DOUBLE TAKE

A bright flash of purple light exploded and vanished.
Two people appeared out of the light and landed on the
ground in front of Sunnydale's The Bronze.

"Willow? What the hell was that?" The man asked his
companion, dazed. "It was a trip." He looked around in
confusion. "Why are we sitting on the ground? Weren't
we just in the mansion?"

The girl nodded. "Don't like this..." She paused. She
brushed her red hair out of her face. She sniffed the
air. Her nose crinkled. "Lots of humans. They are
happy." She pouted. "Why isn't there blood and
screaming? Spike, where are we?"

Spike shrugged and hooked an arm around her waist,
pulling his love to him. He kissed her neck. "Don't
know, baby. Let's have a look around."

"Willow!" A snide voice called.

Willow glared at the blonde coming towards her. She
turned to her mate. "I thought I killed her."

"You did." Spike replied.

Willow shrugged. "Guess I'll just have to do it
again." She turned towards the girl, pasting a
sugary-sweet smile on her face. "Hi Harmony!"

Harmony approached the redhead. "Geekgirl, what's
with the outfit?" She asked, eyeing Willow's corset
top and leather pants critically. "It's too early for
Halloween."

Willow batted her eyes innocently. "Whatever do you
mean, Harmony?"

Harmony rolled her eyes. "Puh-leez! You look
ridiculous! You look like some sort of goofy cheap
slut! Just stick to the fuzzy sweaters, geek." Harmony
spat. Actually, she thought the redhead looked halfway
decent, but she wasn't about to tell the nerd that.

Spike growled in warning. "Don't talk about my girl
like that again."

Harm's eyes widened as she noticed the hottie with
Willow. "Why are you with Willow? She's mousy, not
even pretty. I'm going to the Bronze...." She stopped,
letting the invitation hang. She was sure this guy
would ditch Willow for her in a second.

Willow growled and grabbed Harmony's arm in a brusing
grip. Before the blonde had time to scream, she had
been dragged into an alley by the redhead.

"He's mine!" Willow snarled at the petrified girl.
Spike appeared behind Willow, wrapping his arms around
her trim waist.

"I love it when you get possesive, baby." He smirked,
resting his chin on her shoulder. "Makes me all hot."

Willow turned her head and nipped at his lip. "Not
now, Spikey. Hungry first, then shag." She turned her
head back towards Harmony, vamp face now intact.
"Bye-bye bitch." She said, before sinking her fangs in
the girl's neck. After she was finished, she let the
body drop to the ground. Spike snarled, aroused by his
mate's savage display. He spun her around, her back
hitting the alley wall. He attacked her mouth with his
own, both dueling for dominance. He lifted her up, so
she could wrap her legs around his waist. She wrapped
her arms around his neck, and Spike's hand was firmly
on the back of her head, pulling her to him. He moved
his mouth over her pulse point, and gently bit into
her neck, re-claiming his mate. He was about ready to
throw her down, and take her then and there, when-

"Oh my God!" Buffy screeched.

***

Buffy was on patrol with Riley when her "spider
sense" went off. She followed her Slayer instincts to
an alley, and to her disgust and horror, she found her
best friend making out with Spike, in a major way.

"Willow! What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
Buffy knew Willow was having a hard time getting over
Oz's departure, but this was a little too extreme for
her liking.

Willow reguarded the blonde cooly. "Slayer." She slid
down the wall until she was standing up. Spike wrapped
his arms around her waist.

Buffy started when she noticed what Willow was
wearing. "Will? What's with the leather?" Then the
Slayer noticed the still bleeding bite mark just above
the top of the redhead's breast.

"You bit her! You bastard!" Buffy growled, and
charged Spike. Spike put Willow behind him to shield
her from the furious Slayer, and deflected Buffy with
a punch to the face, and a kick to the stomach.

Willow smirked coldly at the fallen girl. "Stupid
Buffy. Ruin my fun." She vamped out.

Riley was shocked from his stunned stupor and took
out his crossbow and aimed it at Spike.

Willow, enraged, kicked it out of his hand. "Don't
you dare try to stake my mate, you weakling!"

Spike pulled her to him and ran a finger along one of
the ridges on her forehead. She purred and leaned into
him. "Go now?"

Spike nodded. "Yeah, let's get out of here, baby.
Watching you kill that girl got me all horny.
Actually, you always do that to me."

Willow giggled as Spike wrapped an arm around her
shoulders as he led her away.

Buffy was still lying on the ground, stunned.
"Willow's...a vampire? How? Spike hit me! The chip!
The chip doesn't work, and he, he got Willow..." Buffy
burst into tears as Riley led her back to Giles' to
tell the Watcher they lost one of their own.

***

Rupert Giles looked up, alarmed as his front door
crashed opened. A devestated Buffy with a bleeding lip
and a shocked Riley came in.

Anya looked up from the magazine she was reading as
she sat in a chair. "Whoa, what happened to you?"

Xander looked concerned. "Get in a fight, Buffster?"

"Buffy! Dear Lord, what happened?" Giles exclaimed as
he looked up from his own reading.

Buffy sat down, lip trembling. "Giles. I, I, was
patroling, and we found Wills and Spike making out in
an alley. He, Spike bit Willow...he hit me. The chip
isn't working. She's dead, Giles. He turned her."
Buffy again broke down into tears.

Giles turned wide-eyed to look in the kitchen. "That
can't be."

"It is!" Buffy tearfully insisted.

Giles shook his head. "No, Buffy. Spike's-"

Just then, Spike came out of the kitchen, mug of
blood in hand. "Watcher, you still haven't gotten me
my Wheat-a-bix yet-"

With a shriek of fury and hate, Buffy tackled her
blonde nemesis to the floor, spilling blood
everywhere.

"You god damn fucking son-of-a-bitch BASTARD! You
killed my best friend!" Buffy cursed, punching him in
the face.

Spike growled and tried to push her off, only to end
up howling in pain when the chip activated.

Just then the front door opened and Willow came in.
"Hey guys!" She called cheerily. "Giles, I got you the
herbs from the...magic...store." she trailed off as
Riley pulled out a crucifix and put it in front of her
face. She looked around the room. Blood was all over
the floor, a mug was shattered into pieces, Buffy
looked confused, and she had Spike at stakepoint,
Giles looked upset, Riley looked scared and Spike
shared Willow's quiet sentiment. They had all gone
crazy, and  the blonde vampire loudly told them so.

***

After managing to calm Buffy down, everyone waited
patiently for an explination.

Buffy gave a sigh of frustration. "Giles. It's just
like I told you. We saw Willow and Spike making out in
an alley-"

"What?" Willow whispered.

"And then Willow was dressed in leather-"

Spike kind of tuned out, imagining the redheaded
beauty who haunted his dreams in leather.

"And Spike bit her-"

"What?!" Willow exclaimed.

"And then Spike punched me, and then he told Wills he
was horny and they left, to um..." Buffy trailed off,
but what she thought they were going to do was clearly
implied.

"WHAT?!!" Willow shrieked.

Spike had tuned back into the conversation, to hear
the last piece of conversation. He would be lying if
he said he didn't care for the redhead. Whenever she
"vampsat" as she called it, it took all his
self-control not to throw her to the floor and take
her every way he could imagine. He heard the comment
about him being horny and that was probably the only
true thing about the Slayer's wacked-out story.
Whenever he was around Red, he was horny. She always
managed to turn him on. Her fruity shampoo, her soft
voice, her sweet musical laugh... he wanted her so
bad, his teeth hurt. He was determined once he lost
the chip, he would claim her, and make her his
Princess for all eternity.

"What?! WHAT?!" Willow continued to shriek.

"Willow, please quit screaming." Giles told her.
"Buffy, are you positive it was Willow and Spike you
saw?"

"Giles, gawd! Yes, it was! It was Willow and Spike! A
dead Willow in a lot of leather, but it was her. She
knew my name." Buffy explained, exasperated.

"Hmmm." Giles murmured, going over to his bookcase,
pulling out a thick, old looking book and started
skimming the pages.

"Giles? What?" Willow asked.

Giles looked up. "Oh, sorry. This is quite
facsinating. A possible explination for what Buffy saw
was-"

"She was high on drugs?" Spike helpfully suggested.

Giles glared at him. "No. Maybe these doubles you saw
are Willow and Spike from another version of
Sunnydale."

"Like another universe?" Riley asked.

"Precisely." Giles nodded.

"Well, how did we-they get here?" Willow asked. "They
can't be here! There can't be two mes!" Willow
exclaimed.

Giles shrugged. "I know. I don't know how to fix it.
Perhaps if we bring them here..." Giles trailed off,
deep in thought.

Buffy stood up abruptly. "What?! No way! You can't
bring them in here! They're both nuts! She's psycho
killer, and he's a stupid moron!"

"Well, at least we know Spike's the exact same in
this other world." Xander quipped from the kitchen as
Spike flipped him off.

"So, Giles, should we go round them up?" Anya asked,
curious to see the other verisons of Willow and Spike.

Buffy loaded a crossbow, and she, Riley, Xander, and
Anya trooped out the door. Willow stood up to go, but
Giles stopped her. "No. It would be best if you and
Spike stayed here. We don't know how your doubles
would react...to seeing you."

Willow flopped down on the couch next to Spike. "This
is stupid!"

Spike raised an eyebrow. "Stupid?"

Willow nodded her head. "Yeah. Me, a vampire, in
leather, making out with *you* in an alley, and you
all chipless and bite-y. It's crazy!"

"What's so crazy about you and me being together?" He
asked huskily.

Willow turned red. "Because, you-you're you, and I'm
me..."

Spike raised an eyebrow, making Willow blush
furiously, then stammer and go into the kitchen. Spike
sighed. Somehow, he would get his Red.

***

Xander laced his hand through Anya's as they walked
down the street, a ways ahead of Buffy and Riley.

"This is stupid. Maybe Buffy just saw people that
looked like Willow and Spike." Xander griped, wishing
he was at home watching T.V.

Anya stopped dead in her tracks when she saw two
people step out of the shadows in front of them. She
began to tug on his hand, trying to get him to look in
front of him.

"Xander..." A voice purred.

Xander looked up, and his eyes widened. "Holy shit!"

Willow was standing in front of him. He could tell
this was not his best friend. The Willow in front of
him was paler, and had darker hair, the same color as
blood. He turned to look at the Spike with Willow. He
looked pretty much the same, same clothes, but this
one wasn't chipped. Xander began to pull Anya
backwards.

Willow turned to look at Spike. "Spikey, he's
scared." Willow pouted. "He wasn't this scared the
first time I killed him."

Spike smirked. "It's a world full of happy meals,
baby."

Willow licked her lips. "Yummy. I'm hungry."

Spike looked the dark haired teen over distastefully.
"Love, are you sure you want to eat him? He probably
tastes rancid."

Willow shrugged. "Probably tastes better than that
blonde bitch." Willow made a face. "She was ooky."

Anya began to back up. "Ooky? Uh, yeah. We gotta
run..."

Willow shot forward and grabbed Anya's wrist. "Going
somewhere?" The redhead asked sweetly.

"Hey, let her go!" Xander exclaimed, trying to go
help his girlfriend, but was stopped by Spike.

Xander watched helplessly as Willow vamped out, and
lowered her head to Anya's neck.

***

Riley and Buffy were walking together, scouring the
shadows, when they heard yelling in the distance.
Buffy's head snapped up. "Shit."

"What?" Riley asked.

"Vampires." Buffy said as she ran up the street. She
skidded to a halt as she went around a corner. The
vampire Willow stood there, getting ready to take a
bite out of Anya, while Spike held a struggling Xander
back.

Buffy whipped out her crossbow, and advanced on the
redhaired vampire. "Let her go, Willow."

Willow looked up and smirked. "Slayer. How nice it is
to see you. Not."

Buffy cocked the crossbow at Willow's heart. "Now."

Willow raised her eyebrows. "Or what?"

"Or I'll stake you." Buffy replied."

Spike growled. "You'll be dead before the arrow
leaves the bow."

"Or not." Riley said as he smashed a trash can lid
over the blond vampire's head, knocking him over, and
releasing Xander.

Willow growled, bearing her fangs. "Bad move, boy.
You hurt my mate, now I hurt you." Willow lunged at
Riley, knocking him down. Riley fumbled around for his
cross, and held it in front of the redhead's face,
making her snarl. She backed up as Riley advanced on
her.

"Don't you know it's not polite to hit people?" Spike
growled as he bowled the commando over. Willow had
slammed Buffy up against a tree. Riley, seeing his
girlfriend was in trouble, reached into his pocket,
and pulled out a taser, and threw it to Buffy. Buffy
caught it, and shocked Willow with it. The redhead
screamed as she was engulfed in blue sparks. She fell
to the ground, twitching. Spike snarled, and threw
Riley down, and headed over to his mate, kneeling next
to her. He looked up as Buffy pressed a stake into his
back. "Walk."

"What?" Spike growled, holding his mate to him
protectively.

"I'm taking you to Giles." Buffy replied.

The vampire sighed, seeing there was no way out of
this short of being staked, picked up his mate, and
followed the Commando, with the Slayer pointing a
stake at his back.

***

"Giles, we got 'em!" Buffy called as she opened the
door, and hearded the blonde vampire carrying his
unconscious mate inside. Riley, Xander, and Anya
followed behind the Slayer, expressions of dazed shock
on their faces. Giles looked up briefly from his book.
He gaped as he saw the carbon copies of the chipped
vampire, and the redhaired witch. "My God..."

The Spike from the other universe rolled his eyes. He
stiffened as he suddenly sensed...himself and his
Willow, but this Willow was human. "What the...?"

Sunnydale's version of Spike stepped out from the
kitchen, and blinked in surprise. "Holy shit." He
swore, as he saw his twin. His eyes widened as he took
in the leather clad form of an unconscious vampire
Willow. "Bloody hell..." He whispered.

Willow poked her head out into the living room.
"What? Did we prove that there can't be two versions
of...us." Willow trailed off as she gasped in shock as
she noticed her double, and the vampire holding her
leather clad twin.

Buffy looked to her Watcher. "What now, Giles?"

Giles shrugged. "Put them in Oz's old cage in the
basement, I suppose." He turned to their versions of
Spike and Willow. "You two stay out of the way."

***

The alternate Spike was scowling, leaning against the
bars of the cage, staring at the Watcher hatefully. He
had laid his mate down gently on the floor. The
Watcher went upstairs to get the group. Shortly after,
the teens and chipped vamp walked over to the familiar
vampires. Both Spikes reguarded each other with
interest. Willow was peering cautiously at the vampire
version of herself. Willow's eyes widened and she
stepped back when she heard her vampiric double growl.
The leather clad version of Willow opened her eyes,
and her mate helped her up, pulling her into his arms.
She looked around, starting in surprise when she saw
the familiar face of her lover, and the emerald eyes
of her own face staring back at her.  "What's going on
here?" She asked, growling slightly.

Her mate nuzzled her neck. "Easy, baby."

Buffy made a disgusted face. "Eww. That's just
so...so icky!" She exclaimed.

Xander nodded, and shuddered. "I agree."

The other worlders ignored them. VampWillow growled
as she looked around. "Bookman." She said, glaring at
Giles. She growled, and her game face emerged.
Sunnydale's version of Spike gaped. Willow was
beautiful as a vampire. The vampiress hissed at the
Slayer. "You bitch!" She hissed. She looked at the
human version of herself, and then she turned to look
at hre lover's twin. VampWillow turned back to look at
her mate. "Lookie, baby. It's us."

Her Spike chuckled. He looked the human Willow up and
down. "You're hot here, pet."

The human Willow blushed crimson, and backed away.
Her vampiric double laughed. "Aww. So sweet and
modest." The vampire sniffed the air. "And a virgin,
too."

The alternate Spike leered at the human redhead. "I
think I can help her out with that."

"Hey!" The chipped Spike exclaimed.

His double shrugged. "Sorry. Your job, right?"

Buffy's face scrunched up in disgust. "Eww..."

Willow frowned. "Spike and I aren't...we don't do
that."

The vampire Willow looked genuinely confused, she
cocked her head, and blinked her big green eyes.
"Why?"

"Because it is gross and wrong." Xander blurted.

"Hon, shut up before Spike decides to snap your neck
like a twig." Anya told him softly.

Xander looked at the chipped vampire. "He can't hurt
me. He's got the chip."

"He does. But *that* one doesn't." Anya said,
motioning to the blonde vampire in the cage.

Xander took an unconscious step backward as the caged
vampire glared at him in hate and anger. He smelled
the teen's fear, and smiled coldly.

The vampire Willow giggled. She smiled up at her
Spike. "I like it here. It's fun."

"Well, that's not the word I'd use to describe this."
Giles stated dryly.

***

"So, what is your world like?" Xander asked the two
vampires.

VampWillow smiled, and her eyes flashed amber. "So
much fun."

Her Spike grinned, and slung an arm around her
shoulder. "Plenty of Happy Meals on legs."

VampWillow giggled. "Don't forget all the blood and
screaming."

Her mate smiled at her. "Yeah, lots of that, right
luv?"

The vampiress nodded. "Lots."

"Where is Buffy?" Giles asked.

VampWillow laughed. "Dead."

"I'm...I'm dead?" Buffy whispered.

The alternate Spike grinned. "Dead and buried,
Slayer."

Buffy narrowed her eyes at the blonde. "You killed
me?"

The blonde demon shook his head. "Nah." He smiled at
his mate, and ran a hand through her red hair, smiling
at her purr. "My pet here finished you off."

Willow gasped. "You...I killed Buffy?"

VampireWillow laughed. "Of course. It was easy. Just
grabbed her one night, and kept her chained up in the
basement." She looked lovingly at her mate. "Spikey
showed me how to use railroad spikes and chainsaws."

Buffy shuddered. "Oh, God."

The alternate version of Spike smiled in pride. "My
pet bagged a Slayer." He said proudly. "Tortured her
just like I taught her."

His mate nodded. "Easy kill." She growled.

"The bitch didn't even see it coming." Her Spike
grinned.

"Hey!" Buffy protested. "The bitch you're talking
about is me!"

"No kidding." Spike mumbled. Buffy glared daggers at
him.

VampWillow giggled, and beamed at her mate. "I like
him. He's you."  She giggled, before her mate caught
her mouth in a deep kiss.

Willow's eyes widened in shock, and she took on a
greenish hue. "Buffy, I'm-I'm gonna go..." She
hurriedly moved to the stairs. "This is just..."

Buffy nodded in understanding. "I know. Kind of
nightmarish." The chipped Spike glared at the blonde.
Buffy ignored him, and gave her friend a look of
concern. "Do you want me to walk with you?"

Willow shook her head. "No, that's okay."

"If your sure..." Buffy said.

Willow smiled. "Yeah. I'll be fine. Bye, guys." She
said to her friends, and glanced briefly at the still
kissing other worlders before leaving.

The alternate-universe Spike chuckled as  he heard the
front door slam. He grinned at his mate. "Oh, I hope
she didn't leave on account of us."

His mate's eyes sparkled wickedly. "Let's see who
else we can get to leave." She whispered, before
kissing her mate once again.
