Prologue: Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself...
The demoness knelt before her master, head bowed and eyes cast down. "You may speak," D'Hoffryn told her.
"You have been talking about this Willow Rosenberg for quite a while, Master," she squeaked. "And how she is at her weakest now she has decided to renounce her calling as a Sister of the Old Ones?" D'Hoffryn looked bored; a bored D'Hoffryn was truly a horrid thing. The demoness once had a friend once named Arientia that had bored D'Hoffryn once...and what he did to her...she shuddered. It had happened two millennia ago and, well, she was still talking it over with her psychiatrist. "She is truly at her weakest. And...I think I can bring her over."
"Really, Elsaden, how?" D'Hoffryn asked, beginning to get interested. *Interested is good,* Elsaden thought.
"Master, you remember why you changed me?" she asked and he nodded.
"You were creating potions that caused humans with magic abilities to alter their realities," D'Hoffryn answered. "The time before last time I sent you, you brought on the Inquisition...and the man I wanted as the Patron Saint of Scorned Men was tortured to death. And the last time you decided you wanted to help me, you caused the Salem Witch Trials...and the girl I wanted ended up getting hanged."
Elsaden winced mentally, another thing she needed to talk to her psychiatrist about...not the violence part 'cause that was fun but the whole messing up part. *Wonder if Dr. Mandoles can give me a session tonight?* Elsaden mused. She'd messed up twice and she was lucky, D'Hoffryn had let her live. If she messed up this time...he'd take her powers and she'd be a lowly mortal. He could do worse but he didn't because he had a soft spot for her. Hopefully, she wouldn't end up like Arientia...but humanity would be awful.
All of the other demons were jealous of her because she received special treatment. But this was her last chance... "I told you I was sorry about that, Master," she answered. "But I WILL NOT fail you." *I hope,* she added mentally.
"Very well, you may proceed," D'Hoffryn stated.
Elsaden gave him a weak smile.
