Rating: R

Pairing: W/? Its a Surprise!

Summary: The gang spend a night in a haunted house.

Spoilers: This is where it gets complicated, so pay attention. This fic is AU set in my own little universe. To understand this place you need to know that events of Series 7 BtVS and Series 3 (I think!) AtS took place, with some changes. There is no Dawn. There were no W/T or W/K relationships. Spike is NOT dead(er). Cordelia ascended but has not come back. There is no Connor therefore Angel was not sent to the bottom of the ocean in a box.

Disclaimer: Characters herein belong to someone who is not me.

Feedback: Is an eight-letter word often associated with another eight letters: YES PLEASE!

AN: I have no excuse for this. I was working on another fic when this idea came to me. As my Edward muse was not co-operating I wrote this instead. I apologise in advance.

Thanks to my wonderful betas who are helping me with my comma problem, as well and general mistakes I made! You guys are great! And I'm sure with your help I will break my comma addiction! Thanks again!

~Part: 1~

"Come on Giles! Lighten up!" Buffy whined.

"Yeah G-man. It'll be fun."

"Xander, don't call me that ridiculous name. And I do not think that spending a night in a haunted house can be described as fun."

"I don't think it's really haunted, Giles," Willow said. "And besides, if it is, we can handle it. After all, we'll have two vampires, a watcher, a slayer and a witch. Oh and Xander can handle himself in a fight," she added.

Looking around at the pleading faces of his charges the watcher finally relented. "Oh all right, but if anything bad happens." he left the threat hanging.

"We know, big trouble," Buffy said. "Come on, guys! We need to pack!" she said, racing up the stairs of the Hyperion Hotel. The other two followed her.

After defeating the First, the newly activated slayers had gone off around the world with what was left of the Watchers Council. Faith and Robin had moved to Cleveland to patrol the Hellmouth there.  Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles headed off to LA for some much deserved R&R. Angel was only too happy to put them up, even though Spike complained for an entire week when he found out.

Having seen them run up the stairs, Angel smirked at Giles. "So they finally persuaded you I take it?"

"Yes they did. As you very well knew they would," Giles said turning to face the dark vampire.

"Well, we couldn't make it seem too easy, could we?"

"Is everything set?"

"Spike's seeing to the last of it as we speak."

"Good."

"He should be back soon, then we can leave. We should be able to get there before dawn, give them a chance to explore the place and then the fun can begin."

Both men smiled at the thought of what was to come, but for different reasons. This was going to be fun.

~Part: 2~

It was nearly dawn when the gang arrived at the house. It was an old mansion in the middle of nowhere. Trees lined the overgrown driveway and crumbling statues stood every so often among the trees.

"Wow," Willow breathed.

"This place looks like its been taken straight out of a horror movie," Buffy added.

"It reminds me of that ride in Disneyland," Xander said. "You know, the Haunted Mansion."

"Xander you think the hotel looks like the Tower of Terror," Willow pointed out.

Buffy sniggered. "He's got a point though, Will. It definitely gets a 12 on the creepyness scale."

"Lets get inside," Angel interrupted. "Spike can show you to your rooms."

Spike grumbled something that made Angel hide a smile. Out loud he said, "Follow me." As the gang began to pick up their bags, he swooped in and collected Willow's bag before she could. "Allow me, Red," he said and headed into the house.

"What's that all about?" Buffy asked, walking next to the witch.

"What's what all about?" she replied.

"Come on Will! You know what I'm talking about. Spike's been acting, well, nice to you ever since we got to LA. Its creepy!"

"I can hear you Slayer," a British voice drifted back to them. "Are you coming or what?"

"Shall we ladies?" Xander asked, coming up behind them.

"We shall," Buffy said, linking her free arm though Willow's.

Stepping into the hallway, they froze. "Wow." Directly in front of them was a large, wide staircase in white marble. The rest of the hallway was lined with large archways leading into what appeared to be large rooms. "This place is amazing," Willow breathed.

"And so much nicer than the last haunted house we were in," Buffy added, involuntarily shuddering at the memory.

Walking up the stairs, the trio were greeted by even more stunning sites. (AN. Ok, I'm going to stop describing the house now. You can probably come up with much better imagery then I could ever describe!) The bleach blonde led them down a long corridor, until stopping in front of a large set of double doors.

"This is your room, Slutty. Zapper's across the hall," Spike said.

Ignoring the British vampire's digs, Buffy asked, "I thought me and Wills were sharing? So where's her room?"

"Yeah, well, you thought wrong. Red's down the hall. This way, Luv," he said, turning away from the slayer.

Following him, Willow had to stop herself from giggling at the blonde man's snide remakes regarding Buffy.

"Here we are, Pet," he said, pushing open a door several down from where her friends were staying.

"Wow. Spike, this room is amazing," she said, looking around. "But don't you think they'll get suspicious about me being so far away?"

"Well, Red, if you want your friends to find out about your.relationship, you can always move into the room next to the slayer," he said, knowing full well that she wouldn't.

"I never said that! So, when do you think he'll get here?"

"I'd say right about now," another voice said from the doorway.

"Angel! Have you seen this room? Its gorgeous!"

"I thought you'd like it, Little One."

"Do you want to know what my favourite feature is?" she asked, innocently.

"Pet?"

A wicked gleam appeared in her eyes. "The bed. Want to try it out?"

"I knew there was a reason we love you," Angel said, advancing on her.

"Only one?"

"Willow!" Buffy's voice interrupted whatever reply the boys had. A few seconds later the blonde bounced into the room. She stopped short at seeing the two vampires in her best friend's room. "Angel. What are you doing here?"

"I came to see if everyone liked their rooms," he lied smoothly.

"Really? I love mine! The dresser is adorable, and the bed's really comfy, and."

"Did you interrupt for a reason, Slayer, or were you just planning on annoying us?"

"Please can I stake him?"

"No, Buffy."

Buffy pouted. "Fine. So Willow?" she said brightening up. "Want to go exploring with me and Xand?"

"Sure," she replied, sending apologetic looks to her lovers.

"Great!" the slayer said, completely missing the silent exchange going on around her. "Let's go get him!" she enthused, bounding back out of the room.

"Guess we'll have to try the bed later," the redhead said. "Sorry."

"Don't worry about it, Little One. Go explore with Buffy. We'll get some rest and join you later," Angel said, kissing her briefly.

"We'll just have to find some way for you to make it up to us later Red," Spike added, an evil gleam in his eye. "Now go on before Slutty gets suspicious," he said, also kissing her.

"Okay. I'll see you both later," the witch said, and left the room.

"Can I please kill the blonde bitch, Sire?"

"As much as I'd love to say yes right now, it would only upset Willow."

Spike sighed. "You're right. Besides, I'm sure we can get revenge later."

Angel laughed. "Come on, my boy. Let's go to bed."

~~~*~~~
"This place really is amazing," Buffy said for about the fifteenth time. In the last few hours they had explored most of the rooms in the house and most of the gardens.
"Yeah. I'm amazed we haven't got lost yet. Though I don't think I could find my way back to half the rooms we've been in," Xander added. "I do remember the way to the kitchen, though. Anyone else hungry?"
The girls laughed. "I could eat," Willow said.
"Let's go!" Buffy added leading the way back to the kitchen.
