Spike held onto her as if his life depended on it. "I'm not going anywhere luv" He tried his best to comfort her wondering what exactly brought her to tears. When he noticed she had calmed down enough to speak he pulled back enough to let her breath but still kept her in his arms. "What's wrong?"
Willow bit her bottom lip nervously, she didn't want to tell him she had been thinking about Buffy. She knew it would make him sad. He had loved Buffy, as odd as was, he had loved her, and Willow knew he missed her as much as the rest of them did.
She desided to advoid his question. "I'm ok, really. I'm sorry," she started to make her way to the door but he stoped her.
"Willow..." Spike could see her fighting back more tears. "You can talk to me"
She looked at him, hopeful for a moment but changed her mind. "You need to shower. You're still covered in slime" She smiled and ran out the door before he could say anything more. He was about to go after her but changed his mind. He had spent enough time with her to know when she needed a moment alone to think.
He striped himself of his clothes and jumped into the shower, washing away the green slimey demon blood. Why won't she talk to me? I thought we were becoming close. Close? ha, I'm spending every bloody night with her. Days too, well whenever she comes that is. She so bloody perfect. The water going down the drain was clear now, the slime long gone but Spike was too wraped up in his thoughts to notice. So, why won't she talk to me? She tells me everything else. Why won't my Red talk to me now?.... my red.....?
He loved the little witch and it scared him to death. There weren't too many women in his long life that he truly would say he loved. Sure there was Dru and Buffy, but with Willow it was so much more intense than he could ever have imagined. He didn't know why he didn't realize before. Maybe it was because he had finally noticed the strong woman she had grown into. Even after Buffy's death, she was the one who held everyone together no matter how much she needed, wanted to break down. Buffy? Is that what's wrong? Maybe she was finally ready for a sholder to cry on. Why the bloddy hell are you still here? Go out there and be there for her, God knows she's always there for you.
He truned off the water. Grabing the towel he wickly dryed himself off. Wrapping the towel around him, he went looking for Willow. He found her sitting in front of the TV. From far it looked like she was actually watching whatever was on but as he got closer he cold tell she had just spaced out. Her hair was dry and curled and she was wearing clean clothes. He knew he hadn't taken that long in the shower. She must have done a spell.
As he sat down beside her she snapped out of her daze. "Oh spike" Glancing down she saw he was only wearing a towel "Spike!" Blushing she tried not to look down.
Laughing at how easily she got embarressed he added "I'm sure it's nothing you haven't seen before"
"well yes but... I haven't seen you before" She could feel her face getting hotter. Not that I wouldn't mind she added silently.
As if reading her thoughts he said "Well pet, if you ever want to all you have to do is say so. I don't mind" He couldn't help but laugh as her face went a brighter red.
Forcing herself to calme down, her blushed slowly disappeared. They both truned towards the tv pretending to watch what was on. Spike finally broke the silence. "Feeling better Pet?"
Willow tensed remembering she had broken down a few minutes ago. "Yeah, thanks"
He wraped his arm around her, bring her closer to him. "Was it because of Buffy?" She nodded "I didn't want to make you sad" She said quitely.
"You know you can talk to me about anything. You don't have to be strong around me, Willow. She was your best friend. I know how much she ment to you. It's ok to cry, Pet."
Glad that she could finally talk about it with someone, she feel into his comforting arms and let silent tears fall. "I know everyone dies, and her being the slayer, she'd die really early. I mean she already lived long for a slayer. Although, I knew all of this I still didn't expect it."
Her next few sentances were drowned out by her cries. Spike held onto her desperatly wanting to take away her pain. When Willow could cry no more she just surrendered to Spike's comforting touch. They sat there for ten minutes before Willow broke the silence.
"I love you"
Spike wasn't sure if he had heard her right. Her voice was so soft and low that he thought he has imagined it because it was the thing he had longed to hear. He brought her face to his, searching for reasurence that he had indeed heard her.
Smiling at him she was getting increasingly nervous. He hadn't said anything. It had only been a few seconds but to Willow it seemed like an eternity. She hoped that she hadn't ruined what they have.
Convinced that he had heard right, Spike slowly brought his mouth to hers, kissing her softly. When he broke the kiss her brought her back into his embrace, runing his hand though her hair. "I love you too."
They stayed there for a moment, feeling the best they had in weeks. Finally Willow looked up at him hopefully, wondering if he would keep his word. "So... Can I see what's under the towel now?"
