"I think it worked."

"Ho-how do you know?"

"Willow seemed really upset this morning, but she wouldnt tell me what
happened. And she didnt mention Spike for the first time since...."

"Since....we broke up."

"Yeah."

"Well...thats good, r-right?"

"Of course! Why wouldnt it be good?"

"Dont...dont we want her to be happy?"

"She can be happy without him...and she will be. I promise."

"Hey, watch it!"

Willow's things fell to the ground and she was snapped back into reality.
"Oh, i, im sorry. My mind is somewhere else."

"Rosenberg?"

Willow looked up and saw Percy. "Oh, hi Percy!"

Percy crouched down and started helping Willow pick up her things.
"Psychology..your still taking that?"

She smiled. "Yeah, its fascinating."

"Oh, i wouldnt be able to take that...of course, you know that." he laughed,
"What else are you taking?"

"Drama."

"Drama?? You wanna be an actress?" he laughed again, then smiled at her.
"Thats cool, i just...honestly dont see you in drama class."

"Thats ok, i didnt really either."

They both stood, and Percy handed Willow her books. "Be more careful. Next
time you might not run into anyone as nice as me." he winked.

She grinned. "Yeah, ok."

Percy turned and walked away, stopping once to look back at her.

LATER, LUNCH HOUR

"Hey Rosenberg."

Willow looked up from her book and met Percy's eyes.

"..Percy...hi!"

He smiled. "Can i sit here?"

She looked to the empty seat next to her in disbelief.

"Um, sure. What do you want? Um, that came out wrong. I just
mean...well...what do you want?"

He laughed and sat down. "Dont worry. I dont blame you for being shocked.
We've never really been...friends."

She nodded agreeably. "Yeah, it kind of worked out that way..with you being
cool and me being..geek."

Percy felt a twinge of guilt. "Yeah..uhh, im sorry. About that. I mean...i
always wanted to talk to you. Get to know you. But high school can put
this...pressure on you. To fit into one group and one group only. And you
and i were in different groups."

"You wanted to get to know me?"

"Yes....i was thinking...maybe...it isnt too late?"

Willow smiled. "Of course not. We could get together and hang out sometime."

Percy smiled back, happily. "Yeah, how bout we go to the Bronze tonight?"

"Oh ok. Sounds good."

"Great!" Percy stood up. "I'll see ya about 7 then?"

Willow nodded. "Ok. See ya there!"
