*She was like nothing I'd ever known
Her eyes shine like diamonds in a field of snow
The way destiny led her to me
Made me feel like life was now complete*
Oz looked out the window, and smiled. There was his love, Willow sitting on the tire swing. He could tell she was in deep thought, the way her brow was furrowed. He couldn't believe how lucky he was, she was with him. Suddenly, his smile faded.
*And now days have passed
The nights gone by
You can see the glow slowly fading from her eyes
Though she denies her pain and her dismay
Know I said this to her anyway*
He could tell she wasn't happy. She denied it, but he knew she wasn't ok. She didn't love him anymore. Hell, she probably never really truly loved him. She just thought she did.
*Don't have to stay with someone
That makes you cry
You'll end up killing all the love you have inside
Can't hope to see the sun
If you don't open your eyes
Girl don't let real love pass you by*
Willow swung back and forth on the tire swing, deep in thought. She didn't know what she wanted. *I take that back.* She knew what she wanted, but she didn't think she could get it. She was with Oz now, she passed up her chance. She had to live with it. Forever. Sighing again, she looked at the little rose she had in her hand all this time. She threw it to the ground, and started to walk back into the house.
*Ooh oh no
Ooh don't let real love pass you by*
Walking in, she smiled a little. He was cooking her favorite dinner. *He's so sweet.* She thought. *He's perfect for anyone. To bad not for me.* She faked a smile, and walked up behind her life partner.
*I know you know this
But take it from me
Cause you deserve so much more than you receive
Listen to your heart and let it show
Don't hold on to your pain
Just let it go, let it go*
"Hi Oz." She said, kissing his cheek. Oz smiled a little, and returned to his task of cooking. Willow walked over to the fridge, and took out a bottle of wine.
"White Zin?" She asked.
"Sure."
"Alright." Grabbing some wine glasses, she set them on the table, looking down at the set plates she smiled a little. Almost immediatly, Oz set a plate in front of her.
"Its ready." He said. Willow smiled and sat down.
"You made one of my favorites."
"Well, I wanted to talk to you, Willow." Willow looked up at him, her eyes curious.
"Yes?" She bit into some bread, and looked him straight in the eyes.
Oz sighed. *Here it goes.* He said to himself. "Willow, I know your unhappy,"
"Oz, of course I'm happy." She smiled at him, but he didn't buy it.
"Willow, you might say your happy, but you don't deserve this."
*Don't have to stay with someone
That makes you cry
You'll end up killing all the love you have inside
Can't hope to see the sun
If you don't open your eyes
Girl don't let real love pass you by*
"What do you think I deserve?" She asked, one of her eyebrows raised slightly. Oz smiled slightly at her question.
"That, I think we both know, Willow. I stole you away from him, never asking you. I shouldn't have done that. Now i forced you into a different life, not even stopping to ask if you're ok."
"Oz, what are you saying?"
"I'm saying don't stay here anymore, if you aren't happy. I'll always be here for you, you know that. But I know you aren't happy, being my lover, my partner. I knew ever since we agreed to be together."
*Don't have to stay with someone
That makes you cry
You'll end up killing all the love you have inside
Can't hope to see the sun
If you don't open your eyes
Girl don't let real love pass you by*
"So what do you suggest I do?" Willow asked, her hands folded underneath her chin.
"Go to him. He still loves you." Willow snorted.
"Yeah, right Oz."
"Thats what Buffy said. You do believe your best friend, don't you?" Willow's back straightened.
"Oz, what do think I'm supposed to do? Pack a bag or two, go to him, tell him I loved him all this time, and hopes he takes me back. And if he does, live happily ever after?"
"You reduced all what I'm trying to say, in one sentence. Very well done." Oz said.
*Oh yeah
Girl don't let real love pass you by
You can find a love you need
If you set your heart free
Girl...
Don't have to stay with someone
That makes you cry
Don't be discouraged baby
Don't let real love pass you by*
"Oz, you're crazy. You know that. You know I'm happy here." Willow said.
"You might be, but I think you deserve to be more than happy. And I want you to at least admit one thing to me."
"Yes?" Willow asked, her brow furrowed.
"I want you to tell me, that you aren't truly happy here, and that you still love him." He looked her straight in the eyes, and Willow looked down at her plate of mushroom chicken. She sighed, and looked back up at him.
"No, Oz. I'm not truly happy. I haven't been for awhile. And yes, I'm still in love with him. Truly, madly deeply." She let a small smile escape from her.
"Then go to him." Willow stood up, and started pacing throught the kitchen.
"It's not that easy! The night I left him, he told me never to come back."
"He was angry. Now he's lonely, and in love with someone he thinks hates him." Willow chewed her lip, and looked at Oz. He was telling her to leave him, for an old boyfriend. Her life would never stop being crazy.
*Don't have to stay with someone
That makes you cry
You'll end up killing all the love you have inside
Can't hope to see the sun
If you don't open your eyes
Girl don't let real love pass you by*
Breathing in deeply, she looked at him. Standing, she walked over to him, and kissed him on the cheek. She walked up the stairs, and into their room. Grabbing a suitcase, packing her clothes, and anything else she needed. Looking at her jewelry box, she picked up a necklace that he had given her, it was a golden locket, and inside was a picture of him and her. fastening that around her neck, she walked out of the room.
"Willow?"
"Yes, Oz?"
"Good luck." He kissed her one last time on the lips, and opened the door, walking out he turned the car on, and put her suitcase into the backseat. "Heres your cell phone." He said. Willow smiled.
"Thank you, Oz. For being so understanding and for loving me."
"Love you." He said. Willow got into the car, and pulled out of the driveway.
*Don't have to stay with someone
That makes you cry
You'll end up killing all the love you have inside
Can't hope to see the sun
If you don't open your eyes
Girl don't let real love pass you by*
Driving down the road, it all hit her. She must be crazy! She was going back to her old lover! And what a lover... but still! She was leaving the person she chose to be with, all her life, for a past boyfriend. She pulled up in front of his house. Breathing in deeply, she looked at the door. *Here goes nothing.*
She walked up the steps, towards the door. Knocking quietly on the door, she waited for the door to open.
*Don't you let nothing
Don't let no one take you away from love
Don't let real love pass you by
You'll see I know, I know, I know
You'll be alright
Don't let real love pass you by
You just can believe in love, in love, in love, in love
Don't let real love pass you by
Oh yeah
Don't let real love pass you by
Ooh, yeah
Don't let real love pass you by
Don't let, don't let, don't let, don't let
Don't let, don't let, don't let, don't let
Don't let real love pass you by
Oh yeah, oh
Don't let real love pass you by...*
Spike opened the door, and what he saw put him in shock.
"Willow? What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Oz told me to go after the person I really loved." Willow was chewing her lip, and looking at him with hopeful eyes
"And if they didn't love you back? What then?" Spike asked.
"I'd probably end up at Buffy's, wallowing in self pity." Willow replied weakly.
"And if they did?"
"I'd live with someone who would make me happy, and would be one damn good lover." Spike smiled softly, and took her face in his hands.
"So, what do u have to say?" He asked softly.
"I love you, Spike. I have since I first saw you, threatening Buffy, even after Oz came back to me, after we moved in, being unhappy for 2 years. Wanting you, needing you. But never getting you. Is it too late?" Her lip quivered, at releasing so much information. She was so scared he would turn her away.
"Not at all." His lips met hers, in a soothing kiss. His other hand, held onto at the waist. Soon, the kiss was more needy. Willow stopped kissing him and stepped back.
"I'm just gonna take that as a yes." She smiled.
"Thats a hell yes." Willow laughed, and walked back out to the car. Grabbing her suitcase, she walked back up to the door.
"This was just in case you actually said yes." Spike grabbed the suitcase, and held the door open for her. Walking inside, both turned to each other again, kissing each other softly.
The End.
