Summery: Spike and Buffy are going to tell their friends that they
are together.

                    Part One
The walk home for Buffy and Spike felt shorter then any other
walk home they had ever shared before. They both stood outside the
Summer's house, staring at the front door.  "We should go in." Buffy
said, not taking her eyes off the door.
"Um, yeah." Spike answered. Still, no move was made.
"Ok. Here we go. So, not walking. . . .So need to start
walking." Buffy sighed. Buffy was not sure what to expect from her
friends.
"Ok." Spike took Buffy's hand in his. Spike was nervous, not
because he cared what the scoobies thought, but because Buffy cared.
Spike looked deep into Buffy's eyes.  He wondered what amazing things
were still in store for them both in the days, and he hoped years,
ahead. And now, for the first time, Spike felt truly alive again.
Buffy hesitated at the door. With one hand on the knob she
turned to see Spike intensely staring down at her. Buffy could not
help but blush.
"No matter what, Spike, we'll get through this together."
Buffy said reassuring herself, more, then to reassure Spike. Before
Spike could answer, the front door was opened from inside the house.
Xander stood there looking at Buffy.
"Well, bout time you came back," Xander glanced at
Spike. "Oh, goody! You found the un-dead and just in the nick of time
their Buff, ten minutes to sunrise." Xander said this while he tapped
his watch at Buffy with his finger. "Too bad."
"Speaking of sunrise mate, think you could move out of the
door way so we can come in?" Xander reluctantly let Spike in. The
three went into the living room.
"Xander, we need to . . .  " Xander interrupted, he had just
noticed the fact that Spike and Buffy were holding hands.
"Why are you . . .  Why are you holding hand, again?"
"Xander that is what I, well, what we want to talk to you
about." Xander's face suddenly went through so many different
emotional changes, and Buffy was not sure what he was feeling.
"It was Willow again, wasn't it? She did this! It's, `do you
own spell mojo' again!"
"Xand . . . " Buffy began to say, but Xander was not
listening and he stormed out of living room shouting for Willow.
Buffy elbowed Spike. "Say something." She hissed under her breath.
"What do you want me to say, luv?" Spike snickered. Buffy had
no time for a witty comeback, Xander marched back into the room.
"She was probably trying to get Tara back! You know what this
means? Willows doing magic again!" Just at the moment Willow walked
into the living room, still half asleep but obviously annoyed at
Xander's yelling and rude awakening.  He pointed at her. "You're
doing magic again!"
"What! So am not!" Willow was fully awake now. "What makes
you think that?"
"Them!" He said pointing frantically at Buffy and
Spike.  "Being all, the holding of the hands and all how there were
when you cast that spell!" Xander was all flustered.
"Hey!" Anya said walking into the room. "What's going on?"
"Craziness! Loads and loads of craziness!" Xander
answered. "Buffy being all mental again!"
"Hey! Right here. Hearing what you are saying and wanting to
respond!"  Everyone turned their full attention toward Buffy. She
took a deep breath,  "For sometime now, I have been hiding my
feelings.  Burying them so deep inside that they became a mixture of
pain and anger. I was not able to see things for what they were.
Well, yesterday morning things began to appear clearer and my
feelings are now coming into perspective. One thing that I'm sure of
now,  that I was not sure of before, something that was confusing me,
that is no longer confusing me, well . . . "
"Oh, bloody hell, what she is trying to say is, we're
together now, have been for sometime now, we just wanted to let you
in on it." The silence that followed was so hard and long. The looks
that they were getting from everyone were full of disbelief and
anger. All except for Anya who broke the silence.
"Oh good. Another couple for us to go out with and do that
whole double dating thing I have heard so much about!"
"Will?" Buffy pleased to her friend.
"Well, I guess, and we should have seen it coming? But, Buffy
you know this is going to take some time . . . "
"Are you nuts Will? Buffy, with Spike? No way. We all knew
that there was this flirtation going on, but this, them together?
It's crazy!"
"Xander relax! Not that big of a big!"
"Not that big of a big? I must be losing my mind." Xander
again pointed at Willow. "A spell, you must have done a spell. You
just don't remember! You tend to do that!"
"There was no spell!" Willow snapped at Xander.
"Xander. Why don't you just relax? Take a seat and we can
have it out. All of us." Spike said sighing and taking off his jacket
and throwing it onto the nearby chair. Then throwing himself onto the
couch next to Anya.
"Why don't you just butt out bleach boy!" Xander yelled.
"Why don't you try and make me?" Spike said raising an
eyebrow daring him to even try.
"Way, way past through with you, buddy!"  Xander snapped
pointing at Spike.
"Xander, you were all adjusty about Angel. Same diff. This is
just Spike." Buffy said almost whispering. Xander just stood their
mouth agape. He could not believe that Buffy was standing their
asking him to accept Spike as her love interest. Accepting his as one
of the scoobies, that was hard enough, but asking this? Impossible!
Xander was now beyond furious and could no longer control his anger.
"You know what, Buffy? You're both not even worth it now! We
were doing just fine here in Sunnydale before you showed up slayer
girl, and we will do just fine without you. Most likely better! The
only reason any of us were in any real danger was because we were
your friends. You put us there!" Xander grabbed his jacket off the
sofa.
"Xander." Willow jumped in sounding shocked.
"You know that it's true, Will. I mean would have ever gotten
so deep into the magic if it wasn't for Buffy? How many times had we
almost died risking our lives for her? Life would have been
different! Better." Willow ignored Xander and sat down on the sofa.
Spike jumped up. Buffy just stood there not sure what to say.
"Hey! Back off. As I  recall, most of those life in danger
situations were by your choice! If anything you wanted to be in those
situations. Something fun and adventurous to do in your horrible
little existence!"
    "Hey!" Anya jumped in.
    "Sorry." Spike mumbled. "Evil."
"We should have let you steak yourself that night!" Xander
snapped.
    "Xander, I'm sorry." Buffy whispered.
"You're always sorry, Buff. That's your problem. You do,
knowing the bad that will come out of it and you think, by saying I
am sorry it will fix everything. We did that for Angel and look what
happened! Jenny is dead. I am not going to wait around this time and
wait for Spike's chip tp stop working and for him to go all killing
spree!  I am not going to bury anyone else in my life. Do you
understand? This decision that you are making is yours and yours
alone. I will not be a part of your stupid decisions, anymore! An,
lets go." Anya stood up but did not move a muscle. "What?" Xander
asked her.
"If it was not for you knowing Buffy, then we would never
have met."
"No, An, that was Cordelia, remember?"
"The only reason there ever was a Xander and Cordelia was
because of Buffy.  Cordelia would have never looked twice at you if
Buffy hadn't made you marginally cooler by hanging with you." Xander
just stood there staring at his soon to be wife in shock.  "Sorry, I
was a vengeance demon for more than one thousand years. It's the
truth"
    "Fine you wanna stay? Stay."
"Xander we can work this out. Like we always do." Willow
begged
"No Willow. Not this time. Buffy has gone to far this time.
Angel was one mistake and we know how I so hated him, and how right I
was. Well, I am right now! This is Spike we are talking about here!
No soul, is evil! Buffy are you ever going to do the right thing
first or does someone else have to die to prove that you made a
mistake?"
Buffy clenched her teeth and tried to hold in her
tears. "Xander, for someone who looks like they are leaving, why
don't you go already?" Buffy took Spikes hand in hers. "Get out
Xander."
"Gladly." He turned and walked to the door. "Don't say I
didn't warn you." He slammed the door.  Anya looked around.
"Not to seem like I am choosing side or anything but, future
husband, going to go now. Night." Anya grabbed her coat. All Buffy
could do was nod her head.  Willow came up behind Buffy.
"Don't worry Buffy. He will come around." Willow looked at
Spike. "You hurt her, or anyone else,  that is not a demon or a
really evil person trying to kill us, ever,  I will not hesitate to
use my magic again. You understand?"
"Read you loud and clear Red."
"Good." She walked past Buffy. "I guess I will see you guys
in a few hours. I need some more sleep. Night Buff, Spike."
"Night." Spike answered as he stood behind Buffy. With
Willows exit, the room was now empty with just the two of them. Buffy
was afraid to speak afraid to move. She was not sure what would
happen if she tried.  Spike was really not sure what to do. When Dru
went into one of her moods he would just go out and get her a pretty
dress with a pretty girl still in it.  But Buffy was different,
obviously, but what could he do. Love her was all he could do. He
only hoped that was enough. He reached out to her and combed throw
her hair. He let his thumb caress the back of her neck, Buffy let
herself relax into his grip. Spike slowly turned her around to face
him. He waited for Buffy to open her eyes and look into his. When she
did he noticed the pain and the glaze look that she was trying so
hard to hide from him. "Red is right, pet. He will come around."
Buffy shook her head and agreed with him. But she was not ready to
talk about it yet. Not till she knew that she could control her
feelings better. Buffy wrapped he arms around Spikes neck and pulled
him down to her. He took her mouth into his and they kissed. Buffy
pulls back and gasped for air.
"No more hiding." She smiled and pulled him back into another
kiss.
"Thank god." Spike mumbled against Buffy's mouth.

Title: The Road to Somewhere? 2/?
The sequel to The Long Road
Rating: PG-R

Part Two
"Any news from Xander?" Buffy asked Willow as she walked into
the kitchen. It had been a week since Xander's outburst toward Buffy
and Spike. No one had talked to him or seen him since.
"Nope." Willow answered, shaking her head at Buffy. Dawn came
running into the kitchen. She grabbed a glass of OJ and slurped it
down.
"Dawnie, after school you will meet us at the magic shop.
Ok?" She put down the glass and started walking out to the
hallway. "Dawnie? You hear me?"
"Yeah, yeah, Magic shop after school. Sure thing Buff.  See
ya Willow!"
"Bye Dawn!" Willow answered with a mouthful of food. Dawn
grabbed her jacket and called up the stairs.
    "Bye, Spike!"
"See ya Bit!" Dawn giggled. She was so ecstatic when she
found out that Buffy and Spike finally got together. To dawn this was
the most exciting thing that could have ever happened.  Buffy was
finally happy!  No more moping and Boo whoing! Things were finally
starting to feel normal again. Well as normal as could be.
Spike sat in Buffy's room. He was not sure what to do with
himself. It was daylight and there was not much that he could do. He
couldn't sleep, he had gotten used to sleeping threw the night, now
that he had Buffy to hold.
"Trying to think of something you can do?" Buffy asked as she
walked into the bedroom. She was carrying a mug and handed it to
Spike.
"I can think of a whole lot to do." He seductively growled at
Buffy. She blushed and picked up a pillow off the floor and threw it
at him.  "Hey!" He put the mug down on the night stand and took a
hold of Buffy's wrist, pulling her down on top of him. He rolled her
over pinning her to the bed, showing that he had the upper hand. "You
defiantly take my breath away." Spike said in all seriousness.
Buffy could not help but to giggle.  "But you don't have any
breath to take away!"
"Oh, so your gonna be a smart ass." Spike began to tickle
her.
"Stop!" Buffy squealed between fits of giggles.
"Make me." Spike answered, trying to hide his amusement
behind a frown, but was failing miserably.
"Ok then." Buffy suddenly flipped Spike over and straddled
him. "Sorry, honey, as much as I want to stay and play, I have to be
all grown up and go off to work." Buffy Jumped up and grabbled her
hat off her desk. Spike grabbed a hold of Buffy's shirt and spun her
around to face him.
"You don't have to go to work Buffy. I told you. I can take
care of you, you and the bit." Buffy sighed and ran both of her hands
threw Spike's hair.
"We've talked about this. As much as I appreciate, I want to
earn the money. Not have my boyfriend steal it for me."
    "But,"
"Evil, yeah you keep saying that, but I like my Evil vampire
boyfriends to be of the non clepto verity." Buffy leaned over and
kissed him. "I will see you after work, don't go missing me too
much!" She smiled and walked out of the room. "Oh, be good!" She
called after.
"Yeah, yeah. What a poof I've turned into!" Spike fell back
onto the bed and grabbed a pillow.  HE pulled the covers up over his
head.  He deeply inhaled and smiled. He simply could not be more
happy.
"SPIKE? SPIKE! Are you here? God where are you? SPIKE? Answer
me!" Spike sat up in bed.
"What?" He snapped. He was not sure who had run into the
house. The shrieking was hiding the identity to the voice. The
bedroom door was almost closed, but he did hear the footsteps running
up the stairs. He rolled his eyes, flung the covers off and sat up in
the bed.

Anya did not know what to do. Xander had been gone all night.
At first she thought nothing of it. Men do that sometimes. He had
been hanging out with the guys from work a lot more now that he was
not on speaking terms with Buffy and the rest of the scoobies. Then
the note came.
Anya had just gotten home from the magic box, it was lunch
and she was starved. She was hoping that Xander would be home and be
able to tell her why he had not bothered to come home last night, or
call, or even come into the magic box that morning with flowers to
make up for it.
"Xander Harris! You better have a good reason for not coming
home last night! It better have been syphilis again. You are in big
trouble! Xander?" Then was no answer. Anya looked around their
apartment. She sighed and sat down on the sofa head in her hands. The
nock on the door brought her out of her deep thoughts on where Xander
might be.  Anya walked slowly to the door, really not in the mood for
any company.  She opened the door to find no one there. She stood
there for a minute. She looked back over at the sofa and then at the
door again. "Hey that didn't take me too long to open!" She poked her
head into the hallway and looked both ways. No one was there. It was
dead quiet.  That is when she noticed the note that was laying at her
feet. Her hands trembled as she bent down to pick it up. She was
afraid that it was from Xander saying that he left her. It was worse.
We have your precious Xander. We plan to kill him if our
demands are not met. First of all, there will be no running to you
little slayer friend. She stays out of this. If she finds out, Xander
is dead. We will send you further information when were are ready.
Remember, one mistake and can say goodbye to your hubby to be.
                    A friend.
Anya's whole body was now trembling. She frantically looked
around. What was she going to do?  Buffy would know what to do, but
what if the note was right and then Xander died. "Oh god Xander." She
whispered to herself. Her mind raced with ideas on what she should
do. She could sit home and wait for another note but that could be
days. Going to Willow! But she is all no magic. What good would that
do? Giles was gone. He had saved the day the last time Xander was in
trouble. She could call England. England, then Anya made the
connection in her head. Spike! He a good guy now! He would surly help
her. Anya grabbed her jacket and ran back out the door.

Xander was not sure why he felt so betrayed by Buffy and her
new found love for undead number two. But Boy, was he pissy. Xander
watched the guys from work guzzle down their beer. Going out with
them was way different then when he was hanging out with Buffy and
the gang.  Defiantly safer with the guys, but no where near as much
fun.  He sighed and excused himself from the table they were sitting
at. He was tired and board and wanted to go home to the one scoobie
that was still talking to him. It was a nice night, brisk and clear,
but nice. So when the fog began rolling in, Xander had no choice but
to pick up his pace and begin to panic. Funny shapes and movements in
the fog were starting to play mind games with him. Xander was almost
running now. Normally he was with Buffy or someone from the gang but
being all alone Xander just wanted to het home. The fog had gotten
thick so very quickly Xander had no idea if he was even going in the
right direction any more. He stumbled around aimlessly hands
outstretched in front of him, preventing a face to wall accident. So
when he tripped and fell over something he laughed. So much for the
face wall precaution, now it was face ground and a whole lot of pain.
"Definite ouch." He rolled over onto his back and sat up. He
looked out into the fog. Something was moving toward him. He rather
hoped someone and not some thing. "Is someone out there?"  He called
to the moving whatever it was coming toward him.
"Poor, poor baby. That was one nasty little fall." Xander's
mouth fell open when he saw who was talking to him.
    "You're, but how could you . . .  No, you can't be . . . But
you're dead."
"A funny thing about dying these days, there's always away
back" Xander tried to get up but in the fall he had hurt his ankle
and he could not put any pressure onto it.  He fell back to the
ground. He could not help but to let a grunt of pain escape from his
mouth.
"Oh my poor boy! Let mummy help." Xander saw the pipe that
she had in her hand.  He saw her raise her arm and swing the pipe at
him. He closed his eyes and the world went black. "There all better
now, wouldn't you say?" She dropped the pipe to the ground. "Boys
pick him up and get him back to the house. Make sure you tie him up.
We don't want him to wake up and try to escape."  With one wave of
her hand the fog disappeared and a group of men came over and picked
him up and put him in a van. "This is turning out to be one hell of a
night."

Anya waited till she was sure Buffy was not at home. She ran into the
house and started screaming for Spike. "SPIKE? SPIKE! Are you here?
God where are you? SPIKE? Answer me!" Anya ran from room to room
downstairs frantically hoping that Spike would be in one of them.
"What!" He yelled back from upstairs. Anya ran up the stairs
taking two at a time. She burst threw the door to Buffy's room out of
breath and panicking. Spike raised an eyebrow, and tried not to laugh.
"You have to help me, please Spike!" She began pacing.
"Anya, calm down. Help you with what?" She looked around in
her jacket pocket and pulled of the crumbled note. She handed it to
Spike. He sat down on the bed and began to read. When he was
finished, he looked up at her. He expression had not changed. "Why
would I help? After the way he went out of his way to let me know
what a bad evil guy I'm." Anya shoulders dropped.
"Because, well because I'm asking you and you know that Buffy
would want you to help if she knew. And because I can tell that deep
down you are not as Bad and Evil as you say! Please Spike you are the
only one that can help me here." Anya's eyes welled up and she began
to cry. Spike sighed and stood up.
"Turn off the waterworks. I will help you." Anya threw her
arms around Spike and gave him a huge hug.  "But, hey lets get one
thing strait." Anya looked up at him. "I'm so as Bad and Evil as I
say. I am just board is all." Anya tightened her arms. "Poof." Spike
whispered under his breath.
