first time since Willow had seen her, she looked sane. Totally sane. “Then go. Love him. He’ll be mine again when you’
re gone.”

Willow turned and fled the bar, heading for the hotel where the pair were staying. She hurried through the streets and up the hall to their room. She
opened the door and found the room empty. A note lay on the table.

Red,

Went out. Be back.

Spike

Willow held the note in her hands as she sat on the bed. “Please don’t go to that bar,” she whispered to the room. She wasn’t sure she could lose him to her… it would be just … beyond cruel.

The End.
