~Part: 1~

Willow walked into Giles's courtyard, gazing at the newly fallen snow.

It had been snowing for almost a week and it lay in a thick blanket covering everything.

Willow loved snow - and true it didn't happen often in Sunnydale - especially in the middle of summer vacation?

Walking into Giles's apartment - Willow was taken aback by the shouting - it seemed to be coming from all sides.

The only one not participating was Spike; he was sitting on the sofa looking bored.

His eyes snapped to hers and he grinned, "Hi pet - come on in and join the madness"

Giles's spotted her and bellowed at them all to shut up.

"ENOUGH! - SHE'S HERE NOW SO SHE CAN DECIDE FOR HER BLOODY SELF!"

Willow stood in shock "Er hi guys - What cha' doing?" she asked - completely flummoxed at the scene she had just witnessed.

Plopping down on the sofa next to Spike, she asked him quietly "What the hell's going on?" Spike shrugged his shoulder and told her "Ask the Watcher Pet?"

Leaning back, he lit his cigarette and enjoyed the show.

"Willow I need to ask you a favour" Giles's told her, his eyes full of fury.

"Okay-what's going Giles's? Why were you all shouting at each other?"

"Did you do this?" Buffy snapped, gesturing to the snow outside the window.

Willow frowned "You think I...." she spluttered.

"Wouldn't be the first time Will - remember me and Anya getting chased all over town by demons," Xander snapped.

Willow was at a loss.

"You really think I had something to do with this?" Willow shouted jumping to her feet.

<  Go RED! - look at that fire!  > Spike grinned, as the Redhead started pacing around the room.

"Come on Willow-if you've been playing with your magic tricks again I need to know?" Buffy fumed.

"I don't fancy kissing deadboy over there again," She snarled, shooting Spike a nasty look.

"Like I would luv? - took me weeks to get Slutty taste out of my mouth" he cried back.

"Now everyone calm down - you weren't the only ones to be effected by the spell-I went BLIND remember?-we need to talk about this calmly," Giles told them.

"What the hell is this all about Giles's?-I came over here because you wanted to talk to me, when I get here suddenly I'm attacked by my so called friends!" Willow raged.

"Well it seems that this odd weather is the result of a spell-I was wondering if you knew anything about it." Giles's asked softly.

"No I don't - I haven't done a spell in weeks-now if that was all. GOODNIGHT!" she cried.

Pulling open the door, she stalked into the night.

The gang sat there opened mouthed.

"Shit-I was sure she had something to do with it" Buffy frowned

"I don't believe you lot-you want her to do a spell to end this, a spell which could end up with her dead- yet before you even ask her about that you attack her. Great friends you are" Spike spat.

"Spike you know I need to find out the cause of this. If it were Willow it would be a lot easier to reverse, now it seems are worst fears are right. I'll go and talk to Willow"

Giles's told him, rising to leave.

"No you bloody won't, think you lot have all said enough to her tonight don't you? Hardly treated the chit fairly now did you?"

Getting up he walked out the door.

"He's right Buffy-We shouldn't have attacked like that-it wasn't fair," Giles's told her softly.

"We needed to know-I'll go talk to her. She'll be fine-she's Willow," She told him confident in her ability to get Willow back on side.

"I hope so because we need her" Giles's replied.

Willow was furious.

How dare they think those things of her?

Sure, she'd mucked up before - but she had her reasons then - big time legitimate hurt!

Oz had slept with another girl <  Bitch  >, who had then tried to EAT her <  super bitch  > and then he left!

<  Spineless bastard  >

So her spell got away from her for a while, no one got hurt.

So Giles's went a bit blind for a while, Xander was chased by a few demons.

<  Thought he'd enjoy that - always falls for them anyway: Inca Mummy Girl, Praying Mantis lady now Anya-or should that be ANYANKA, ex vengeance demon!-need I go on!  >

Willow kicked a can, hard, that was lying on the pavement. It skidded into some nearby bushes.

<  And poor Buffy-she had to snog the face off Spike for a few hours, I'm sure plenty of girls would have loved that. Me included! >

She fumed, anger creeping into every pore.

Just then, she heard footsteps behind her.

<  Great just what I need - a bloody vamp attack  >

Spinning around, she pulled a stake from her coat, and came face to face with a startled Spike.

"Oi watch what your doing with that pet!" he shouted jumping back.

Willow sighed and put the stake back in her pocket.

"What you doing here Spike?-cos if you've come to piss me off you really needn't have bothered" she told him wearily.

"Just wanted to see if you were okay is all pet - I'll go if you want?"

Spike stood looking at her, hurt by her reaction to his presence.

<  Stupid bint - worried about her walking home alone - turning into the poof  >

"No I'm sorry, I shouldn't take my bad mood out on you-I'm fine. Nice to know someone cares." she told him quietly.

"Want me to walk you home pet? - Bad types come out at night in this town"

He asked, watching as her eyes shone, he could see she was fighting to keep the tears back.

<  Bloody Scooby's - now they've gone and upset her  >

"You okay pet?" he asked softly, walking towards her.

Willow nodded, keeping her head down so he wouldn't see the tears in her eyes.

<  I shouldn't let them get to me. The only person who seems to give a damn about me right now is a chipped vampire - who will drain me first chance he gets  >

Spike cool hands touched her cheek; Willow raised shocked eyes to his.

<  I didn't hear him move?  >

"Your not okay are you?" he asked, wiping her tears away with his thumb.

Willow shook her head sadly, a sob escaping her treacherous throat.

<  Dammit, don't want to cry in front of Spike  >

"Shush pet-they're not worth one of your tears," he told her softly.

<  Damn them-upsetting her like this-think they can treat her like dirt then run to her when they need her help  >

He wound an arm around her shoulder; Willow looked up at him puzzled, but did not pull away.

"Gonna take you home pet - some vamp would just love to sink his fangs in that pretty throat of yours" he told her.

His voice low and husky as he licked his lips - imagining her soft skin pressed against his own.

Willows breath hitched as she saw his tongue slip out and slide over his soft lips.

"Oh" she whispered, walking with him slowly.

<  Bad thoughts Willow-Spike lips, no no mustn't think of that- mustn't think how he'd feel tasting me, kissing me-NO stop stop- Buffy said it was gross but she had that look in her eye when she said it-like really it had been anything but  >

They walked in silence for a while-upon reaching her house Willow turned to him and smiled shyly.

"Would you like to come in for a moment?-I think I have some hot chocolate if you'd like some" she asked softly.

<  Please come in Spike - I really don't want to alone just now  >

Spike nodded "Got any of those little marshmallow things too?" he asked hopefully.

Willow laughed, "I think so - come in Spike," she whispered.

Spike smiled and followed her across the threshold.

"Nice house pet - your parents ain't gonna be annoyed you brought me home are they?" he asked glancing around.

Willow shook her head and walked through to the kitchen, Spike on her heels as she told him.

"No-they go away a lot-so I'm mostly home alone"

Spike frowned "Shouldn't be on your own in Sunnyhell pet-you know the risks more than anyone pet"

"Yeah-but the vamp who likes to kidnap me is a reformed character now" she told him smiling as she saw the realisation dawn.

"That I am luv-so where's that hot chocolate you promised me"

Willow laughed and set about making two cups of hot chocolate, Spike helped - well he nibbled on marshmallows while he waited.

<  Could do better though-could nibble on her  >

"Here you go"

Willow told him, placing a steaming mug in front off him.

Spike breathed in the heady aroma - grinning as he raised the steaming cup to his lips.

"Careful! It's hot" and "OW-bloody hell" was shouted at the same time.

Willow shook her head in wonder "Dumb ass - you knew I'd just made it"

"Sodding thing bit back!" Spike moaned holding his injured lip - then he grinned suddenly, realising how foolish he must appear.

"So what do you think been causing this weird weather?" Willow asked.

"Chaos Demon would be my guess. Feed of the trouble they cause like to do things big. Cover an entire city with snow? I would think that would cause a boat load of chaos for them" he told her, blowing his cup gently.

"So what did Giles's say when you gave him your theory?"

"Buffy wouldn't let me speak-every time I tried to tell them she butts in. I managed to get Giles on his own and tell him how to vanquish a chaos demon, but it entails some big magic." he explained.

"Oh so that's the spell Giles is on about"

Spike nodded.

"Well I guess tomorrow we go to Giles's and find out how I can sort this out" She declared.

Spike smiled lamely, knowing how hard it would be for the witch to pull it off, wishing he could help but knowing there was nothing he could do-but wait and watch.

~Part: 2~

The next day Willow took a deep breath as  she entered Giles's apartment.

"Hi Willow" Buffy called from the couch, smiling as she saw her friend enter.

"Buffy" Willow returned, her voice as cold as the temperature outside.

"Willow, look about yesterday. I want to apologise for the way I treated you. It was unfair and uncalled for. Forgive me?"

"Look Buffy at the moment I don't really want to even see you. However, after talking to Spike last night I realise how important this spell is,"

"Spike?!, you'll talk to that demon but your own friend you won't forgive?"

Buffy frowned, anger radiating from her.

"Yes, In case you didn't notice but last night he was the only one who didn't attack me. I affected him just as much with that last spell as any one of you and he's let it go."

Willow shouted back.

"Yeah but all he had to do was kiss ME" Buffy whined.

"And I bet he enjoyed every second of that huh? Kissing his mortal enemy"

At that moment Giles, Xander, Anya, and Spike walked in.

Xander was complaining loudly.

"She can't do it Giles, it's too dangerous and who is going to look after her. You said yourself Buffy couldn't go."

Xander stopped when he saw Willow. His face flushed with shame as he looked at his best friend.

"Oh hi Will"

He mumbled he at least had the decency to look ashamed.

He knew it would do no good to talk while she THAT expression on her face, she gave him a small nod of understanding and sat down.

Anya walked straight over to Willow, Looking her in the eye she said with conviction.

"Hello Willow, I would like to apologise for yesterday" she exclaimed.

Willow frowned "But Anya you didn't do anything wrong. I'm not mad at you."

"I should have controlled my boyfriend better. He shouldn't have been mean to you. When we got home, he was angry - not with you, himself. It was very irritating and I told him he had no right to talk to you in such an unpleasant voice."

Willow smiled at the ex-demon, as she heard Spike chuckle behind her.

"Thank you Anya. I think you're a lot more human than some so called humans."

Anya beamed "Thank you Willow. You mean Buffy don't you?"

Spike burst out laughing at that.

"Can it bleach boy" Buffy hissed.

Willow looked over at Spike and grinned as she sat on the sofa, he kept chuckling even as he sat next to her.

"Ello' Pet" he said

"Hi Spike"

Willow was glad he was there; at least she felt she had someone there who wouldn't belittle her.

   @@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@    @@@@@    @@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@

Once everyone was seated Giles began to explain the reasons behind the inclement weather that had been plaguing Sunnydale.

Spike kept flicking glances in Willow's direction; he was more and more concerned about her safety as Giles's research in to the chaos demons brought to light things even he didn't know.

Willow could feel Spike looking at her, she wondered why? She could understand if he was worried for her but he wasn't - was he?

"So Willow now you've heard the background and the way the spell needs to be worked - would you consider doing it?"

Giles asked, finally sitting down and cleaning his glasses.

Willow frowned at the former Watcher "Why can't you do it Giles's - you`ve been practicing far longer than I have"

Giles flushed slightly "Thank you Willow but the fact is, even at your tender age you are much more powerful than I could or have ever been"

Willow gawped at him "Your kidding right?"

Smiling Giles shook his head.

"But Giles's she's only been casting for a few months" Buffy exclaimed.

Spike snorted "What's up Slayer? Wanna be the only Super Scooby?"

"No - look all I meant was I thought it took years to become a fully fledged witch?" The Slayer mumbled.

Giles shook his head and smiled warmly at Willow "Not when you have a natural talent"

Willow flushed "But Giles, my spells have been going wrong these last month or so?" she frowned.

"I believe that was because of your emotional state - not your power. You had a tough time after Oz left. In addition, I fear that as your friends we did not see the pain you were going through. I'm sorry," he told her.

Willow nodded "Thank you Giles for the vote of confidence but I'm not sure?"

"Why don't you try something now?" Spike asked

Willow bit her lip - it was all Spike could do not to groan aloud at the action.

Giles agreed "Just something small - maybe glamour?" he queried.

Willow concentrated for a moment, closing her eyes she breathed deeply - the room was silent, all eyes on the young witch.

When all of a sudden before their startled eyes her once beautiful red hair turned a flaxen blonde!

"Wow!" Xander cried.

Spike grinned "Dunno if I like that pet? Can't call you Red now can I?"

He reached out a finger and hesitantly touched a blonde tress.

"Well that would sure save me money at the beauty parlour" Buffy told her friend, relived when she saw her friend return her smile.

"Very good Willow - do you think you could try something else? - something bigger?" Giles asked, pleased to see that Willow seemed to have regained her focus.

"Um like what?" Willow asked, shaking her head so the glamour faded and her own red hair appeared.

"How about something that will affect one of us. Your choice of course."

Anya jumped up "Give me red hair!" she cried.

"I was thinking of something a little more difficult," Giles explained. Smiling at the ex-demon's  enthusiasm.

"Oh I know" Willow cried

Digging through her bag, she found her mirror.

"Spike do you mind if I try this on you?" she asked softly.

Spike raised surprised eyes to hers "Try what love? -cos I really don't fancy being turned in to a frog"

"Eww - no, no frogs. I don't really want to say - okay. Just trust me that it won't hurt and I won't turn you into anything oosshhy"

Spike nodded "K' pet" ,Smiling at her choice of words.

Willow handed him the mirror - Spike quirked an eyebrow at her.

"Er pet - vampire remember?" he told her looking into the glass and seeing nothing.

"Just close your eyes and place the mirror on your palm face up"

Spike did as he was told.

He felt Willow place her hand over his and the mirror.

Willow chanted softly, feeling the power building in her stomach.

Pushing the energy along her arm and into her hand.

Spike jumped slightly as he felt the tingle of power surge into his hand, he could almost hear the buzz of energy in the air.

Willow slowly opened her eyes.

Looking at Spike intently; he looked like he had been carved from marble - he was so still.

He still had his eyes shut, his dark lashes lying against his pale cheeks.

The room was silent, as the Scooby's held their collective breaths.

"Spike" Willow whispered.

Spike's eyes opened slowly, trapping her in their azure depths.

"Look" she told him, indicating to the mirror.

Spike frowned but glanced down anyway.

What he saw had his eyes growing wide.

"Is that me?" he whispered, his voice reaching Willow's ears only.

Willow nodded; she knew what he could see.

For the first time in 120 years, Spike could see his reflection!

Spike kept gazing in the mirror, he had forgotten how blue his eyes were, how sharp and angular his cheekbones appeared - seemingly sharp lines that slashed his face.

He raised shining eyes to hers "Thank you" he whispered, placing a soft kiss on her lips. Not caring of the gasps, he heard around them.

"Your welcome" She replied, her lips tingling from the brief contact.

"Willow?" Giles asked softly.

Willow turned to him; she had forgotten anyone else was in the room.

"What did you do?" he asked, wondering what had prompted Spike's tear-filled glance and chaste kiss.

< Chaste? Spike? >

Smiling Willow told him "I gave him back his reflection"

"What? - Willow that is amazingly advanced .How long will it last?" he asked, wonder in his voice.

Spike turned to her, keen to know too.

"Always, but only in that mirror."

"I knew you had a lot of power Willow, you just need to practice it more. Harness it. Now I suspect you're tired, would you like me to take you home? Buffy, Xander and Anya can patrol."

"I'll walk her home" Spike spoke up suddenly.

All eyes turned to him, Buffy spoke up first.

"I really don't think." but was cut off but Spike; "Tell us something we don't know"

"Thank you Spike, it`s nice of you to offer." Willow told him, picking up her bag she turned to the others.

"How long do I have to get in magic-shape as it were?, how long do I have before I have to cast the chaos demon out?"

"About 2 or 3 weeks, I don't think the towns resources can hold after that." Giles told her, smiling as he saw the fire in her eyes.

"Then I guess I better get practicing then. Night all" she told them, letting Spike pull her gently out the door.

"Should we really let him walk her home Giles? He is still a demon remember" Buffy sulked.

"Are you blind Buffy? He is infatuated with her"

"What because she gave him his reflection?" Buffy frowned, hating the fact that Willow was now centre of attention - she may be her best friend  but that didn't mean she had to like it.

"No, long before that, I thought something was off about him Giles? He's been around a lot more, helping with research. Also the way he stood up for her last night. Do you think Willow knows he loves her Giles?" Xander asked smiling.

Happy that his friend seemed to have found someone who would worship her, as she deserved. Spike maybe an annoying, sarcastic, and okay sometimes a homicidal maniac but no one could say he wasn't fiercely loyal to those he loved.

Just look at his love for Dru?

That had lasted centuries and the only reason they had broken up was that she had gone after Angelus!

Giles smiled at Xander, glad to see the young man was taking this new development in his stride.

"I don't think she has any idea about what's to come. If what I've read about Mr William `the bloody', she's in for a few surprises."

  @@@@@      @@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@ @@@@@

Willow and Spike had been walking in silence since they left the Watcher's apartment building.

Spike had her mirror in his pocket, his fingers brushing over the smooth surface, hating the moment when he would have to return it to Willow.

His brain was working overtime - trying to figure out why Willow had done that spell for him, how she had known that was his one secret desire - to see his own face again.

"Why'd you do that pet?" he blurted.

Willow looked up at him, "I wanted to thank you for yesterday, I wasn't even sure I could do it. Oh, was it okay I mean I didn't offend you at all? Because back at Giles is you seemed happy but maybe you were just in shock? I should have asked. I'm really sorr."

Spike's soft lips capturing her own cut off Willow's diatribe.

Willow gasped, giving Spike the chance to deepen the kiss, his tongue stroking hers - Willow could feel her knees turning to jelly.

Spike slid his arms around her holding her close, he could feel her power in her kisses - little sparks seem to be zapping through his brain- causing not unpleasant shocks through his central nervous system.

He felt Willows arms go haltingly around his neck.

Her fingers twinning themselves in the soft hair at his nape, her short fingers holding him to her.

Spike raised his head and looked down into confused, lust filled eyes.

He knew that if he looked into the mirror he would see the same lust in is own.

"OH" Willow gasped, not sure what has brought about Spike's onslaught ; and really not caring.

<  He's obviously grateful for what I did - why else would he kiss me like that?  >

"I think that about covers it Pet" he grinned, taking her hand in his they set off again to her house.

They were silent the rest  the rest of the way, both lost in their own thoughts. Fingers woven together so neither could tell where one started and the other stopped.

Walking slowly up to her front door, Spike got ready to give her back the mirror.

"Would you like to come in?" She asked quietly.

Spike nodded, not sure how to bring up the mirror; or for that matter the kiss they has shared earlier . Willow walked into the kitchen and turned "Hot chocolate?"

"You know the way to my heart red" he laughed.

Willow blushed and set about making the drinks.

She didn't notice Spike walk up behind, His boots making no noise on the soft floor.

Feeling his hand on her hair she froze "Spike?"

"Don't ever change this pet? I didn't like you as a blonde, You didn't have any fire" he whispered softly in her ear.

Willow shuddered at the huskiness of his tone and her head fell back on to his chest, "You like my hair?" she asked, her voice low.

"Uh huh, looks like liquid fire" he told her, running his fingers it gently "So soft, like your skin" he whispered kissing her cheek; "Your eyes" he moaned turning her to face him.

Willow gazed up at him, her eyes glazed with emotion. Spike leant down and traced an eyebrow with a cool fingertip.

Her eyes fluttered closed.

"But not as soft as your lips. Can I kiss you Willow?" he whispered.

Willow nodded, her movements sluggish, leaning down Spike caught her bottom lip between his own and sucked gently.

Willow wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer.

Spike's hands settled on her waist, lifting her easily he sat her on the countertop.

Willow moaned as she felt him stand between her legs, his hands resting gently on her denim clad thighs.

"Spike?" she moaned as her nibbled on her neck, his tongue sweeping along her jaw.

Willow forced her eyes open and stared in to his. He smiled at her and lowered his head to her lips again, his hands sliding under her shirt.

Willow groaned low in her throat as she felt his cool skin against her own, his hands moving slowly until they cupped her satin and lace covered breasts.

Spike's fingers danced lazily up her torso, tormenting her flesh with his.

Her skin was like fire, as his hands brushed the undersides of her breasts he bit back a moan, his demon screaming at him to hurry and claim her - but his mind telling him to take things slow.

< Slow be damned, if I don't taste her soon I'll combust > his addled brain told him.

Easing her shirt from her shoulders, his lips never breaking contact with hers, sliding the garment down her arms and away - he suddenly pulled back, needing to see her.

Willow's mind swam, she almost cried out when his mouth left hers, her brain informing slowly of her partially clad state.

Her eyes flashed open, glancing down she saw her shirt laying in a crumpled heap on the counter next to her, her body dressed in only a bra on open display.

Moving quickly to cover herself, but before her arms could move Spike's hands had caught her gently around the wrists.

"Don't Pet, please. You are so beautiful." he whispered placing feather soft kisses along her collar bone.

Willow shook her head "No, I'm not" she whispered, horrified at the thought of him finding her less than desirable.

Spike raised his head and stared at her , his eyes never leaving hers he slowly slid the straps of  her bra down her arms, pulling the material away until she was fully exposed .

"Spike!" she cried, as she felt his tongue touch her swollen tip, sensations flooding her body.

Willow didn't know whether to push him away or let him devour her alive - she opted for the latter.

Clutching his head she could do no more than hold on as he feasted on her flesh, each sweep of his tongue or nip of his teeth enticing more moans and cries from her, he could smell her arousal and knew she was on the brink.

Quickly undoing her jeans he slid two fingers in, her head snapped back as she felt his fingers slide across her core - his fingers moving rapidly, He felt her tug his mouth back to hers as she came on a cry he swallowed  down.

Wanting to  take the sound into his very soul.

Pulling from her, he kissed  her softly as  her breathing returned to normal, by the time she had opened her eyes he had her fully dressed, all but her bra which was stuffed in his pocket.

His body was hard and rearing go but he knew that he would have to wait, his little witch was exhausted, not just from their exertion but also her spells earlier.

Picking her up gently, Willow snuggled contentedly in his arms as he carried her to her room.

"Spike?" she asked softly, green eyes heavy with passion.

"You need your sleep pet, I'll see you tomorrow k'?" he told her, lying her on the bed.

As his hand went in to his pocket he felt her mirror, taking one last look at his face he whispered.

"Where will I put this pet?"

Willow frowned "Put what?" she mumbled

"Your mirror" he told her, brushing her hair from her forehead.

Willow frowned and sat up, looking at him in the half light.

"I thought you understood - that's yours. Forever." smiling as she saw the comprehension dawn on his face.

"Mine? Always?" he whispered sitting next to her on the bed.

Willow nodded "I made it for you" she told his shyly, suddenly remembering what had happened downstairs not 10 minutes  before.

"Why .?" she murmed, blushing as he grinned.

"Your tired, and the magic took a lot out of you. I promise you Red when we make love - your gonna need every bit of strength you can muster"

"Oh" she giggled, sighing as he gave her a final kiss goodnight ,before he left through the French doors.

Suddenly she sat bolt upright and said aloud "When we make love!"

Lying down she could have sworn she heard a chuckle coming from outside the window, along with the scent of cigarette smoke.

<  Sleep tight pet - I'll be seeing you soon  >

~Part: 3~ Willow

Willow awoke early the next morning, her mind a little fuzzy about why she was in bed fully clothed.

<  SHIT  >

She remembered.

Spike - hands of Spike - kitchen - hands in naughty places. Okay, in NICE naughty places.

<   I'm going to be seeing him in a few hours . How the hell am I supposed to react around him?, Kiss him `Hello'? Leer suggestively in his general direction? Pretend nothing happened ? On the other hand, maybe I'll just jump his hard, tight little body as soon as I clap eyes on him!  >

Willow flopped back on the bed, a small moan of frustration escaping her lips.

<   Maybe he'll act as if nothing happened - it's not like we had the full - er -well it's not like HE had got a happy  >

Willow felt a small smile tug at her lips as the memory of her own happy surfaced, thinking back to the previous evening.

When he had first kissed her she had been surprised, but what had happened in the kitchen had almost knocked her socks off.

<  Didn't lose your socks though did you?, lost your shirt instead, and my bra. That's a point - where the hell is that?  >

When Spike had crept up behind her in the kitchen, she thought she was going to melt - she hadn't realised just how sexy that accent of his was, but once he was whispering in her ear her insides all but turned to mush.

Willow frowned, a crease forming on her forehead as she nibbled on her lip, her face a picture of pure concentration.

< Why didn't he have a happy? Maybe he did, later - but he didn't want to have one with ME!, Maybe after what happened in the kitchen he didn't want to, that's it! I must have repulsed him.  >

Willow covered her face with her hands, embarrassment and humiliation waging a battle in her stomach.

Stumbling from the bed she wandered into the bathroom - praying to whichever god took care of horny fools.

<  What the hell am I going to say to him,  why didn't I have the strength to resist him? >

She moaned again, leaning her head against the cool tile of the shower stall.

Suddenly her eyes snapped open, her head jerked up - she remembered.

<  Strength, That's what Spike said - I'd need my strength WHEN we made love - not shag or screw or any of those other gross names he usually used. Oh goddess! When? >

Stepping under the spray of the shower, as the warm water flowed over her skin, her mind was racing at a mile a minute - trying to pinpoint the moment when things changed between them both.

She knew that she'd always liked Spike, Even when he was evil he was always kinda fun to have around.

You never knew what his warped brain would think up next.

Willow understood that the only reason he was with them now was because of the chip - but that didn't mean he couldn't leave, go to another town.

Hell, he could always go stay with Angel in L.A, It wasn't like he hadn't been offered the chance of a job, place to stay, random violence and all the cows blood he could handle.

Spike had turned it down flat - telling Angel that he WANTED to stay in Sunnydale.

<  What keeps him here?  >

Climbing from the shower she grabbed a towel, wrapping herself in the fluffiness she padded through to her room, her mind still fixed on the blonde vamp - he had somehow become a friend, at least he wasn't trying to kill them any more.

Willow smiled remembering the first time she had seen him.

He had lured Buffy outside out at the Bronze, he had watched her fight and stake a vamp, then calmly informed her he was going kill her.

 [  "What happens Saturday?"   ]

[   "I kill you"   ]

He had been so cool, cold and calculating - standing there in his black jeans, black T, red shirt and  of course his ever present leather duster.

<  WOW  >

He would have killed Buffy too, on parent teacher night,  if  Mrs Summers hadn't hit him with an axe.

It was odd to think that he and Joyce were buddies now too - Spike would often go round to Buffy's house to watch `Passions', Giles didn't mind as long as he didn't have to have the  `mind numbing rubbish' on in his apartment.

In truth, Spike didn't have to watch TV at his place anymore, little over a month ago, Spike had found his own place.

Which made it even odder, he was there just as much, it seemed as before.

<  He has his own place now, gets paid in blood and cigarettes, why does he continue to hang out on research night? It's not like he does much more than annoy everyone, well everyone except me  >

Willow mused, opening her wardrobe pulling out jeans and a jade green jumper, thinking back to the scene she had witnessed a couple of weeks earlier.

She has been asked by Giles's if she would pick up a book for him from the `Magic Shop'.

The shop had had many owners - one of whom Spike had murdered and another whose life had been taken by Dru.

It was now owned by Mr Bogety - a nice old guy, who Willow hoped would be able to do what the previous owners hadn't.

Retire to Florida and live out his days watching fat grandchildren playing on the beach.

As Willow entered Giles's apartment complex she could hear raised voices - raised British voices.

Smiling slightly she shook her head.

<  They're  at it again, wonder what Spike's done this time?  >

Pushing open the front door, she spotted Spike and Giles almost nose to nose, shouting at each other.

The English insults making her grin, she understood most of them but they still made her grin, the two accents - so different and yet so similar hurling abuse in their native tongue.

<  That's  why they do it I bet  >

"Why the bloody hell are you here Spike?, I thought once you'd got your own flat I'd have a bit of peace and quiet for a Sodding change!" Giles shouted.

Spike shrugged his shoulder's "Me telly's on the blink init? - Wanna watch `Passions' and Joyce is out. Do you really think I'd spend more time here than I poxy well have to?"

"I'll tape it, just piss off - I want some peace and Willow will be here soon - There's research to do!"

"Bollocks - watching telly, now go make me a cup a' char, cheers mate" Spike told him flopping down on to the sofa, remote control in one hand cigarette in the other.

Willow couldn't help it, she burst out laughing.

Giles whipped round, rolling his eyes he sighed "This time I know I locked the bloody door" ,stomping off into the kitchen to put the kettle on.

Spike's head popped up over the back of the sofa "Hi ya pet, what's so bleeding funny?" He grinned.

"You two, you just love arguing don't you" She chuckled.

Spike looked towards the kitchen, making sure Giles's had his back turned. Seeing that he had he nodded quickly, then pressed a finger to his lips - their secret.

Willow nodded, and was rewarded with a wink.

Coming back to the present, she smiled at the memory - then suddenly sat up straight, realising why Spike still hung out with them all.

<  He's lonely!  >

Willow knew she was right, Spike couldn't hang out with demons anymore - he wasn't one of them and since he'd been helping the Slayer, he now wasn't trusted.

Also he couldn't hang out with `normal people', as Angel had once said .

[   "I may walk like a man, but I'm not one."  ]

Willow finished getting ready, running the brush through her hair, she hoped  Spike would be there that night  - they needed to talk, and soon.

Willow needed to know if Spike felt anything for her. She couldn't be with him if the only reason he was there was because he was lonely.

Willow also had to figure out her own feelings, she had always liked Spike, but why now did she LIKE LIKE Spike?

Pulling on her boots she set off for Giles's place, Knowing that Spike wouldn't be there yet - maybe she should stop by his new apartment?, have the first meeting away from prying eyes - not to mention a certain Slayers Mr Pointy.

~Part: 4~ Spike

Spike lay on his bed, one arm propped behind his head, staring unseeingly at the ceiling as he smoked a cigarette.

Turning his head slightly, he could see through the chink in the curtain that it was daylight .

He had known that without looking - he'd smelt the sunrise hours ago .

He hadn't slept - Yes he knew that vampires sleeping through the darkness hours was unusual, but lately he'd been trying to keep human time - seeing as they were the only 'things' he interacted with these days.

<  Damn chip, can't even be around my own kind anymore. They know I help the slayer, don't trust me. Not that I blame them, but I needed her help to begin with, needed someone to feed and protect me - CHRIST I sound like a bloody baby. I guess in a way that's what those Sodding initiative boys turned me in to.  >

Now though he had his own flat <  Sorry American now - apartment.  > It was nice, small but his.

He liked having somewhere to escape to, his own T.V, fridge, couch to lay on and a big bed to play in.

<  Not that he'd had any 'playtime' since Dru had left him  >.

That bed was as sure as hell a lot more comfortable than Giles's bath tub though.

So now Spike had his own place, there were tunnels in the basement he could use to get just about anywhere in Sunnydale.

Running a hand through his short blonde hair, the curls appearing without his much applied hair gel.

<   Damn curls - how scary are they?, that is unless your Ronald McDonald - I'd swear that guy was a Piordal demon, better known as the child eater. Guess that's why he's always trying to stuff burgers down those kids throats on T.V - he's fattening them up.  >

Spike shifted a little, he was tired and horny - Okay mostly horny.

Glancing over at the bedside table, he saw it.

The one thing that had kept him sane last night, the one thing that had stopped him running back to Willow.

The mirror.

<   That's the first gift I've received in over a century   >

Picking it up, he turned it over on it's back - he'd noticed the design  hours ago.

The mirror was small, palm size. With an engraving on it's silver back.

A Willow tree.

Running his blunt fingertips over the raised design, his fingers pausing over the inscription written under the image.

"To my dearest love" He whispered.

He grinned, feeling slightly foolish. He knew the words weren't for him but it still made him smile, that maybe one day it could be.

<   A vamp can dream can't he?   >

Thinking of Willow he felt his body start to harden.

<   Been like this nearly all night, Jesus when did I become so bloody chivalrous - should have just thrown her down and taken her!   >

Spike reached under his pillow and pulled out her bra, it was nothing more than a scrap of  emerald  satin, with lace edging .

He held it to his nose, her scent assaulted his senses as a deep growl rumbled through his chest.

Remembering her shy eyes as he'd looked at her, he knew was scared - thought she wasn't pretty enough or sexy enough for his blatant perusal.

<   Damn, if she was any sexier I'd be a dead man right now - okay I am but, God, she has a sexy little body. All soft curves and smooth lines.   >

He could almost taste her pale, soft , skin on his lips.

Biting back a moan he remembered the silky feel of her hair as he'd ran his fingers through it.

Her tongue shy and inquisitive in his mouth, growing bolder with each passing moment.

He had never meant things to have gone so far but as soon as she'd touched him, her hesitating fingers running through the hair at his nape - he knew he had to taste her fire.

Spike groaned, stubbed out his cigarette, and threw his arm over his eyes, trying in vain to block the memories flooding him.

The taste of her breast in his mouth, the feel of her hungry body closing tight around his questing fingers.

Her cry's of pleasure her release had brought her, the sound still reverberated in his mind, the memories coming thick and fast, her lips unleashing her energy into him as she came, his brain had almost sizzled at the power she contained.

When Spike had left, he's been hardly able to walk - his erection pressing against his already too tight jeans.

By the time he had made it home his demon was straining to come out and play.

As soon as he had closed his front door his face had slipped, revealing ridges on his brow - his once crystal blue eyes now a fiery gold.

Pulling the clothes from his body - his hand had sought out his swollen member.

Sliding his hand in long firm strokes, he imagined Willow.

Willow's small hands on his body, touching him, teasing him, tormenting him until he came with a shout of release.

Cleaning himself up he stumbled to the bathroom, turning the shower to cold - he stepped under the icy torrent.

The first of many cold showers that night.

Turning over in the bed, he looked again at the mirror.

He chuckled as he remembered the fascination his own face had held for him, when he'd seen himself change for the first time - it had been a little startling to say the least.

He really did look like a demon, he'd seen the drawings Angelus had done of course but for all his talent he hadn't captured the true demonic feel of it.

<   But a cute demon of course!  >

As he lay there considering everything that had happened in the last 24 hours, his mind whirling over the chain of events that had brought him to this point.

Giles had asked him to go over to his place last night, he'd wanted to make sure Willow was okay - she'd been upset the night before and he didn't want it happening again.

When he got there though he could tell Willow was angry, and not prepared to just forgive and forget this time.

He could feel an argument brewing between Buffy and his Red.

<   His Red? - sound good though doesn't it?   >

He'd tried to cheer her up, insulted Slutty and the like but Giles was determined that they fully understood what they - or more importantly SHE would be battling.

Giles's information had worried him, he'd known that Chaos demons were dangerous - but not how dangerous.

<   God Dru what were you thinking?, getting mixed up with one of these! And there I was thinking, I could take him. He'd have ripped me apart and had me for breakfast.   >

He knew Willow could cast powerful spells with no outside force being needed, but she was still inexperienced in the field - as it were.

She needed this time to practice, hone her natural talent without any outside elements clouding her judgement.

He wanted her so much, needed her. This thing between them would have to wait, she had more important things on her mind.

Although Spike was unsure just where they stood.

<   Just cos she was all hot and bothered for me last night, doesn't mean she cares does it? Not like I do. Doesn't mean she wants YOU does it mate?   >

Spike was well aware of just how arousing magic could be. Maybe he had just been a convenient body to jump?

<   Okay, so I was the one doing the jumping - but still, doesn't mean she has any real feelings. She might just have been horny - it's been awhile since `dogboy' ran out on her - haven't seen her with anyone new, can't have had any for a while though   >

Although Willow didn't strike him as `that' type of girl, she wouldn't use someone just to get her jolly's - would she?

Willow was his one and only reason for staying in Sunnyhell.

Peaches had offered him the chance of a job in L.A, and all the trappings that came with it. Flat, car, money, violence on a daily basis and blood ,as much as he could stand.

<   Okay so it was only Cow's blood, but still - chipped vampires can't be choosers!   >

He couldn't leave though, not yet, not if there was the smallest hope she would see him as something other than a demon. Not until he knew where he stood.

Spike sighed ,old habit, and sat on the edge of the bed. He needed to get up and get dressed.

He was going to take the tunnels to Giles's place, wanted to see Red - no - he meant see if Red needed any help!.

<  Honest!   >

<  Right mate believe you thousands wouldn't  >

She might want his help with the new spells she was learning.

Climbing from the bed, he stood, standing naked - stretching his arms high over his head , feeling the bones in his body shift and awaken.

Going through to the bathroom he jumped into the shower, this time though it was hot - the steam filling the small room in seconds.

After scrubbing himself and washing his hair, Spike knotted a towel loosely around his lean hips and went in search of breakfast.

Rummaging around in the kitchen for a clean mug, he popped his mug- o-blood in the microwave and started his search for the ever elusive Weetabix.

<   I know I bought a new box of Weetabix - Where the bloody hell I put them? Oh here they are, poxy box couldn't get much more yellow mate and you can't see it? - your slipping!   >

Settling back on the sofa with a mug of blood and his Weetabix, he turned on the T.V -news of death and destruction always cheered him up.

Twenty minuets later his doorbell rang.

<   Better not be that bloody stupid bint from down the hall, she can sort her own bleeding stopped up sink out this time, not like I'm a nice guy or anything - silly cow should stop putting coffee grounds down it   >

He thought evilly, wandering across to the door, flinging it open  - with the full intention of shouting at her - instead his eyes went wide at the person standing on the other side.

~Part: 5~

"What the hell you doing here?"  Spike shouted.

Xander just rolled his eyes, " And good morning to you too Blondie" he grinned

"What's happened?, is it Red? She okay?" Spike asked, concern clouding his features.

"A-HA! I was right!" Xander laughed, then squeaked as Spike grabbed him by the collar and dragged him inside the flat.

"Talk - cos you're really pissing me off just now" Spike growled .

"Willow's fine, I just meant - look could you put me down  - thank you. I want to ask you a serious Question"

Spike quirked an eyebrow at him, "You, serious? - never thought I'd see the day mate"

"I can be deadly serious when it comes to my friends Spike, I just want to know that you'll keep Willow safe?, Giles's said that you would be the one going with her when she takes this thing on - I just want to know she'll be okay" Xander told him,

He knew his eyes had grown misty - but he really didn't care. His best friends life would be on the line and he needed some assurance that she'd come out of it okay.

Spike looked at the young man before him.

<   Little more than a boy really. Loves Willow though, see it in those puppy dog eyes of his.   >

He nodded "I'll keep her safe Whelp, won't let no beasties touch my red"

Xander frowned "YOUR RED?" he asked, his voice not so much shouting ,more like hitching up a couple of levels.

Spike looked startled "No - didn't mean that., I just meant ., stop laughing dammit or I'll test just how far this chip will let me go" he snarled.

Xander clutched his stomach, almost doubled over with laughter " I never thought I'd see it!!!, you really like her don't you Spike?, I could tell you did, Giles's even noticed so there's no reason to deny it. Does she feel the same?"

Spike just stared "You and the Watcher know I fancy Red? And I'm not a pile of dust - why?"

"Up to Willow who she likes, not us. Plus we get the feeling you'd die for her, so as long as you don't break her heart like Oz did - I'm fine with you two." Xander explained.

"Don't know is there is an `us two' yet, don't wanna rush her" Spike told him softly.

Xander nodded "Probably wise, Willow's a special person though Spike - if she likes you she won't play games, she'll let you know. Well even though this is a nice change, I mean me not shouting at you - you not being sarcastic, I have to over to Giles and help out -  I'll see you there?"

Spike nodded, walking him back to the door "Bye"

"See ya Blondie" Xander laughed as he left.

A couple of seconds later the doorbell rang again, sighing Spike opened the door.

"Just wondered though, you won't do anything evil to Willow if you get that chip out will you?" Xander asked,, worry in his brown eyes.

"Course I won't you prat!" Spike shouted, slamming the door in his shocked face.

<   How the hell could he think that! Oh well I guess I can see how, but still I'd never hurt Red   >

The doorbell rang again   <   ARRRGGHH!   >

"PISS OFF!" he screamed, flinging open the door.

Willow's eyes went huge "Oh, oh sorry" she mumbled, turning to leave.

<   SHIT!   >

"Shit, no, Red sorry" he cried, grabbing her arm and hauling her inside.

"I take it I came at a bad time?" she asked quietly, shocked at how angry he'd looked opening the door.

Spike shook his head "Sorry, I thought you were someone else, a very annoying someone else" he finished smiling slightly.

"Good, cos I'd hate to think you were angry at me for any reason," she told him softly, her voice low.

Spike knew exactly what she was talking about, grinning he shook his head.

"Could never be angry at you pet," he told her, his voice husky.

Willow's eyes flicked up to his, on the way down though they slowed down considerably.

<   Oh my - he's nearly naked!   >

Spike saw her blush, it took him a moment to register why - then he realised, he was standing in front of her dressed only in a towel, a towel that at any moment was going to slip off.

Willow's eyes slid back to his chest, Spike could almost feel her caress as her eyes swept his torso, her small pink tongue slipped out to moisten suddenly dry lips.

Spike bit back a curse and hauled her against him, her hands splayed across his back ,scraping her nails gently down until she came to the towel.

< I know! I promised I'd give her time - but damn does look she cute, all sweet smelling and sexy   >

She moaned in annoyance at the piece of cloth stopping her explorations, as she went to tug it away she felt Spike's hand grip her wrist lightly.

She pulled back, gazing up at him - he shook his head "if you do that Pet your gonna asking for a whole boat load of trouble" he whispered.

Willow smiled slyly and with a flick of one finger, the towel sailed across the room, the `CRACK' of power sounding like a gunshot in the quiet room.

Spike gaped at her "You used MAGIC!, hey that's not fair!" he cried, he really did try to look indignant - but standing there bare arsed naked- he didn't quite pull it off.

Willow giggled, "I'm meant to be practising aren't I?" She laughed, Spike scowled.

"Not on me" , Willow paused  - he didn't look happy  <   You Fool! > " Oh, I'm sorry, I'll go.." she whispered backing away from him, Spike shook his head "Not going anywhere" he grinned.

Willow's eyes widened as  understanding dawned, she slapped his arm "I thought you were going to make me leave! That was an evil trick Spike," She moaned, kissing along his neck - he seemed to like that - it sure made his hands busy.

Pulling her sweater over her head, he looked down at her "All's fair in love and war pet" he joked.

Willow went still for a moment, then looked up at him "Is that what this is Spike - Love?" she asked, Spike studied her eyes a moment before answering honestly.

"To tell you the truth pet - I'm not sure. I know I care about you a lot, and think you are one of the sexiest women I have ever had the good fortune to meet, but love? Why don't we give it some time." He told her.

Willow nodded "Good idea - but Spike, does that mean you don't want anymore of this?" she whispered, pushing her hips in to his, her stomach felt him, his body hard for her.

Spike growled, "I don't think I could stand it if I walked away from you again," he whispered, nibbling on her neck.

Willow pulled back to look at him and gave him a mega-watt smile "Thank god for that" she cried, pulling his lips down to her, her hands roamed freely over his body.

She pinched his bum lightly and he squeaked in shock !

<   I made him SQUEAK   >

Willow thought, Spike pulled back and saw her grin "Minx" he whispered, Willow laughed, "You have no idea PET"

Giggling madly when he swept her into his arms "Spike!", she cried.

"Bedroom - gotta get to the bedroom," he told her between kisses.

@@@@@     @@@@@@     @@@@@      @@@@@@      @@@@@@     @@@@@@

Falling on to the bed, in a tangle of arms and legs, Spike pulled Willows trousers from her legs in record time.

Willow laughed, "I hope you don't do everything so quick?" she grinned.

"Never pet - gonna take our time" he whispered, touching her deeply.

Willow moaned and arched her back, sensations dancing up her spine. Spike knew he couldn't wait any longer, he had to have her.

Positioning himself over her, he looked into her eyes, she nodded and moaned as he pushed deep inside.

Spike thought his brain was going to melt, Willow was bucking beneath him, her body slick against his own, leaning down his mouth crushed against hers.

Willow arched her back, hearing Spike whisper her name she looked up in to golden eyes - she stilled for a second then smiled.

"Oh Spike please " she begged, crying out as she felt his hand slip between their bodies, taking them both over the edge.

Spike lay against her for a moment, then rolled onto his side, Willow snuggled  in his arms.

"Sorry" he whispered into her hair.

Willow sat up straight clutching the sheet to her chest - her mind reeling "I thought you wanted this, wanted me" she asked him, confusion on her face.

Spike drew her back into his arms " Shush pet ,not this, never this. I mean when I changed - I tried not to" he whispered against her lips.

Willow gave a huge sigh of relief, "Stupid damn vampire - I thought -  well you know what I thought. I don't care about that - it's a part of you, it didn't scare me - kinda sexy actually." She told him.

Blushing at his slightly shocked expression.

Raising his eyebrows he asked "Sexy huh?"

Willow nodded, "You look all - tough and primal, quite a turn on"

Spike kissed her, she never failed to amaze him - only Willow would consider his demon as sexy.

"I'll have to remember that pet"

Willow nodded "You better" she told him, pulling down for a deep and lingering kiss.

Pulling away slightly she frowned .

"What's up pet?"

"Damn - I've gotta go to Giles's, Magic training" she pouted.

Spike smiled " Want some company?"

Willow nodded then flicked her fingers again, causing the sheet that was draped over them to fly across the room.

"HEY!" Spike cried, sitting up indignantly.

Willow hopped out of the bed and started getting dressed "Come on you lazy vamp - times a wasting" she cried, running in to the other room in search of her sweater

Spike shook his head " Bloody witches" he chuckled, getting dressed.

Ten minuets later Spike stood by the door - waiting for her.

"Come on pet" he called

"Okay - just brushing my hair!" she shouted back from the bedroom, spying the mirror she picked it up and turned it to look at her reflection - she was sure hair was sticking up at right angles. During their lovemaking, Spike's hands had raked through it over and over again.

< Not that I minded, every moment was wonderful   >

Glancing in the mirror - her mouth opened in shock - she didn't see herself, she saw Spike, he was standing by the front door tapping his foot impatiently.

<   It shows ONLY SPIKE, wherever he is whatever he's doing, I think I messed the spell up a bit   >

She saw the mirror Spike open his mouth to shout, from the lounge she heard Spike bellow "If I come in there pet we won't be leaving for hours!"

The mirror Spike shouted a fraction of a second after the first had finished "I love you Red, but I'm scared of telling you because I'm afraid you'll leave me, just like everyone else in my life has"

Willow dropped the mirror back on to the table gently, springing from the bed, she ran from the bedroom and launched her self at Spike.

He caught her in his arm, a bemused grin on his face until she spoke.

"I love you too!" she cried, pulling his face to hers for a gentle, mind-blowing kiss.

"Pet?" he croaked, he could believe she'd said it.

"Your mirror told me, the spell went a bit wonky, it only shows you -  wherever you are, and whatever you say is the truth - want your heart wants to say not your mind"

"My mirror? I only thought about telling you I love you but the mirror said it?" frowning.

"Yup, I do love you, you know that right. I'll never leave you," she whispered.

Spike nodded, his face breaking into a huge grin.

"Better go see the watcher huh? - let him know how much I love his witch" he laughed at her expression.

"I'll explain on the way, I don't think they'll freak as much you think they will."

~Part: 6~

As Willow and Spike left his apartment, Willow instinctively turned right towards the main entrance.

"Pet, if we go that way your gonna be dating Mr pile o' dust" Spike told her smiling.

"Oh - right - So we're officially dating? I like that" she grinned grabbing his hand as he led her towards the basement door.

"We are most definitely dating, not gonna break my heart are you pet? Couldn't take it if you did"

Willow held on to his arm and giggled "I'd never break your heart - your too cute"

"Am not! - I'm the big bad!, okay if you nibble on my ear like that again we're not going to get very far." he laughed.

"So you were saying something about Giles not  freaking out?" Willow asked as they entered the tunnels.

Spike explained about his early morning visit from Xander, and how Giles and he had guessed about them liking each other.

"He's okay with it?" she asked amazed.

Spike nodded as they entered the Watchers courtyard, taking her hand in his he kissed her hand gently, his blue eyes looking deep into hers "You okay with the others knowing, we could leave it awhile - see if you can take being me? I'm not an easy fella to be around luv - can be real annoying at times, or so I'm told"

Willow just smiled and kissed him deeply, hearing him growl as she stroked her tongue along the roof of his mouth.

"I love it when you growl like that, makes me wanna do naughty things to you" she giggled

"Keep doing than and I'll show you how loud I can growl" his voice husky.

Tugging him along they strolled hand in hand into Giles's apartment.

@@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@     @@@@@

Giles looked up from his book as they entered, frowning slightly at they're joined hands then smiling his acceptance of their relationship.

Willow mouthed `Thank you' "Would you like some tea I've just made some" he asked, amazed at how happy they were and how they seemed to fit so well together.

<His dark to her light - they balance each other perfectly>

"thanks Giles's that'd be great"

"Cheers mate"

"Got any soda G-Man?" Xander asked walking through the door behind them, his nose buried in a comic book.

"Yes and don't keep calling me that " Giles told him walking into the kitchen.

"Hi Will, Spike - here for the training?" he asked flopping in to the armchair.

"Yes WE are" Willow told him, hoping he'd notice them standing so close and say something.

"Good" Xander mumbled.

Willow frowned, then a evil grin formed on her lips - pulling Spike over to the couch she pushed him down and straddled his hips - his eyes went wide and he quirked an eyebrow.

Leaning close to his ear Willow whispered "Need to teach Xander a little lesson in observation"

Spike grinned "Like the sound of that pet" he replied pulling her lips down to his for a hard kiss, his hands sliding down to grip her butt, hers sliding under his shirt - her short nails tormenting his nipples an chest, she heard him moan against her mouth - could feel him hardening.

"Jesus pet" he whispered pulling his lips from hers - she grinned at him and bucked against the rising bulge.

Spike's own hand crept under her shirt, pushing her bra up he pinched her nipple, feeling it pebble beneath his touch.

"Turn abouts fair play love" he growled.

Willow sighed and attacked his mouth again, feeling his hand press against her denim clad mound she ground her hip down - seeking fulfilment.

It was at that moment she heard Xander's startled shout "GILES! - they're making out - ON YOUR COUCH!. Make them stop - my god where the hell are his hands?"

Willow tore her lips from Spike and looked over her shoulder "You really wanna know Xand?, teach you not to notice I've got a new boyfriend" winking at him as Spike kissed along her jaw.

"I knew - just didn't wanna make a big deal out of it in case Buffy found out"

"Buffy found out what?" the Slayer asked, walking through the door.

Spike felt Willow tense but she made no move to get off him , instead she looked over at Buffy - past his shoulder and told her, her voice calm but firm "about me and Spike"

Buffy frowned "You and Spike what? - Oh god tell me your not!" then realising where Willow was sitting her voice grew hard "GET OFF HIM NOW! - don't you see this is all some game to hurt ME!" she cried.

Willow jumped from Spike's lap and met Buffy in the centre of the room "This is not about you - Not everything that happens in Sunnydale is about you" she shouted, furious at her friends opinion of  herself.

"Willow he`s a vampire, DEMON!" Buffy shouted.

"Like Angel was, or Anya used to be - god Buffy I dated a Werewolf for over 2 years and you didn't give a damn about that "

Spike got to his feet and faced Buffy "I know you won't believe me and I really don't care but I love Willow - have for a while. I don't think I knew what it was until I met her - you wanna be angry at anyone be angry at me."

Willow smiled at Spike, until she saw Buffy running across the room -  stake raised.

Willow waved her hand in Buffy's direction - sending the slayer crashing back against the front door.

Xander and Giles, who had been watching the exchange silently went to move towards her, then stopped as Willow marched across the room.

Buffy was on her feet in a second "Don't you ever use your magic tricks on me again!" she screamed

"Did you really think I'd let you stake him? Are you really that stupid. If you ever touch him again I swear I'll kill you" Willow hissed.

Buffy narrowed her eyes at her "You, you really think you can take me?"

"Maybe - maybe not, but as you can see my `magic tricks' are pretty powerful- wanna test them"

Giles stepped between the two girls "Now that's enough, Buffy it is Willow's decision who she loves not yours - you have no right to dictate who she is with" he told her harshly.

Buffy shook her head in wonder "He tried to kill her - now she loves him, how can she ever trust him?"

"You trusted Angel, after he returned you loved him - he tried to kill all of us, he did kill Miss Calendar - and YOU forgave him - no matter what the rest of us thought" Xander told her.

Buffy spun around "You too?"

"Spike helped you Buffy, remember? Made you realise that Angel was going to destroy the world. He may not have his soul but he has more love compassion, and understanding of the human psyche of anyone I've ever met - human or demon" Willow told her quietly.

Turning to Spike she smiled as she felt him kiss her hand "I love you" he whispered.

His eyes misted with emotion - he had never known anyone fight his corner so vehemently.

"Spike do you have the mirror?" Willow asked softly, Spike shook his head "left it in my bedroom" he told her.

"Oh, could you take the guys and go get it for me - I'll be fine you'll be back in a few minutes. I really need to speak to Buffy alone for a moment" touching his arm gently she nodded and whispered "Okay?"

"K' come on - lets move you two" he told Xander and Giles, and with a hard glare at the Slayer he marched out the door, the men running behind him to keep up.

Willow sat on the couch and looked up at Buffy " Could we try and talk about this - like adults?"

"I don't understand how you can stand to let that THING touch you" Buffy told her, sitting on the couch.

"He's not a thing - he's a man. I love him, I'm not even sure how it happened, but I know it's right. I'm not asking for you to be friends - I have no choice but to love him, the same way you had no choice but to love Angel."

Buffy's spine stiffened at the mention of her ex-lovers name "He had a soul"

"And Spike has no choice but to tell the truth. That's why I want him to get the mirror"

"What has the bloody mirror got to do with anything?" Buffy frowned.

"It reveals Spike's thoughts, not just his image. That was how I knew he loved me" she told her friend - hoping she'd at least try and understand.

"What do you mean?"

"I used the mirror so I could brush my hair" blushing slightly at the reason why.

"I saw Spike instead of myself, he was standing by the door shouting at me to hurry up - but the `mirror' Spike said he loved me and was scared of telling me in case I left him" Willow's eyes shone at the memory.

"You were at his place? Why would you.Oh tell me you haven't slept with him" Buffy moaned.

"Yes I have and it was wonderful. I love him Buffy I know you'll never understand or accept it but I need you to know I'm not finishing it just because of you. I want you to know that I love him and he makes me smile. If this makes it so we can't be friends anymore I'll respect that - I won't like it but I'll understand" Willow explained softly.

Buffy studied her friend and was shaken by the realisation that Willow had grown up so much faster than she.

"Do you trust him not to hurt you - in anyway?"

Willow nodded, she could see Buffy was edging towards the `I accept but don't like or understand it'

At that moment Spike burst through the door, Xander stumbling in behind him - he pointed an accusing finger at Spike then at Willow.

"He - ran- no fair!, some of us - need to breathe" he panted all but falling into a chair. Giles came staggering in at that moment.

"Won't need to go jogging - for a month or two" he gasped leaning against the counter.

"I didn't want to leave you alone too long" Spike whispered in Willow's ear.

The `with her' was unspoken but everyone in the room knew what he meant.

"Did you get the mirror?"

Spike handed it over, Willow past it to Buffy.

"Watch" she told her.

"Spike could you say something about me?"

"Easy" he whispered.

"I love Willow" he told the Slayer.

A fraction of a second after he said it `mirror Spike' repeated it.

"Doesn't prove anything except the mirror's out of time with reality" the Slayer sneered.

Spike glared at her "Your Willow's best friend and a good slayer"

However the `mirror Spike' said "You might be willow's friend but you treat her like dirt - She's worth ten of you and you know it. You resent that she can do witchcraft because that makes her just as or more powerful than you"

Buffy's mouth dropped open in shock, her eyes glued to the mirror.

"See" Willow whispered, seeing her friend raise shocked eyes to hers.

"OO OO Try me!" Xander cried, bouncing in the chair.

Spike smiled at the boys antics "K' Xander you're an annoying prat"

Xander frowned - then he heard the mirror speak .

"You're a nice kid, a bit annoying and slightly thick at times. Your loyal and think more of your friends than you do of yourself, I know you'd never let anyone or anything hurt Willow and for that you have my respect, and friendship"

Xander grinned "Hey I like that! - do Giles!"

"Watcher your taste in clothes are terrible, you never have any decent booze and you run out of Weetabix too quick" Spike told the Watcher with a smile.

Giles laughed - until the mirror started talking "You're a fair minded man, look after this lot - including myself like we were your children. You'd gladly die for them, something they know but never voice. Even after Angelus killed you true love you never blamed Buffy when you should have - and she knows that herself"

Giles froze "Thank you" he told him quietly, unaccustomed to hearing such blatant truth from anyone - let alone a , supposed, soulless demon.

"Understand now why I love him?" Willow whispered tears on her cheeks.

Buffy nodded dumbly - shocked at Spike's words and how true they were.

"I'll accept this - but if he hurts you.." Buffy left the threat hanging in the air.

Willow nodded "I understand, that's what all friends feel like huh?"

Buffy smiled a little, knowing it was going to be difficult seeing Spike and Willow together, but she also knew her only other option was to lose Willow as a friend and she couldn't bear the thought of that.

A small part of Buffy was happy that her friend had someone who obviously  loved her so much.

<  Just why did it have to be HIM?  >

The next couple of weeks was a flurry of spell casting and training.

The weather was getting steadily worse until it became apparent they would have to do the spell sooner rather than later.

Willow had moved in with Spike, he was amazed at how easily they had slipped into each others routines.

Finally the day of reckoning was upon them.

Willow was nervous as she walked in to the cave, Spike had asked around and found out from Clem where the demons were hiding out.

Buffy, Giles, Anya and Xander were waiting for them back at Giles's apartment.

The idea was that if the demons got past Spike and Willow - they would be able to track them, using a spell that Giles had cooked up from one of Miss Calendar's spell books.

"You ready Pet?" Spike whispered taking her hand.

Willow nodded " As I'll ever be I guess"

Walking deeper into the cave they heard a distant murmur of voices.

Peering around the edge of  a large rock - Willow and Spike saw the demons.

"There's three, this will be harder than I thought Spike"

"Don't worry pet you'll do fine - no one's gonna hurt us - can't, we just found each other" he told her kissing her cold fingers gently.

Willow smiled slightly at his words and nodded  "They wouldn't dare" she whispered.

Spike grinned and gestured for her to start.

Willow closed her eyes, breathing deeply she began to chant softly.

The air around them started to shimmer, first blue then green then an intense fiery red.

Spike watched as Willow's voice grew in volume - knowing the moment of truth was upon them when the Chaos Demons crashed around the rock.

They stopped and stared at the young witch, not even noticing Spike's presence.

One by one they began to sniff the air - Spike knew what they could smell, he could smell it too.

The air was thick with the scent of power.

Pure unadulterated POWER.

Spike had never smelt it so strong before - and he'd been in the company of some mighty powerful witches and warlocks in his long unlife.

It poured from the redhead in waves - Spike had the sudden realisation that even she didn't know how powerful she could and would become, he sighed a little as he understood that this spell would be almost easy for her.

It was at that moment that the Demons snapped out of their trance and  saw Spike - lunging towards him, Spike knew his part of the battle had just begun.

He felt his skin split from the heavy blows they threw, his ribs crack from being thrown like an angry child's toy against the walls of the cave.

After what seemed like an eternity he heard Willow cry out - knew this was the moment he had been waiting for.

The demons turned as one and looked at her, ignoring Spike struggling to his feet.

Her head snapped forward then up - her eyes completely black as the very essence of the spell swam in her veins.

Spike dropped to the ground as he'd been instructed, his eyes never leaving his love as he watched her carry out the last part of the spell.

Willow flung out her arms, bolts of blue and black energy shot from her fingertips - binding the shocked demons.

Reaching into her pocket she pulled a small talisman and threw it at them - crying "Blessed be" as she did so.

Immediately screams filled the air - their cries bouncing off the walls of the cave, the smell of burning flesh filling the air - making Spike want to heave.

Then suddenly it all stopped in a blinding flash, the demons vanished in a cloud of putrid air, leaving the cave silent once again .

Nothing left of them but smoke and stink.

Willow collapsed on to the floor.

"Pet?" Spike cried crawling over to her side.

"They gone?" she whispered, sweat running down her face.

Spike nodded, she looked so pale, so young.

He couldn't believe that only seconds before this girl had enough energy coursing through her veins to vanquish three Chaos Demons.

"Tired" she whispered, laying her head against his chest.

"No - no pet, Giles said you couldn't sleep - remember. Come on red talk to me, stay with me" he told her.

"I'm okay Spike - don't worry" she told him, her head lolling back as she struggled to stay awake.

Lifting her into his arms - his body protesting, but he paid it no mind.

He would have gladly walked through the fires of hell for his redhead.

He ran all the way to Giles's, kicking open the door.

"GILES" he shouted.

Willow had been slipping in and out of consciousness the whole way there.

"Spike! - oh god, is she okay?" Giles asked.

"Did the spell, killed the demons - she keeps going under though - make her okay" he demanded.

"Put her in the guest room, I'll bring the elixir right up"

As Spike ran up the stairs, Buffy watched from the kitchen doorway.

"Will she really be okay?" She whispered.

"Given time - believe Spike loves her now" he snapped .

Buffy nodded, more than a little shocked to have seen the concern on Spike's face, She sat on the sofa and waited for news of her friend.

Xander and Anya stood together watching the scene in front of them in silence.

Giles's took the small vial from the fridge and followed Spike up the stairs.

Willow lay back against the pillows, cool fingers brushing her face.

Struggling to open her eyes she whispered "Spike?"

"I'm here Red" he told her softly.

"We win?"

"You kicked demon butt Luv" he told her, she smiled faintly "Good"

Giles burst into the room.

"Drink this" he told her softly.

Spike took the vial and held it to Willow's lips, she drank it down and scrunched up her nose in disgust.

"Eww" she moaned  "Gross"

"Sleep now - You'll be tired for a few days, but nothing some rest and pampering won't cure." he told her.

Willow nodded, snuggling into the pillows.

"Spike she needs to sleep" Giles told the watching vampire softly.

"Not leaving her"

"Your hurt"

"I'll mend, not leaving her Giles" Spike whispered, glancing up at the watcher.

Giles nodded "I'll get Buffy to bring you up some blood, you'll need it to help you heal"

Leaving the room quietly Giles went downstairs.

As he entered the lounge he was pounced upon by three worried friends.

"How is she?" Xander asked, his voice shaking with worry.

Smiling at the boy Giles lay a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"She'll be fine. The spell took a lot out of her, she just needs to get her strength back is all" he informed them gently.

Xander and Buffy both breathed a sigh of relief .

"And Spike?" Buffy asked in a small voice.

"He's pretty beat up Buffy and stubborn as hell, he's refusing to leave Willow's side - Would you take him up some blood ?"

Buffy nodded and set about her task.

Spike lay gently dozing on the bed, Willow held tight to his body, When Buffy entered the room.

He opened his eyes slowly, frowning a little at her standing there.

"I've got your blood" she told him, setting it on the table next to the bed.

"Thanks - I didn't think you'd come up here" he whispered softly.

"I wanted to see how she was, how you both were"

"You should have seen her, She was amazing!. Scared the hell out of me though when she collapsed. Pretty strong girl ain't she?" he smiled looking down at the sleeping girl in his arms.

"Yeah she is, probably the strongest of all of us I think" Buffy smiled in return.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Spike leant forward a little "Can I ask you something?" he whispered.

Buffy nodded.

"Who gave Red that mirror - not an old lover was it?" he frowned, remembering the dedication on the back  on the back.

[  "To my dearest love"  ]

"Oh, her grandmother had it made for her for her 16th birthday - jealous were you?"

"Little bit" he mumbled - grinning a little.

"Spike I want to know I do believe you love her. When you came through the door you looked terrified - I've seen a vamp look like that before, except just before I staked them."

Spike chuckled "I can well imagine - I really love her, don't know when it creeped up on me but it's there. I'd die for her."

Willow sighed "Not gonna have to, nice to hear you chatting. Love you both" she muttered before falling asleep again.

Buffy laughed "has to have the last word doesn't she?"

Spike nodded.

Rising to leave, Buffy turned to him "As long as she's happy I'm happy. Understand?"

Spike nodded, smiling as the Slayer left them alone.

Willow cuddled against him "Spike?" she whispered.

"Yeah pet?"

"Did I do good?" she asked a small frown on her face.

Spike kissed her forehead softly before answering.

"Better than good Red - You saved the world" he whispered.

"Oh that's okay then" Willow sighed.

Cuddling her close Vampire and Witch fell into a deep sleep.

With the knowledge that even though they had no idea what the future held, it wouldn't matter.

Because they would face it together.

The End.
