Willow walked through the door and found Spike sitting on the couch. "Hey." she greeted him.

"Hey, luv. Have fun with the moron?" <Wish you had been here.>

"It was ok. What are you doing?" <He didn't even miss me. Do I want him to miss me?>

"Just watching the telly. Want to join me?"

"Sure. Just let me get a drink from the kitchen. Want something?"

"I'm good."

"I'll be right back." Willow walked into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator, grabbing a drink and headed back to the main room. As she entered the living room, she froze for a moment, just watching him. She watched as his whole body shook when he laughed. She studied him, glad to see he felt at home here. The last year had been different and full of unexpected events. A little over a year ago, Buffy Summers, her best friend, was killed saving the world. Buffy managed to kill the demon that threatened to end the world, but unfortunately the demon had managed to pierce a sword through her stomach at the same time. Willow, along with everyone else, watched as the longest living Slayer fell to the ground and died. Shortly after, Giles had left for London. Xander and Anya decided to move in with each other, but rarely left the house after dark. A new Slayer had been called and sent to Sunnydale but ignored their offers of help. She said it would be too strange to work with an ex-demon, a witch, and a vampire. She accepted her calling as a Slayer but didn't want any of the help that Buffy had had.

Willow shook her head, trying to push the though of Buffy out of her mind. Slowly, she walked over to the couch and sat next to Spike, smiling slightly.

"You ok?" he asked concerned.

"I'm ok." She watched as he turned his attention back to the TV. She studied him for a moment. He had been another unexpected event to happen in her life. Shortly after Buffy's death, Spike had moved in with her. She was living in her parents' house and there was more than enough room. At first he had started to crash after patrol, when dawn threatened to burn him. As time wore on, he would pretend to be asleep on the couch or just ask if he could crash. She always said yes, never pushing him away. After Buffy had died, their arrangement became permanent. He had fixed up the extra room to be his own. For the last year, they had been living together. More importantly, for the last year, she had been falling for him.

Spike pretended to turn his attention back to the TV, but his thoughts were on her. They usually were. This last year had been different. He watched a Slayer die and not by his own hands. He saw how that one event affected so many people. The new Slayer didn't want their help but that didn't stop him. He still needed his violence. And he was more than happy to use it on demons. Willow, without telling anyone, deactivated his chip three months ago. He didn't kill humans though. He couldn't. He had become Willow's protector. He was the one that watched out for her. He was the one sh e had come to need and honestly he loved every moment of it. He really was love's bitch. He was falling for her hard and fast. <If only the chit would look at me once like that.>

"So.um."

Spike turned to face her and saw her facial expression. He knew that facial expression. That was the face that said she had something to tell him but wasn't sure how he would react. "Oh no."

Willow scrunched up her nose. "Oh no what?"

"You have that face."

"What face?"

"The face that says that you know something. The one that says when you tell me, I'm probably not gonna like it."

"Well."

"Tell me now, luv."

"I had lunch with Xander today."

"Already knew that, pet."

"Well they've moved the wedding up a bit. It's in a month. And we've been invited. As in you and me."

Spike leaned his head to the side. "Me and you, huh?"

"Well not like me and you.it's just well the invitation is for me and you."

He loved watching her get flustered. "Pet, I really don't fancy becoming dust. The sunlight."

"Not a problem. They're holding the wedding at night. It's gonna be outside, under the stars and there's gonna be candles and."

"Outside? On the Hellmouth? Whose bright idea was this?"

She looked away from his gaze. "It was kinda mine," she mumbled.

"Yours?"

"Well, yeah. Anya and Xander couldn't agree on a place and I brought the idea up and they loved it. Before the wedding, I'm going to do a spell with Anya. A protective barrier for the guests, so nothing eats them."

"A month, huh?"

"Yeah. You don't have to go. I just thought."

He leaned forward and placed his fingers under her chin, turning her head towards him. "I'd love to." He saw her smile and it warmed his dead heart. <Once again, I'm love's bitch.>
