The episode “To Sanshu In L.A.” is named after William Friedkin’s movie To Live & Die in L.A. Wesley finds out Shanshu means “to live and die”.

Too tall

During Giles’ song about leaving Buffy in OMWF at the point when Buffy is doing backflips past Giles as he sings, it’s quite obvious that it isn’t her and is a stunt double as she seems to be as tall as he is when in the standing position.

Doublemeat Palace workers have…Gone

In the episode Doublemeat palace, in the the scene when Buffy goes back for her second day, Manny tells her that Gary has “Gone” and there is a big wadge of clocking slips on the wall in a box marked “Gone” a reference to the subsequent episode?

Tale of the Body Thief

The body switching plot in “Carpe Noctem” is similar to a book by Anne Rice titled “Tale of the Body Thief”. In which an old man switched bodies with a young man in a comma. He then uses this handsome young mans body to entice Lestat, a charismatic vampire in the Anne Rice universe, to switch bodies with him for a short while. But the body thief has different plans and tries to steal the vampires body permanently.

‘City Of’ :
During Cordy’s meditation scene, the book in front of her (with a dollar sign on it) is called “Meditation : for a beautiful life” by Amanda Smith.

‘I fall to pieces’ :

Operative currently based in Los Angeles Office. Lost her sight at age 21 on purpose. Spent 5 years in Pajaur studying with the Nanjin, an order of cave dwelling monks who believe that enlightenment is seeing with the heart, not with the mind. Brewer’s study with the Nanjin has made her uniquely useful to our purposes. Because of her frail, blind appearance, it is all but impossible to authorities to believe she is capable of any violence. However, due to her highly developed extra-visual perception, she is able to carry out even the most difficult and challenging assignments, able to penetrate even the most sophisticated defenses, and able to find even the most well-hidden subject. She entered our employ as an occasional operative in 1991 and is currently on a regular retainer.

Hamiltons won’t be making love to Angel.

In Origin Hamilton tells Angel “Let’s be clear about this. Things run differently now. I’m not a little girl. You and I won’t be making love on this couch any time soon.” This is a reference to when Angel and Eve had sex in Life of The Party.
