~Part: 1~

Willow was still no nearer to gaining info on the latest demon that was annoying the gang this week. It was some kind of dream demon, it had, had them all sleepwalking all week. All of them except willow had woken up at work in there pyjamas. Or woken up in the graveyard in the middle of the night. So Willow had gone to the magic shop to research. She sat at the table alone, Buffy was in the back training with Giles and Xander and Anya had gone for coffee to keep them all awake.

It had been a long night, Willow pondered as she rubbed her eyes and yawned.  She had been reading the same ancient text for the last hour, until it seemed to Willow that a spider was crawling across the page dragging the text behind it. So she had not noticed the book slipping from her fingers, as she drifted to sleep.

Soft music began to play. The harsh lights of the magic shop, the very walls seemed to soften.

Willow knew she was dreaming, but as she saw Spike standing by the counter looking at her and she realized that they were alone. She silently pleaded to any Goddess that was listening “never let this dream end”

As Spike tentatively approached her, Willow looked down a little unsure,

She realised she was no longer wearing her outsized jumper and faded denim skirt, but a clinging ivory satin dress, with plunging neckline, she wrapped her arms around herself as if to gather strength.

Spike stood by the counter, drinking in her beauty. He heard music start; he knew she secretly loved this song, and the dress he had chosen was perfect. Then to his horror she looked down. He felt like screaming “no! Don’t leave, stay and see the man that I am.”

He had to do something, right I’m going to walk over there and tell her that, that what. What would he tell her, the truth? “ Willow, I’m the dream demon you’ve been chasing and I did it all because I love you more than anything and I wanted you to see me, really see me.”

Yeah right that would really work, at best she would laugh and at worst he’d be able to fit in a dustpan instead of a duster.

Willow was so distracted by her appearance that she hadn’t noticed Spike walk over to her, as she felt his cold hand gently touch hers, she looked up with a start and found herself looking into spike’s deep blue eyes, she lent forward and pressed her lips gently to his before he had a chance to speak and spoil her dream.

His lips were cold as ice, yet soft and gentle, she slowly traced his lips with her tongue, as he leaned in closer and stroked her arm, she cautiously place a hand on his chest and felt cool satin beneath her fingers, and his firm muscles beneath, then in unison they broke the kiss.

“Willow would you dance with me?”

Was all Spike could think to say, he really wanted to make love to her, but the kiss had surprised him so much that all he could think to do was keep hold of his Red and feel her body against his, to caress her. The sweet taste of her lips still lingered on his, as he guided her to her feet and pulled her to him.

Here I am dancing with Spike, Willow mused as she let Spike pull her to him and envelop her in his cool embrace. Slowly they moved with the music, Willow letting her head lean on his chest. As she softly whispered

“ Spike I love you”

“ I love you too Red”

 Willows heart almost stopped as she heard his reply, then she remembered it was only a dream and a single tear rolled down her cheek.

Spike could not believe his ears, Willow loved him, and then he felt her heart race as he replied. Then he felt a tear moisten his shirt.

“It’s time to go home, Red.” Spike said as he released the spell, and returned them to their own time and space.

As Willow awoke. Her head resting on a pile of books, she faintly heard Spike say

“Luv”

“I do” she replied as she became fully conscious.

“I know” he replied to her mind, as he strolled towards her.

At that moment she knew the Dreamweaver was no demon, it was Spike, and he had done this all to show he loved her.

~Part: 2~

Willow sat up and swept the hair from her face as she looked around her. Spike was standing by the counter, smoking a cigarette, trying to look nonchalant, but Willow could still see the concern in his eyes as he watched her.

“So it was you all along. Had a good laugh didn’t you?” Willow yelled, trying to keep the tears from flowing.

Spike looked horrified, “Red, luv. It was no joke.” He whispered, just as the door to the Magic box burst open and Anya and Xander breezed in with the coffee, completely oblivious to the tension in the room.

“So Will, any luck with the books? I am sick of sleeping in my clothes, just in case,” Xander stated.

“Clothes do not lead to many orgasms,” Anya interrupted, as Xander’s face reddened.

“Thanks for the visual, but no, the books have been no use.” Willow replied as she shot Spike a knowing glare.

Just then, Buffy and Giles came through from the back room.

“Oh, good refreshments,” Giles said as he sat down in a vacant chair opposite Willow and proceeded to grab his coffee off the table.

“Any luck with the research, Will? I feel like kicking some demon butt,” Buffy said as she peered over Willow’s shoulder at the open book on the table.

“Nah, nothing, but I have a feeling that we’re close,” Willow smirked, glancing at Spike.

“Well, if there’s no O neg in there for me, I’ll be off,” snapped Spike as he turned to leave. He strolled purposefully out of the Magic Box and into the cold night air.

Willow felt a sudden sense of panic as he left; she had to know, how? why?

“I have to go, got an essay to finish by tomorrow, bye,” Willow explained as she grabbed her bag and hurried out the door.

~~~*~~~
“Spike, you’re a bloody fool,” he scolded himself as he stood in the alley next to the Magic Box, smoking another cigarette. Of course, Red would be angry. “All I wanted to do was tell Red how I feel. I wanted everything to be perfect.” He said to himself as he stared at the night sky.
“It was,” Willow whispered as she stood in the alley.
She walked apprehensively towards him, “Spike, am I dreaming?”
“No, luv, why?”
“Because, I want to be awake for this one.”
And with that Willow grabbed the cigarette out of Spike’s mouth and threw it to the ground. Then she leaned towards him and captured his mouth with hers in a passionate kiss that surprised them both.
