A Different Kind of Hell

SUMMARY: Mina - Willow, Spike, and Angel's girl - wants her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. . .

"Daddy-Spikey. . ."

Spike turned away from the tiny voice, not wanting to wake up from the
sleep-induced haze that surrounded his brain. He didn't want to stop making
love to the vibrant red head in his dream, covering her body with small
bites and nips, drinking the ambrosia that spilled from the tiny wounds.
His sire was there also, watching as Spike made love to her over and over
and over. . .

"Daddy, wake up, please?"

A blue eye tinged in amber opened at the same time a low growl filled the
room. The blonde made a sound of 'oof' when a tiny body jumped on his
chest, the sound of giggling overpowering the growl. "Daddy, don't get
growly with me!" A small hand hit his chest and he slowly opened both eyes
to be met with the intense emerald gaze of his daughter, Mina. He sighed
unnecessarily, amazed at how the girl looked like her mother more and more
as she grew older.

"What is it, Strawberries?"

Mina giggled, loving the nickname Spike had given her. She felt special,
being named after the fruit. After all, her other daddy Angel was 'Peaches'
, so to be called Strawberries was a special nickname for her. She also
knew that it referred to the Strawberry blonde her hair had become. "Well,
as you know, daddy-Spikey, I'm going to be five soon. Momma said I could
have a party, but she won't let me have one where I want to have it." She
stuck out her lip, emulating the pout that her mother was so good at.

"Why not, honey?" he asked, pulling her down to lie on his chest.

"Because she said that you and Daddy-Sire won't like it." Her lip quivered
and tears filled her eyes.

As Spike looked up into those familiar shimmering green eyes - the eyes he
fell in love with over and over again, and had been every day since the girl
was born almost five years before, he knew that he would do anything in the
world for her. "We can have the party where ever you want, Princess."

She squealed, all tears gone from her face. She jumped up, taking a moment
to jump around Spike. "I have to tell mommy to call all my friends! I'm
*so* excited, Daddy!"

He pulled her down, cuddling with her. He buried his face in her neck,
sighing happily as the combined smell of Mina, Willow, his Sire and himself
washed over him, soothing his nerves. "Where is this infamous party going
to be, Princess?"

"Chuck E. Cheese!" Mina squealed.

"Peaches," Spike said softly, sitting down next to his Sire and lover.
"What is Chuck E. Cheese?"

Angel rolled his eyes, dropping his head back. "This horrible place where
kids go to have birthday parties. Tired parents, loud kids, too much
screaming and running around. Mina wants to have her party there because
Jonathan had his party there a few months ago, but Willow said no, because
we would probably kill someone. I said if you said yes, I would go, but I
know that it won't happen, because you will say no."

Spike blinked, then inched away from Angel. He looked around the room,
finally focusing on a painting above the mantel. "Well, so, ah, have you
seen Chubs lately? He and Commando are all happy because of their new
apartment."

Everyone had been surprised when Graham Miller ended up being stationed in
Los Angeles three years before and ran into Xander at a trendy nightclub one
night. Xander had been a little too drunk, and Graham had always wanted to
get to know the man better. . .needless to say, when Xander woke up in
Graham's arms the next morning, he realized he liked it there.

The two of them had been together ever since.

Angel turned his head, eyes bleeding to gold. "What did you do, Spike?" he
growled.

"I. . .I didn't know, Angelus!" he cried. "I had no idea where she wanted
the party, only that we wouldn't let her have it! She pouted, Peaches. You
know I can't resist those big green tear filled eyes and that pout. . ." He
reached out, taking Angel's hand. "Forgive me?"

Angel growled angrily. "You are asking for forgiveness now, but wait until
you get there."

Spike snorted. "It can't be *that* bad. We've lived through more than most
humans could imagine. I think you are just overreacting."

"If you say so, William. You just wait." Angel smirked, knowing that the
blonde would fly into a rage once he stepped into the hell known as Chuck E.
Cheese.

"I'm scared, Red," Spike said, shifting uncomfortably. The family was
standing outside of Chuck E. Cheese. Willow was standing between Angel and
Spike, holding balloons. Angel had the cake, and Spike was weighed down
with presents.

Xander was holding Mina, and he was dancing around, obviously as excited as
she was. Graham was watching his lover, his mouth open in shock. The
marine knew that Xander was excited about coming to Chuck E. Cheese, but he
didn't expect him to revert to childhood. Cordelia, Gunn, and Wesley were
standing off to the side, trying not to laugh at Xander.

"Unca Xander! Can we go in now!" Mina exclaimed happily, trying to urge
Xander in.

Xander smiled up at Mina. "Let's go, Kitten," he grinned. He pushed open
the door.

Spike stared in, blinking in shock. "Peaches," he said softly.

Angel shifted, glancing at his Childe. "What is it, Childe?" He could feel
the horror rolling off his blonde lover and was briefly worried about him.

"Is. . .is this what hell was like?" He leaned in, his sensitive ears
assaulted with piercing yells of excited children.

"Worse, if you can believe it. Come on."

Spike stared angrily at the green disk. He growled, his eyes flashing
yellow. His eyes rose and met the dancing eyes of his Sire. "I will win,
Sire."

"You wish," Angel said, chuckling. He leaned over the edge of the small
table, a challenge flashing in his eyes. He glanced up at the bright red
numbers, noting that he was one ahead of his childe. "I've got one up on
you."

"Daddies! What are you doing?"

Spike glanced over at Mina, smiling at the excited girl. "I'm trying to
take your daddy out. We are playing Air Hockey."

Angel smirked, taking his childe's moment of distraction. He slammed the
disk towards Spike's goal, standing up straight and grinning when the disk
slid into the blonde's goal. Spike turned, his eyes amber. He was on the
verge of letting his demon out. "Peaches, you cheated!"

"Alls fair in love and air hockey," Angel smirked. "Besides, this is *me*
we are talking about."

Mina tugged on Spike's duster, looking up at him. "Daddy, pick me up."

Spike leaned over and picked Mina up. "What is it, pet?" He kissed her
forehead, falling in love with her again.

"Daddy, you can kick daddy-sire's booty. Momma said you could." Mina
smiled, leaning up to kiss his forehead. "And she said don't let your grr
out, cause you will scare the little kids. I don't know why you will scare
the kids, cause you are so cute with your grr out, but don't let him out,
ok, daddy?"

"So momma thinks he can kick my booty?" Angel asked, smirking.

Mina wiggled out of Spike's arms and ran around the table, jumping up in
Angel's arms. "Yea, because she knows how he is." She leaned up and kissed
his forehead. "But I still think you are cool too, daddy."

Angel growled playfully, hugging Mina tightly. "Go play with your friends.
I see that they are all having a good time in that. . .slide. . .thing."

Mina looked towards the slide. "Oh, looky, daddy!! Unca Xander is being
silly! He's stuck in the net thingy!!"

True to Mina's word, Xander was stuck high above the ground in the net
enclosure that ended the plastic tunnel. Graham and Willow were standing
underneath it looking up. Graham was blushing furiously, and Willow was
trying to tell Xander how to get out of his predicament.

Angel chuckled, hearing his childe laughing along with him. He put Mina
down. "Maybe you should go help Uncle Xander get out of the net thing,
Mina."

Mina threw her hands up happily. "Mina is here to save the day!" she
yelled, running off towards the huge plastic enclosure that took up a forth
of the resturant.

Angel turned back to Spike. "Ready to get your ass kicked?"

Spike licked his lips, grinning at his Sire. "Bring it on, Daddy."

Angel and Spike both collapsed on the couch, leaning against each other.
Mina dragged Willow in, jumping around as the red head collapsed against
Spike, reaching out for Angel's hand. "Come on, you guys! Don't be big
poopy parents!! Let's play with my new toys!"

Spike glanced over at Angel. "And you thought that I was wild," he smirked.

Angel chuckled, reaching over to run his hand through Willow's hair. "Did
you have a good time, Wills?"

"Tired," she murmured softly, closing her eyes.

"Someone *play* with me!" Mina said, stomping her foot. "Please?"

"God, where's Harris when you need him?" Angel murmured.

"Mmm. . .probably getting the Marine treatment for getting stuck in the net
thing," Willow giggled. She shifted, lying her head down in Spike's lap.

"Please, someone play with me? It's my birthday and I want someone to play
with me. Daddy-Sire?" She batted long eyelashes at Angel.

Angel smiled, getting lost in his daughter's eyes. "Yea, Princess, I'll
play with you." He got up and followed Mina to her room to play with her
new toys.

Willow looked up at Spike, smirking. "He's so bloody whipped," Spike
chuckled, running his fingers through Willow's hair.

"Like you aren't," she murmured.

He looked down at her, smiling. "Perhaps I am, Red," he grinned, leaning
down to kiss her softly.
