In the wee hours of the morning, just before dawn, a young blond woman pulled her mother’s car out of the drive. That woman was Buffy Summers. Buffy knew if she’d asked her mother for the car she’d find out where she was going and tell Giles or try and stop her. As she drove past the Now Leaving Sunnydale sign, Buffy hoped her mom wouldn’t call Giles right away, and give her time to get closer to LA.

Joyce Summers woke at her usual time and went about her morning routine until she went to get into her car and found it missing. Seeing her car was gone, she ran into the house searching for Buffy. When she got to Buffy’s room, her closet was open and clothes were missing as well. Buffy’s bed was unslept in and she just knew Buffy had taken the car, she just didn’t know to where. The only person she could think of that might know where her daughter had gone was Rupert. Calling him was always hard for her since the candy sale when Buffy was in High School. Her behavior that day was nothing lady like at all, but today she would put that on hold to find Buffy. She couldn’t believe her daughter had run away again and just hoped Rupert could help.

Rupert Giles awoke with a searing pain running through his head and back. Sleeping on his couch was never a good idea, especially since he’d been drinking since Buffy had left the night before. After hearing about Oz’s near miss with the wolf inside of him, and how close Oz had come from hurting Willow again. For the fourth time since finding out that Oz was a Werewolf, Oz had nearly hurt Willow, all because of the things Oz had heard from Buffy. No matter how much he disliked Angel, he was very glad both him and Spike had been there for the poor girl. Angel had also reassured him that Spike was taking good care of Willow. The conversation between the two may have been short and abrupt but it was very informative.

The second thing Giles noticed upon waking was that his phone was ringing. Standing up with a groan, shakily he mad his way to the phone and answered it.

“’ello.” He said whipping his eyes with his hand.

“Rupert, this is Joyce, do you know where Buffy may have gone with my car?” She asked hopefully.

“She took your car. Oh dear, Joyce I think she may have gone to LA. Oh dear lord, she’s gone after Willow.” Rupert said now fully awake and sober.

“What are we going to do? Do you think she’s in danger?” Joyce asked panicking a little.

“No, I do not think that she is in danger, however I fear for the group in LA, especially Spike. I must call and warn them, why don’t you go to work for now and I’ll call you if I hear anything.” Giles told her trying to reassure her.

“Alright, but as soon as you hear anything you’ll call.” She said agreeing.

“Of Course, Goodbye.” He said.

”Goodbye, and thanks.” She said before hanging up.

After she hung up, Rupert immediately dialed the number he had just used the night before.

“Angel Investigations, We help the helpless.” Cordelia said as she answered the phone.

“Cordelia, Giles here. May I please speak with Angel?” He asked.

“One moment, Giles. He just stepped out of his office.” She told him.

Giles could hear the mumbles of several voices before Angel finally picked up the phone.

“Hello, Rupert. What can I do for you?” Angel asked confused because he’d just talked to Giles the night before and now he was calling again. It was rare to get one call let alone two from Rupert so he knew something was wrong.

“Angel, we seem to have a problem. It seems that Buffy has lifted Joyce’s car and left sometime this morning. I have a feeling that she’s headed your way. Please, take care. I just thought I would give you some warning.” Giles told him hastingly.

“Thank you. I’ll be sure to warn the others. I’ll let you go. If she shows up or if I hear anything, I’ll have Willow call you.” Angel said as they said their goodbyes.

Giles worried about Buffy’s state of mind and all he could think about was…

(Where the hell did she go?)
