So the mood music you need for this fic is Madonna’s Die Another Day!

Notes 2: Alright.. see now this is where the fun begins- this story is set in my little world- First off… this is set in the second season so… Angelus is back!! ~Part: 1~

Willow looked up at the night sky. It was amazing how that even though the world around her was so hectic she still found the time to appreciate the small things in life. She sighed to herself and let the gentle breeze calm her. But her momentary state of happiness was interrupted when she was brought back to reality by a set of fingers snapping in front of her face.

"Will! Will! You ok?" Buffy asked with genuine concern.

"Huh.. oh yeah- sorry bout that"

"So- whatcha thinking about?"

"Nothing in general"

"Come on Will, talk to me. I miss our talks"

"And who’s fault is that?" The words slipped out of her mouth before she could stop them. She turned just in time to see Buffy’s face tinged with guilt.

"I’m sorry Will, it’s just.. it’s just been really hard dealing with… well… everything."

"I know hon.. it just seems like for the past couple of weeks I’ve lost my best friend."

"Let me make it up to you Will, please, you have to let me make it up to you."

"Buffy, relax, it’s no big, you just needed some space, I understand."

"Do you think maybe I could crash at your place tonight?" Buffy asked in a small voice, for the first time she was actually scared that she might be losing her.

"Of course you can- we can do the whole bonding thing. Catch up on what we missed."

Buffy’s face lit up with those words and she grabbed Willow and pulled her in for a big bear hug. After a minute or so she still wasn’t letting go.

"Buff, you plan to let me go anytime soon?"

"Oh right, I’m sorry" Buffy replied, she let go but not before giving Willow one last squeeze.

"Ouch! You seem to be forgetting the slayer power there!" Willow teased.

The girls walked with their arms hooked smiling and laughing, both obviously glad to have their friendship renewed. Through all their happiness neither noticed the bleached blonde in the shadows.

"Soon luv, soon"

Spike paced around his room. He was feeling a lot like a caged tiger. He had already waited for months, what’s a couple more hours? "I always was the impatient one" he thought to himself. He sat down on his bed and closed his eyes letting the memories wash over him. He remembered when he first saw her, his fire goddess. It was Halloween and she was dressed in that clingy wrap top along with that leather skirt. If he had a breath it would have been taken away with that ensemble. He had never really noticed her before that, he just thought of her as the slayer’s little friend, another meal that he could have just to piss the bitch off. But now she was so much more, she was his new obsession. Over the past 2 weeks he had been following her home every night, partly to familiarize himself with her regimen and partly to keep an eye on his prize, making sure no one else would steal her away. She consumed his thoughts. It was no wonder- she had the perfect combination of everything- that complexion, the innocence, the intelligence plus that hot little body of hers. What he wouldn’t give to have her legs wrapped around him this second with him thrusting in and—Spike groaned- he could never think about his goddess without getting hard. He unzipped his pants and took out his member and began stroking. Images of her filled his mind. Images of him taking her virginity- showing her how much pleasure could be had. Showing her the most pleasurable sins of life. He pumped faster and finally came roaring her name. Only a few more hours and everything would be perfect.

Willow awoke to the sound of the phone ringing.. "ughh.. hold on- hold on" she said to the inanimate object. "Hello?" she asked her voice husky from sleep.

"Willow? Is Buffy over?"

"Giles- what time is it?" she glanced over at the clock 3:24, "Giles- it’s like 3:30 in the morning- what is it? something wrong?"

"Actually yes- I was wondering if Buffy was over at your house and if she is could you put her on the phone"

"Uhh.. yeah she’s right here- hold on" Willow nudged Buffy in the back a few times before leaning in by her ear and screaming out "Summers! WAKE UP!"

Buffy shot up with a shocked look on her face, "AHH!! what..? Willow what is it?"

Willow smiled an evil grin and held out the phone, "Giles" her face reverted to an innocent look.

Buffy snatched the phone from her hand. Willow flopped back onto her bed and pulled the covers up. She was just falling into the grasps of sleep before Buffy jumped onto her bed.

"Will- wake up! We gotta get over to Giles- PRONTO!"

"What is it?"

"I’ll explain on the way there.. come on- we have to haul ass!"

Willow had a confused look on her face but decided to follow Buffy’s directions anyway. Whatever it is it must be important!

~^~**~^~

"So- what is it Giles that was so important that it couldn’t wait until morning?" Buffy asked slightly irritated.

Giles was pacing around his living room floor and lit a cigarette before replying, "I can’t believe I overlooked this."

"You smoke?" Xander asked with a curious look upon his face.

"Only when I’m extremely stressed"

"That’s not important, Giles- what’s going on?" Willow was beginning to get worried.

"You all might want to sit down for this."

"Giles- stop stalling and get on with it!" Buffy said but sat down anyway. The other two Scoobies followed in her steps.

"Every 1000 years there occurs a day. A day where the vampires of the world can roam the earth in sunlight. I do not know how and why exactly they are able to do so but they are. The good side to this is that because it occurs once every 1000 years not many know of it but the bad side is that the older the vampires get the more knowledge they gain so I can most likely predict that the three master vampires on the Hellmouth know of this day."

"So that would be Drusilla, Angelus, and Spike- peachy" Xander’s comment was soon follwed by a smack from Willow.

"Not helping, Giles is there any way to stop this?"

"No, we must let this day play out. The most we can do is just protect the citizens of Sunnydale"

"Well what else do we know about this day?" Willow’s face showed confusion and shock- "So many could die- so many" she thought to herself.

"Unfortunately, I had just discovered this and have not been able to get much information on it. What I do know is that the vampires can still be killed though. There really isn’t much information as it is so there is little point to researching."

"In other words, we have to wing it" Buffy stated, "great… this is JUST WHAT I NEED!" she thought to herself.

"When is this day anyway?" Xander asked rubbing his head in the spot that Willow had hit him.

"Today"

"Oh, great.."

"Well, let’s just hope that the three masters DON’T know about it." Willow said with a hopeful tone.

"Doubtful but yeah- Buff- you think you could take them?" Xander asked.

Buffy thought to herself for a few moments. Could she take them? If she were completely honest with herself she knew that the only one out of the three she could truly stand a chance against was Drusilla and that was only because the vampiress was crazy. If she came face to face with Angelus not only was she not ready mentally but also physically. The man.. no vampire- she mentally corrected was not only clever but extremely strong. She sighed. Spike was no easier in fact on some levels probably harder. Angelus liked to play and make her suffer for the relationship Angel and her had but Spike was ruthless. If they ever truly gotten in a fight and not just for Spike’s entertainment, she would be dead. She snapped herself out of her thoughts and replied with more confidence then she felt, "Well- Angelus is probably just dying, not literally, to rub this in my face so I doubt he’ll kill me and if Spike kills me, Angelus will kill him so no big worries there. Drusilla I can take."

"If you’re sure Buff.." Willow tried to stifle a yawn but it wasn’t working, she was so tired.

"Hon, you wanna get some sleep? I mean you could probably get in an hour or so."

"Yeah that’d be nice."

Buffy saw that Xander was ruffling through Giles’s kitchen, "probably looking for something to eat" she thought with a smile.

"Come on, let’s get you tucked in" Buffy pulled the covers up to Willow’s neck as Willow snuggled the couch seat. "Night sweetie." Buffy planted a small kiss on Willow’s forehead.

"Xander- grab me a cup of coffee- k?"

Xander walked into the living room with a cup of tea in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other and a donut in his mouth. He glanced at the couch and saw that Willow was already fast asleep. "I think I’m gonna get some rest too if that’s ok"

"Yeah- go right ahead Xan- me and Giles will stay up and try to figure everything out"

Xander walked to Giles’s closet and grabbed a blanket and then plopped onto the recliner, promptly finishing off his donut. Within minutes he was asleep.

"Well Giles, let’s get looking."

~^~**~^~

Willow awoke to the sounds of whispers.

"Please be kidding"

"Buffy, why would I ever joke about a matter like this?"

"Aghh!!!! You HAVE to be shitting me!" Buffy nearly screamed forgetting that her friends were still resting.

"Buffy, quiet! No need to worry Willow and Xander about this!"

"Worry me about what?" Willow slowly rose off the couch despite her muscle’s protests. That teaches me to sleep on the couch she thought to herself before focusing her thoughts to the matter at hand.

"Well- while you were sleeping we discovered quite a lot" Giles begun seeming reluctant to share his news with her.

"Yeah, we found out a whole shit load of info- not of the good not to mention"

"Thank you Buffy- now will you let me explain?" Buffy slouched back into her chair and nodded at Giles, signaling for him to continue.

"Well?" Willow was getting a bit impatient and worried for that matter- this whole situation was ALREADY bad- what could possibly make it worse?

"It seems this day has a lot more downsides then we expected."

"Wait- you mean the vampires can do a lot more then just roam during the day?"

"Yes, quite so, you see the balance between good and evil is constantly held and it seems that this day is the only day the balance is as you say- slightly off"

"Meaning-?" Willow was getting confused. Why couldn’t Giles just get to the point?

"It means that this day will be unbalanced therefore-" Giles was cut off by Buffy’s aggrevated voice.

"Giles! Will you PLEASE JUST GET TO THE FREAKING POINT!"

Giles gave a quick glare at Buffy before continuing on with his explanation, "As I was saying, it means that in order to kill the vampires you must decapitate them. No other method will work. They are immune to stakes, holy water, crosses, and of course sunlight."

Willow sat back in shock for the second time that day. After a few seconds she finally regained her composure and asked, "Do they still need an invitation to get into homes?"

"Yes- that they do but everything else…." Giles let the sentence hang- no need to rub everything in.

"So as you see we are royally fucked" Buffy said before hitting her head against the desk in a defeated manner.

"What are we going to do?" whispered Willow, she was truly frightened. "Dear god- when it rains- it pours" she thought.

"Well, it’s pretty obvious there’s not much we CAN do so I think we’re still sticking with the double patrol plan. I think I’m going to look for a really big sword." Buffy got up and started to rifle through the weapon cabinet.

Giles began to rub his forehead, hoping to rid himself of the major headache that he now had. He sighed before replying, "Like Buffy said, there isn’t much we can do but we still have to try. Our best hope is that only a few of the vampiric population know of this information."

"Yeah, hope" Willow said softly before adding, "Anything Xander and I can do?"

"I’d rather not risk you going out to patrol along with Bu-" yet again Giles was interrupted.

"Giles- Xander and I are fully capable of taking care of ourselves. If Buffy is risking her life then so are we. We’ve done it plenty of times before so why would we back out now when we’re really needed?" Willow said in a snappy tone. "Why does everyone think I can’t take care of myself" she thought to herself.

"Giles, she’s right. They choice is completely up to her though I’m not saying it’s the right choice but I really am going to need all the help I can get."

"Well- that was unexpected." Willow thought to herself before replying with a smile, "Thanks Buff. Like I said before Giles, what can Xander and I do?"

"For starters you might wanna wake Xander up" Buffy pointed her chosen weapon towards the sleeping brunette.

"Watch where you’re pointing that thing Buff!" Willow said with a small smile.

"Yes well after Xander has awaken the three of you should start patrolling. The sun rises in 20 minutes."

Willow walked over to her sleeping friend. She felt a tinge of guilt from having to wake her friend from his dreamworld. After all, it had to better then the situation that they were in now. Slowly, she started to shake him. "Xander- wake up!"

"Huh.. hmm. What?" Xander opened his eyes with a dazed look upon his face. "What’s up Will?"

"To put it simply- you missed a lot. Now get your butt up so we can start explaining."

~^~**~^~

Spike leaned his head against the headboard with a smug smile on his face. He couldn’t believe his luck. He had just been hoping for the perfect situation and here it was- on a silver platter too. "It’s too bad Dalton got filleted before he had a chance to tell anyone except me." he thought to himself, "Stupid smurf." He said to no one in particular. Apparently today or actually in an hour he would be able to walk in sunlight. He was the only one out of the three masters that knew this though. Angelus never was one who would sit down and read a book about this type of thing, but then again neither am I, he thought to himself, "Oh well, I don’t need him ruining my plans anyway." He had the perfect plan on getting his Red, just a simple compromise.

~^~**~^~

Willow walked the streets of Sunnydale, alone. Buffy, Xander, and her all split up going in separate directions. Giles had stayed back making various international calls hoping to get in touch with the Council and notifying them of their situation. Willow was so immersed in her thoughts that she wasn’t even paying attention to where she was going. She heard a car honk and looked up in time to see a car heading straight for her "I’m in the middle of the street??" was her last thought before she felt strong arms pull her back to safety.

"Better watch where you’re going luv"

"Spike?" shit..shit..shit!!!!!

"One and only"

"Uhhh… what do you want.."

"I’m not one for extra words pet, so I’ll make you a deal, as you can see here I am out in the sunlight- and NOT crispy" Spike said with a smirk before continuing on, "The point is if you haven’t noticed I seem to be the only one out here and if you want it to stay that way, you’ll come with me"

"What do you mean?" Willow was pretty sure what he was implying but she wanted to make sure before she made any stupid moves.

"If you come with me, you and your little friends might actually survive today. If you don’t I’ll inform Angelus and the minions of this whole situation and you can find yourself in some deep shit"

"What do you want with me?"

"What’s with all the questions luv, are you coming or not? I’m not the patient type"

Willow thought to herself- she had no other choice. She couldn’t have her friends lives or the rest of Sunnydale’s for that matter, on her conscience. With her mind made up she looked up at Spike, finally meeting him in the eye and said firmly, "Fine, I’ll do it"

"Good" Spike’s smirk grew as he knocked Willow out. Her limp body falling into his grasps. She fit perfectly in his arms. "This is where she belongs" he thought to himself.
