The Babyverse Krewe

Ebony Silvers

Originator of The Babyverse; the A.U. spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She is exceptionally kind and helpful, to all of her consorts and family, giving readers and writers hours and hours of pleasure. Ebs is mother to all of the BV Krewe, she is our goddess; our guide. Without her, none of us would be in this wonderful world. And for that reason, we owe a debt of gratitude, good fic, and good reviews. We all love her. She is cherished.

Ten

Hello. My name is Ten and I am a fanfic addict. I first started reading fanfics in February of this year (2002) and now I can't seem to get through a day without several juicy ones. I try to cut down, but I'm helpless against their power. I enjoy fanfics from BtVS and Angel, and I will confess to a slight preference to NC-17 goodies, particularly when Spike is involved. *sigh* After a month of only reading, I began writing my own. I know, I know, I tried to resist, but some desires are just more powerful than we can possibly imagine. Do we need a 12-step program? ;-)

I ran across the Babyverse and Ebony Silvers through a James Marsters discussion board in March. I fell hard for this amazing alternate universe and soon after asked Ebs if I could write a story for it (“Out” which she graciously included as Chapter 12 in her “Slept So Long Without You”). She benevolently said yes, and, well, the rest is history. This wonderful journey has even led me to receiving a Believe Award for my story of how Wes & Dru got together, “Tea with Dru” (Hey! I’m an award-winning author!!).

I also still write some more traditional Buffyverse things, which can be found here http://tensfanfics.com but I must confess that my heart belongs in the Babyverse with the wonderful friends and co-writers I’ve found there. Enjoy the reads!

Fojiao2

Kevin Poston was born in East Texas in 1969 and lived there most of his life. Though trapped in a small town in the piney woods, he read things most people there didn't--basically, books about the larger world outside of Texas. He started writing poetry and fiction when he was 10; the culture and literature he took in naturally had to explode out of him in some way. When he started college his voracious consumption of exoteric lore doubled, and so did his writing. He became a Zen Buddhist at 21 and has been one ever since. His religion led him to study Asian culture, and he fell in love with China and all things Chinese. In his 24th year he was able to teach English at the Yunnan Education College in Kunming, Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China, and it was the single best year of his life. He came back to America with a Chinese name (Wen Kai Tai, used mostly by his friends) and a better understanding of love and life. He finished his Masters degree in English and in the intervening years has not done much with it at all. He didn't discover Buffy the Vampire Slayer until its 5th season, but once he got into the show he dived in head-first, saw all the past seasons, and has not been the same person since. He started writing fanfiction in early 2002 under the name Fojiao2, and his first story helped him find Ebony Silvers online. He encouraged her to post her own stories online, and thus was an awed midwife to the birth of the Babyverse. Since then he's done whatever he can to help Ebony and the Babyverse live and thrive. He's just finished his third year of living in Austin, Texas, and will be there for the foreseeable future.

Merzibelle

Our dear webmistress requested a short biography, so here it is. I’m one of the newest writers to the Babyverse, only having been here since Late-July/early- August; however, I love the freedom that writing within this lovely little universe gives me, lots of little things to play around with and enjoy. As for myself, I’m a thirty-year-old stay-at-home mom to a rambunctious three-year-old Wesley fan currently residing in Alabama. I’ve been writing in various forms for almost 15 years now. I am the webmistress for the Pride of Baltimore, my personal corner of the Babyverse; a non-Babyverse fan fiction archive of my work called Perchance to Dream, which focuses on Wesley; and am developing a internet based children’s custom sewing business called Dixiana Designs.

Houses

Hello All, I’m houses or houses7177. I’m a PhD student at Southern Methodist University studying atmospheric geophysics with a side of seismology. My particular emphasis is on infrasound and its military and academic applications. I’ve been writing as long as I can remember, but only ventured into fanfic after stumbling onto the Babyverse last spring. For some reason I was possessed by an overwhelming and atypical desire to participate, so here I am, and I am very grateful for the friends I met in the BV universe. I come from a long, long line of North Carolinians and look forward to dragging my wandering Californian of a husband kicking and screaming back home again. I have played the violin and viola since I was four, and am a compulsive painter and sculptor. I did a sojourn in D.C. for my undergrad at Georgetown University and developed an intense antipathy towards politics. No children at this time, but I am eagerly anticipating getting a dog.

Esme

Well, I have been writing fan fiction since 2000. I used to write Spike/Xander slash, and various fics in the Buffy fandom. I found the Babyverse when I started Shadows & Dust Fan Fiction Awards and received tonnes of nominations. Intrigued I began reading and now I'm writing it! It's simple really, I got hooked, and had to write. BV gave me my inspiration back, and made my imagination start working again. I've now done fan art and I'm writing my second fic in the BV which is pretty amazing, seeing as how I never used to write this much before. I just love it. there's not much more that I can say, except that all my love and thanks goes out to these guys listed here. They gave me part of me back, they know what that means, and I'm glad I met them all.

DramaGirl

DramaGirl42 was born on a warm June night in 1981 in Buick City, Flint, Michigan. Although she didn’t realize it at the time, her career in fan fiction began at the tender age of four, when she wrote her very first Mary Sue story about her adventures with Puck, Oberon, and the gang from Pooh corner.

As she grew older and more jaded, DramaGirl used journalism as her literary outlet, spouting on topics like not going to prom and assisted suicide in her monthly column. She eventually won numerous awards for her writings and even dabbled in freelance work for a spell, but she graduated high school and took up aardvark wrestling instead.

Then she went to community college, in the hopes of saving money, and people who had never been outside of Michigan promptly broke her spirits. After a long, bitter dry spell of not writing, DramaGirl stumbled onto “Buffy,” JamesMarsters.com, and the world of fan fic. She started writing a story, which she later learned was a Mary Sue, and started hearing things about something called “The Babyverse” when she began advertising her fic. In meeting up with Ebs and the rest of the Krewe, DramaGirl has found a home among kindred spirits, both creatively and emotionally. No matter where she goes, she’ll wear the Babyverse label proudly.

DramaGirl42’s Mary Sue is Claudia and, like Claudia, she enjoys tangerines.

Ditto

Hiya peeps, I'm Ditto and I'm a Spikette. I’m a fair, fat, not yet forty fanfic reader <ahem>. I really am a fanfic reader, rather than a writer. I only started writing fanfiction so’s I could leave signed reviews at a certain site. My fave fics besides the Babyverse ones, which goes without saying, are Spike/Xander fics and Spike/Angel/Angelus. I still love Spuffy fics, but after reading thousands, I now only read the really excellent ones like Tens’ Patrolling and Kai’s Becky and Spike. I like Mary Sue’s, but they have to be first class characters like Baby or PokerKitten’s Saskia. When I’m not reading or writing fanfiction you can chat to me any time on the Babyverse posting board and the James Marsters official posting board. If you love James Marsters/Spike as much as I do, then come and join in the fun. One can never have too much fun.
