An arm rested, restraining her at the neck another was griped tightly around her waist in an almost lover like gesture. Words were whispered, his cold breath tickling the very fibres of her being. “Giving up yet?” his voice gruff and unpolished through his year of living, “Nope” she spoke with clarity as her leg swung up at impossible angles to kick his head with the toe of her steel capped boots, before using his grip around her neck to send him flying over her shoulder and to the ground, stretching it to apply pressure. Unfortunately he was stronger than she anticipated and pulled her to the ground beside him dislocating his shoulder in the movement. “Shit” he mumbled his curse as she was once again straddling his waist, punches flew at his face none were focused precise, just a show of emotion much repressed. The look on her face was one of pure rage, it was beyond anger. He managed to block many techniques yet often they were so bizarre he didn’t see them coming and suffered the consequences.
After what felt to the pair like many hours but was in fact mere minutes she broke down, climbed off him and sat crying. He crawled over and placed his arms around her no longer intent upon damage but healing, discovering what had caused this hurt.
“What’s the matter babe?” he mumbled into her hair as she turned around to cry openly into his shoulder, She sat and spilt out her anguish to his listening ears. “I’m sorry spike I shouldn’t have” she said moving away “I know you don’t care it’s just I couldn’t help it” she was about to turn and flee embarrassed bout her flurry of emotions.
“I do care” he spoke so softly she almost didn’t hear him.
She ran away like them all they didn’t love him no one ever could and here was he thinking he was in with a chance it wasn’t possible, she may have been depressed and unloved but in his heart she was like an angel no one else was more precious, Yet they never understood never fulfilled his wishes, he never got to love them as they deserved to be loved.
