Willow and Drusilla walked up and down the isles of the movie store.
"What kind of movies should I get, tree?" Drusilla asked.
"I don't know. What kinds of movies do you and Buffy usually watch?"
As she asked the question, it just felt weird. She would have never guessed
that Buffy and Drusilla would have become so close. She saw Drusilla's
clouded expression as she looked over movie titles. "Why don't you pick
movies you would like to see. I'm sure she'll enjoy them too."
"Very good idea, tree. I'll be right back." Drusilla went in search
of the movies as Willow watched movie previews on the television screen.
Moments later Dru returned with three boxes. She handed them to Willow.
Willow took the boxes and read the titles out loud. "Love Hurts, True
Confessions and Meant To Be. Dru, these sound like romance movies. Are
you sure this is what you want?"
"Yes, tree."
As they stood in line, Willow saw the candy. "Ooh.. gummi bears. Do
you want some?"
"No," she simply told Willow and then turned to growl at the gummi
bears.
"Dru?"
"The gummi bears could be evil. They could hurt us."
The two girls left the store, talking as they walked down the street.
~~~~~*****~~~~~*****~~~~~
Xander listened outside of the kitchen door as Spike and Buffy were
talking. Xander heard a zipper being undone and then heard silence until
Buffy spoke.
"That's enormous."
Xander knew he had heard too much. He barged through the kitchen door.
"What the hell are you two doing?" he yelled. He looked around at their
confused expressions. "Wait a minute, you're still dressed."
"You're observant moron," Spike said dryly.
"But I heard and then I heard. I think I should sit down."
"Xander look," Buffy squealed. "Isn't it enormous?" Buffy showed him
the object and Xander gave a slight smile.
Spike swiped the object out of Buffy's hand and put it in his duster
jacket and zipped up the pocket. "I'm leaving. Thanks for the advice, Slayer."
He quickly made his way back to the apartment he shared with Willow.
~~~~~*****~~~~~*****~~~~~
Willow opened the door to their apartment. She could hear a song playing
softly on the radio that she didn't recognize.
Is a love so fragile?
And the heart so hollow
Shatter with words...impossible to follow
You're sayin' I'm fragile...
I try not to be, I search only...
for somethin' I can't see
I have my own life...
and I am stronger than you know
But I carry this feelin'...when you walked into my house
That you won't be walkin' out the door
Still I carry this feelin'...when you walked into my house
That you won't be walkin' out the door
CHORUS:
Lovers forever....face to face
My city or mountains...stay with me stay
I need you to love me...I need you today
Give to me your leather....take from me...my lace
You in the moonlight..with your sleepy eyes
Could you ever love a man like me?
And you were right..when I walked into your house
I knew I'd never want to leave
Sometimes I'm a strong man, sometimes cold and scared
and sometimes I cry......
But that time I saw you...I knew with you to light my nights....
somehow I'd get by
CHORUS
Take from me....my lace
Take from me....my lace
"Spike?"
"In the kitchen, pet."
She walked into the kitchen, smiling as she saw him. It looked like
he had just woken up. His pants were zipped but not buttoned at the top.
His shirt was absent and his hair was tousled.
"Have fun, pet? With Dru?"
"She's...strange. She was telling me about evil gummi bears." She saw
Spike's confused expression. "Don't ask."
"Alright," he said smirking. "I was about to have some ice cream, you
want some?"
"Sounds good. Thanks." She walked over to Spike and slided her hands
over his chest. "I could just eat it off of you."
Spike moaned at the offer. He kissed her neck gently. "You need to
save your energy for tomorrow night," he whispered. He looked into her
eyes. "It's our one year anniversary. I have something special planned."
Willow leaned over to his ear. "Promise you'll make me scream?" she
whispered.
"You'll be begging me, luv." Spike started to smirk. He held her to
him and kissed her passionately. He pulled away. "I love you, Red."
"We don't have to wait till tomorrow night."
"You'll love it. I promise. Go on and sit on the couch. I'll bring
you your ice cream." Moments later Spike entered the living room with two
bowls. He handed one bowl to Willow, vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup.
He sat down next to her with the other bowl, vanilla ice cream with blood.
They sat on the couch, watching television, just enjoying each others
company. When he heard her steady breathing, he realized she was asleep.
He got up quietly and turned off the TV. He then turned to Willow and picked
up her sleeping body. He held her close as he walked to their bedroom.
Spike placed Willow on the bed and joined her. His fingers danced through
her hair as she snuggled closer to him. "I love you, Red. Always." He drifted
off to sleep, joining her in slumber.
As she woke the following afternoon, she reached for Spike, but felt
him missing. Her eyes widened as she looked around the room. There were
white roses everywhere. It was beautiful. She climbed out of bed and opened
her door to the hallway. The hallway floor was covered in red and white
rose petals. The petals felt like velvet under her bare feet. She entered
the living room and saw Spike with his back to her. "Spike?"
He turned around quickly and smiled as he saw Willow walking towards
him. "Happy Anniversary, Red."
"The flowers are beautiful, Spike."
"You're beautiful, luv." Spike was suddenly aware of how nervous he
was. He joined his hands with hers. "I love you," he said while looking
into her eyes. "I want you with me always. You're destined to be my mate.
You're my moon, my stars, my everything. I've waited my whole unlife for
you. I'll never let you go." He reached into his pocket and opened the
box. Spike knelt on one knee. "Willow, will you marry me?"
Willow's eyes widened as she saw the same ring that Spike had asked
Buffy's advice on. The same ring that Xander had seen hours before. Willow
knelt down to where Spike was kneeling. "Yes. Very much yes." She watched
as he slipped the ring on her finger. As they kissed, she felt the world
fade away.
The End
