~Part: 1~

Willow arrived home in the early morning. She had been researching with Giles until she could hardly keep her eyes open. Once she arrived home she checked her answering machine. No messages, but her caller ID was flashing. Unavailable flashed on the little box. Unavailable, what a perfect word she thought degrading herself. Valentine's Day is right around the corner and as usual I'm alone. She walked into the bedroom and looked at herself in the full length mirror. The longer she stood there staring at herself the more she seemed to question the things in her life. But it always came down to love. Not puppy love or a crush but the kind of love that is undying and solid. The kind that sweeps you off your feet and is out of control. Her mind drifted back to being alone. She was tired of not having anybody. With that thought, she stripped off her clothes and climbed into bed.

Outside, watching behind a tree, Spike watched her bedroom light turn off. He had been watching her walk home for weeks. He felt the need to protect her. He didn't understand it himself. He was drawn to her. "Bloody hell," he mumbled. "The only evil bad that's ever gonna get her is me." Where the hell did that come from he wondered. He cringed as he thought how much he was turning into his sire. As he walked back to his crypt he let his mind wander. Valentine's day was around the corner. He hated being alone especially on this day. He didn't want just anybody. He wanted someone that he would take care of. Someone that would be devoted to him. Love is like blood he thought. He opened the crypt door and lit some candles. His mind automatically went to Red. A human. A mortal.

She woke up in the afternoon. She didn't have any classes that day. She decided to get dressed and stop by the expresso pump before going to see Buffy and Giles. She opened the door and on the outside was a single white rose attached to the outside of the doorknob. She took the rose but dismissed the fact that it was actually left for her. She entered the magick shop with her laptop and the rose.

"Brought me a flower," Buffy asked sarcastically?

"Someone left it on my door by mistake."

"How do you know it was a mistake," the Slayer asked?

"Because I know," was all that Willow said.

She glanced around the room when her eyes set upon Spike sitting on the couch looking through a book. Spike could feel her pain and hurt in her voice as she talked to the Slayer. And then in a moment crystal blue eyes met piercing emerald green eyes.

"Spike."

"Red."

"What are you doing here? It's a little early isn't it?"

"I came to discuss a demon with Giles before the sun rose and I kinda got caught here." Like I'm gonna tell her the bloody truth. Gee Red I really wanted to see you and not be obvious because a stake throught the heart from the Slayer just wasn't on my list of things I wanted to do today. That I actually have something in my unlife to look forward to-you.

"Oh." Why did she think he was there. There was something about him she couldn't put her fimger on. She sat down and opened her laptop. She couldn't resist glancing a look at him. It felt that her knees were going weak. She dismissed it by claiming to herself it was because of Valentine's and shrugged it off. She decided all of a sudden she didn't want to be there. "I forgot I have to go. I have to be somewhere." Spike watched the redhead and knew it was a copout. There wasn't alot he could do being daylight and all. She went home grabbed a blanket, a bottle of malibu rum and laid in bed. Thoughts of everything and nothing crossed over her mind. Especially Spike.

He knew she was in the house. He could sense her. He could sense her pain and her lonliness. It matched his own. After Dru, he didn't want to be hurt again. He didn't want to be possessed by love but knew that he would be. He was love's bitch. He left the gift on her doorstep and walked into the night.

Willow woke the next morning with a slight hangover. Where is that damn spell to rid the pain she thought to herself. She suddenly sensed something on the other side of the door. Being daylight she knew it wasn't a vampire. That didn't mean it wasn't something else. She grabbed the dagger that was on the table beside the door and opened it slowly. There was another white rose attached to the door and a black bag sitting on the steps. She took the bag inside, took out the item and placed it on the table. It looked like a......

~Part: 2~

It looked like an old journal. It was black leather with silver tipped pages. She opened the cover and read the inscription:

 Dearest Willow,
I hope you enjoy the words on these  pages. You are of true beauty.

 Love,
 William

As she read the words, it took her breath away. It was like everything in the world had stopped. The journal was a book of hand written poetry. She glanced through the book. It was so beautiful. She shut the book when she realized that she didn't even know a William. She placed the book of poetry in her bag and headed out to the magick shop. When she got there everybody was already there. Even Spike. She was sitting there trying to concentrate on research. She couldn't quit grinning. She tried, she really did.

"Something funny pet?"

"Just happy," she replied.

"Good to see you smile for a change. You are of true beauty," Spike answered.

She froze when he spoke the words. Afterwards she could feel her face turn red. "True beauty?" She looked at him in awe. It couldn't be. He was Spike. The Big Bad. A master vampire.

"Gotta go. Things to do." With that statement Spike walked out the door. Willow sat down on the couch in shock where Spike had been moments ago.

"Giles, I need to lie down."

"Are you ok?"

"I don't know."

"Valentine's day?"

"Something like that." She woke up several hours later. It was close to midnight. She grabbed a stake and her bag and headed home. Luckily she didn't run into any vamps on the way home. Not that she wouldn't mind seeing Spike. "Oh well," she said out loud. She never noticed Spike following her. She opened the front door and saw a trail of hershey kisses. There was a note that said follow the kisses. She followed the kisses until she reached her bedrrom door. Not knowing what to expect, she opened the door slowly. She couldn't believe her eyes. White and red rose petals covered the bed and the floor. She walked gently over to the bed and read the note that was laying in the middle of the bed.

 Roses are red
 Violets are blue
 Blood is eternal
 I will forever love you

A grin came across her face. She ran her hand along the bed through the rose petals and closed her eyes.

"Like it pet," Spike whispered in her ear.

Her eyes darted open as he whispered into her ear. "Spike, it was you wasn't it. It's,umm, it's beautiful. But the book?"

"Your beautiful pet. When I was human I was a poet luv." He paused waiting for her to laugh but instead she listened to him. She hung on every word. He continued, "I wanted you to have it."

"Me? But why?"

"Join me tommorrow. Dinner? There's a present in your closet."

"How could I refuse?"

"Until tommorrow." He took her hand, kissed it and then left.

She couldn't beleive she was accepting an invitation from Spike. She opened her closet door and there was themost beautiful dress that she had ever seen. It was a sleeveless green silk dress with a v-neck top. The dress was ankle length except for the slit up th side of the dress. The slit went from the floor and stopped at her mid thigh. Before going to sleep that night Willow took off her shoes and socks and danced in the rose petals that were still laying on the floor. Eventually she climbed into bed with a smile on her face. She felt like she was floating. Spike watched from outside her window as she danced in the rose petals. He knew what he had to tell her.

Willow slept most of the next day so she would be rested for her dinner with Spike. It was the first time in months that she actually had some decent sleep. Eventually she climbed out of the bed to get dressed. She slid the dress on her body. It felt like fire to ice. She walked out the door with no shoes-she loved to feel the grass and the dirt under feet. They had dinner in the park bathing in the moonlight. They had both been silent until now. Not sure of what to say.

"Spike, I.."

"No luv. I need to tell you why I gave you the book. You accepted the demon long ago. I needed you to accept the man."

She tried to take in everything he was telling her. There was so many things she wanted to tell him. Her thoughts were interrupted as he pulled a box out of his pocket.

Spike took a unneccesary breath and pulled out a square velvet blue box. He couldn't live his undead life without love. He couldn't live his life without her.

"Spike?" She said his name like she wanted to ask him ten million things at this very moment.

"Willow," he said as he opened the box. "I want you to be mine. Always."

He heard her gasp and her heart beat faster as he opened the box. Inside was a ring. A simple silver band. There were three words inscribed on the inside of the ring. She read the words ouloud as she read them. "Love is eternal." She allowed him to slide the ring over finger. She had never felt so complete before. She grabbed his face and brought him to her in a bruising kiss. When she came up for air she said the one word that she knew he would understand, the one word that would bring them together completely. "Mine." She had another suprise for him though.

As she whispered the word to him he felt relaxed. He felt complete. His Willow.

She was afraid to give him his gift. "Spike I also have something for you." She walked over to him and told him to close his eyes. She took a deep breathe, breathed in his scent and then bit his neck until she could taste his blood. After she was done he looked confused and suprised.

"Luv, you know you're not a vampire, right?"

"You didn't like it?" Willow started to get very nervous. She wasn't sure how he would take her gift.

"Actually it was bloody wonderful." He noticed how nervous she was getting. "Willow, what's wrong?"

She held out the box for him. He opened it slowly and stared at the item inside. "It's a piece of metal luv. I don't understand. Did you mean to give me metal?" And with that last question he realized what he was looking at. He looked up at her. "The chip?" She nodded her head yes slowly. "But how?"

"I asked Giles to help me with it. I extracted it with a spell. Giles didn't want to help me with the spell but he trusted my judgement. Why do you think everyone was so silent around you?"

He was shocked. No one had ever gone to such lengths for him. Not even Dru and they were together for a century. "Pet, I.."

"Shhh. Spike I love you. I claimed you. It's your turn."

He couldn't believe what she was asking. "Willow, I love you. You don't have to do this."

"Claim me as yours. Forever"

The End
